I thought I'd got a lot of it, but 3 miles! That's awesome.

Building the track is at least 50% of the fun of Scalextric, the remaining 50% is divided into 40% fiddling with the cars and 10% driving them.

Why are they p@ssing about – just bosh in a new insert and get back out there. Let's face it, you knocked the insert out with the headset cup didn't you, go on admit it 🙂

I bought some brakes off SW Tim once, I'm sure they were the wrong way round

Why do you think I sold them? Or did I set them up like that? Suits you, Sir!

It's the same with brakes. Right hand rear, means you're queer.

Please note, I have nothing against the gays. I'm just observant.

It's like ear rings – wearing it on the right is advertising that you're gay.

I've not clicked the link, but can you just confirm that's it's not porn?

I've given my consent, but told her about the possible implications and left the decision up to her.

It's the first 'adult' thing she's had the choice about.

If you want some black ISO hubs I can build them onto some Mavic 321's or similar for £320 the pair. Drop me a mail if you want to know any more.

Hold on there. It was me who stopped dealing with them, due to reasons of my own. Voodoo still make great bikes and who knows what the future might bring?

    3. the flesh covered body suit.

    I reckon you're wrong there – I think it's just flesh coloured.

Either way, it's a big yes from me.

I use Skype on an iTouch, with the Apple headphones and mic. It can take a couple of tries to get a connection, but once you've got one it seems fine.

The Longboard, 9, Tan, Black and Highline are all Taiwanese made and intended to be complete bikes only. You could probably pick up a frame from one of those, but I don't have any pricing for them. The handmade in Golden frames are all in the £1200 region.

Front drive is available in 50 or 46t and costs £75, rears come in 28 or 24 and cost £69. Belts are all £50, but come in a variety of lengths.

You must be able to split the stays to fit a belt and need to keep them under quite a bit of tension.

We do Spot in the UK, but we've never sold a belt drive model yet.

The price of a frame is £1200 or a full 1×9 bike is £1999

Liked it on DVD, didn't see it at the cinema, never read the comic.

To do it properly takes a little effort, changing the oil vloume in the air cartridge, but just fitting the spacers takes about five minutes. If the fork is new and feels good, then DIY, if it's old or the damping feels a bit odd, then get it done during a service.

It's a doddle and we have the spacer kits in stock. £29.99

Brilliant bike btw, I much prefer it to the 5 Spot, as it just feels a lot more lively and nimble.

Is that the HL 5 Spot, TNT 5 Spot or DW 5 Spot?

All three. HL and TNT both felt exactly the same to me and the DW while it does climb better, it’s just not as flickable as the Flux. Whether that’s down to weight, angles, or travel I really don’t know.

I’d probably better clear up any confusion here. We used to import and distribute Voodoo, as they’re lovely handling bikes, look great and still have the influence of Joe Murray in their design. All was well and we were developing a dealer network with no real problems. Unfortunately, Voodoo as a company is run by some slightly bonkers folk and they did a direct deal with Halfords, effectively killing the ability of having a sustainable dealer base overnight. Not to worry, we carried on selling the frames on our own at a competitive price. However, according to someone in Taiwan (where they are based and run from), we had too many returns for the amount of frames we sold. Basically they didn’t want to honour any more warranty claims. This left us with no real option other than to stop selling them – no point selling stuff that the manufacturer won’t back up.
So – if you want a Voodoo then your only current option is to get a complete bike from Halfords (who amusingly have asked us a few times to sort out warranty frames for them).

If it helps, we’ve got a medium red DW Flux hanging here in the shop and it’s at the pre-increase price 🙂

Look at it like a way to travel back through time to when they were £200 less then, if you like.

I lost interest in riding about last August. Only ridden a couple of times since then – it happens to me every few years or so. I’m just starting to get back into it, but I’m still at the stage where I can easily find excuses not to bother. My son is a good one, as he’s really into his archery and show jumping, so I can often have to transport him here and there. Sad thing is that none of my kids are particularly into bikes so riding, for them, is a chore.

Moral of the story from past experience is have a bit of time off, but when the opportunity for a ride arises – take it. You might just get your mojo back.

Slight hijack, but it might be of interest to someone reading this post. We have a large DW 5 Spot and medium DW Flux in stock, both of which we managed to score at the pre,pre-increased prices. So if anyone wants a new Turner and would like to save £200, I’m happy to sell them at the price they should have been.

If that makes sense, drop me a mail.
