I suspect the biggest issue for the company is corporate manslaughter. If your wife was to have an accident with a fatality and there was any fault with the car or incorrect insurance the company can face an unlimited fine.

We have some employees who use their own vehicle and they must provide copies of MOT, service records and evidence of regular fluid and tyre depth checks before they can use for company business.

I chose an 07 Saab 93 estate as my company car and ran it for 3 years and 60000 miles with no problems at all. It was the 150 TID engine.

I really enjoyed owning the car, but was removed from the company car list when I came to replace, so opted for a c class estate.

The Saab was bigger inside (can get a mountain bike in the boot with the seats down without removing the wheels)and the seats were much more comfy, however the c class is a nicer place to sit and it quieter and handles a bit better.

As for not being intuitive to “use”, the only differance is the key being behind the gear level, everything else is like an other car.

The night panel was great (it turns all of the dials off apart from the speedo) but the dash quality was fine, but nowhere near German standards.

We liked ours that much when Saab went bang we took advantage of the lower prices and traded my wifes car in for an 05 convertible. Again we have had this for a year and no problems.

If I came out of the company car I would consider the ttid as the power and emissions are brilliant.

I had the same op in July last year, it was about 11 weeks before I could drive again, was still quite an effort to lift my arm to the steering wheel and i did not have the strength in my arm to overcome the spring to get the gear lever in to reverse!

With physio using, initialy using a broom handle then elastic bands and walking the arm up the wall and light weights the strength did start to come back quite quickly and was back on the local trails about 5 months after the op.

Best advice I can give is do the physio exercises as often as you can, the strength and movement will come back.

We owned an A2 for 3 years as a second car.

They are a really good car, ours was the 1.6 which was surprisingly nippy, we had a few probles
Ms with snapped coil springs on the front but other that nothing went wrong.

The back seats fold flat and can be removed, my bike went in but had to remove both wheels.

Bad points are the ride, rock hard, ours was the se, god knows how bad the sport would be. The rear visibility is poor due to the spoiler and when stationary at lights the wiper rocks the whole car. It did have the bose stereo which was fantastic, oh and it revs quite high on the motorway and is noisy. Rear legroom was better than most mid size cars

We only sold it because the resale value was good and the price of saab convertibles dropped when they went bust, which made them affordable for us

I broke mine at the end of June going over the bars. Very similar injury to yours by the sound of it, fractured just below the ball but also fractured the ball. Initially plastered but after seeing consultant 2 days later decided on surgery as the ball had rotated and was not lining up with the bone closely enough.

Had op on 6th July, 6 weeks in a sling (glad I had the op, if only because the plaster was awful) and started physio, now 12 weeks since op, all healed and doing physio and exercises to gain strength.

Have got around 95% of my range of movement back but do not yet have the strength to lift my arm any further than just above shoulder level (with arm at full extension), I have to walk the arm up the wall with my fingers to keep stretching the muscles and finally have enough strength back to push past the spring to put the car in reverse!

Make sure you stick to physio, its unbelieveable how much strength you lose and how they seaze up after a few weeks in plaster/sling.

Opinions when I can ride a bike off road again, seem to be around 9 months to a year, although I have been out on the street and intend to try a few miles on the flat this weekend on a local smooth trail.

Here is a pic of mine bolts and all:

If you don’t mid high mileage, you could get an A2, we have one as a second car and hit has been faultless for the last 3 years. 4 star NCAP as well

Also it ike a small van if you collapse/remove the rear seats.

Went over the bars descending on the hope valley loop, 10 weeks ago.

Fractures in humerus bone and ball have healed, now doing physio and have about 50 degrees of movement back.

Probably next year before I can get out again properly.

    I’ll be in the club

fractured proximal humerus and also fractured the ball in my left arm 9 weks ago.

Now have 4 pins in the ball and 3 pins down the bone holding the plate on.

Started physio and have already got 50 degrees of movement back under my own power and can get my arm above my head by walking it up the wall with my fingers.

Hoping to be back on the bike on local trails before christmas and have been advised by the specialist to give it 10 months before I start going out properly.

Great timing for this thread, we are on our way to Florida in the morning.

I would buy your Disney tickets in this country, I think they are around £220 for 14 days, which is better value than the 10 day base ticket above. If you have a young child or want the flexibility, the UK ticket offers park hopping, so you can visit as many disney parks in one day as you want.

You only pay one car parking charge per day regardless of how many disney parks you go to.

We have used this site before, I would recomend these tickets, they are similar to the one ticket but dont have Busch gardens or Seaworld. I would only go to Seaworld for one day so the extra cost is not worth it. Busch is supposed to be good but is quite a way out and you will have loads to do for 2 weeks.

Would not worry about Wet and Wild or Aqautica water parks either, the two Disney water parks are superb.

Or if you want everything, its a bit cheaper here:

Just make sure you pick the 2012 prices.

Now my 3 yesr old and 7 year old are on two wheels, my wife wanted a bike, again she tried the Myka and bought it. Really am pleasently surprised about the quality of it for the price. It’s only £10 dearer than the one linked to above.

I got the ex demo stumpy expert from the Harrogate Store. It’s a great bike and once you have the brain set up correctly you will love it.

Is yours the anodised red colour as well?

Not a lot cheaper, but my 3 year old has one of these from here. Has a pedal back brake which is much better than a hand brake (find them difficult to get the power to pull them hard.

Both this and the isla bike have great resale prices, so will probably work out cheaper in the long run.
