I’ve never waited more than about 30-40 mins to clear immigration at any of the airports we have flown into. Miami was quite quick and I actually found the officers there very friendly, one of them had a good chat and laugh with my daughter to get her to have her picture taken.

too can download the my tsa app and it gives live and estimated wait times based on history, should give an indication of the day and time you land.

we had the same plan, both love 911’s and planned to get one when the mortgage was paid off in a few years.

anyway we were looking to replace my wife’s Fabia vrs nearly 3 years ago. We went to a garage to look at a Golf and they had an 05 Boxster there as well. Test drove it, both loved it and bought it.

It had already had crossover coolant pipes replaced (1k job) and well maintained by Porsche and then specialists.

3 years on we have spent just over £2k on maintenance, a full service inc spark plugs and belts, minor service, new brake lines ( corroded behind under trays) and a new window regulator.

it’s a base 2.7 987 and it’s not fast by modern standards 6s to 60, but that just means you can use more of the performance within speed limits. It sounds glorious once you get over 4k revs.

we are more than happy to keep this long term and give up on a 911, I don’t think the additional spend could increase my enjoyment anymore. It’s the perfect second car to my Tesla  model 3.

I found a specialist called Unique in Bolton to look after it. They are excellent and around £80  per hour on the labour charge.

I got the two pots last week as I couldn’t get on with the plastic one finger levers on the magura 4 pots.

More than happy with them, seem as good as mt5 for power but less effort to achive it. My view was if I wanted more power could get a 4 pot front for 60 and have a brake et for 200. At the moment not going to bother. I’m pretty heavy on a Levo sl as well.

Mine also came with the finned pads making even more bargainous!

Just finishing my years free trial of Discovery plus through Sky Q. Had an email today from them to say is now free to sky q customers but will have some adverts.

    Happy with that.

You could always pay for a vcheck report online, they search salvage auctions so may be able to show the images of the damage and confirm of it was minor structural damage.

Mboy That is exactly what I did, found one in the lbs with upgraded brakes to Magura, reverb post and invisframed with 150km on it. Also came with range extender and cable.

Was 6 months old and 4k. I may yet sell the extender as have never ran out of charge. Despite my hefty size the internal battery goes a long way. Been round Cannock and Llandegla and had over 60% battery left, using mostly the middle setting.

Only upgrade I have made is putting 160mm Z1 bombers on from old stumpjumper. It also rides virtually the same.

Is easy to pedal with no assistance and don’t notice any drag. Did a 50km bridleway and single track ride with a friend on a normal bike and it pedalled fine with battery switched off.

@mudmuncher I have done 170 mile round trip and arrived back with 30% battery. Guess that would equate to around 240 miles on an sr+. That wa driving normal with cruise set around 76. Was some 50s on the M6 though.

Recently did a 500 mile round trip. Similar driving and charged for 10mins and 20 mins near destination allowing for just a 15 min charge on way home. Would have stopped any way so no longer than petrol really. Also showed ease of supercharger network. Really does take all stress out of long journeys

I think there are a couple of companies that do aftermarket tow bars now for bikes only. Will imagine it will become more popular now it’s not an option

I got the basic one as a company car in March, never sat in one before ordering. Wanted to move to electric due to bik. Tesla was 4 weeks delivery everything else was 6 months plus. So I chose M3 to get asap as 6 months wait would have cost 2k in tax.

Looks certainly divid opinion, mine black so hides it more than lighter colours. I especially like it around the rear quarter view.

One things for sure I have never had a car where so many people approach and ask to look at it, school kids love it and the odd shout of cool car mate from teenagers!

Regularly do 500 mile round trips in a day and honestly now glad I got it for the ease of the charger network. Had a guy in an Audi trying to plug in as the two on Gordano services were for other cars were broken.

8 months in paint and build is match for any other car I’ve had and not one issue I’ve had to get sorted.

So you’re daughter has her own policy on her car and had the accident whilst driving you’re wife’s car on your wife’s insurance?

If this is right, I assume you’re daughter has a years ncb on her own motor policy to apply to the renewal and quotes? Just making sure you’re not putting zero no claims due to the accident.

You can use that, the 2 holes are so you can mount closer or further away

Are you forcing recharging the battery whilst on the motorway? If so just don’t, I ran one of these as a company car for 4 years and averaged around 43mpg on 500 mile round trips, staring with a full charge.

If I tried to force the battery to charge at motorway speeds it killed the fuel economy.

Lovely car but the small fuel tank was the killer for me.

If changing consider a 5 series either the last gen or the new one in se spec, a much better motorway cruiser.

We’ve just done the same thing. Wife only needs a car to commute a couple of times a week as uses my car most the time now I don’t travel as often.

Decided to go with a Boxster. 2005, 2.7 base. Both love it. Quick enough, drives really well and plenty of space for long weekends away. Servicing is every 2 years and just had first one carried out at Unique in Bolton.

Luckily confirmed I’ve got a good one and only a couple of issues found that they charged an hours labour to sort. Can recommend one.

It’s probably not far off, I’ve recently changed from a 330e hybrid to a model 3 sr +. On octopus go, 5p kw/h to charge, £2.50 for around 210 miles, about 1.4p a mile.

Will increase when I go back to 400 mile round trips and have to pay more at superchargers, but can see that only being a couple of times a month.

Had a 330e phew before and that was about £1 to charge on standard tarif and got between 10 to 18 miles range depending on weather and preconditioning. Was good for nipping round town and commuting 6 miles.

Did charge nearly everyday but main bonus was saving £200 a month on co car tax vs a similar diesel.

We had a 54 plate convertible for 5 years, about 5 years ago. If getting one the 1.8t (actually detuned 2.0) works hard as it is a heavy car. Sweet spot is 2.0 aero, well equipped.

Don’t worry about bulkheads that was the old model and petrols are chains, no cam belt to worry about. Ours never let us down or required anything outside of servicing.

I’ve got a Wallbox pulsar plus installed as I wanted tethered. Works well and app very easy to use to schedule charging to save on Octopus Go.

Would also recommend overcooked 1 & 2. Really great coop game for up to 4 players on screen. Its both simple and really difficult to get all the order out at the same time.

the Alloy version is an absolute bargain at £1299 but only in 29er which brings a whole level of complexity as i’d need new wheels and forks, along with a new seatpost, i may as well just buy a new bike in that case. Plus my desire not to go to 29er as well of course.

Was more trying to give an opinion on the evo overall, didn’t know they no longer had 27.5 in stock. I managed to get another 100 off in store and they added a use seat post shim to save cost of a new post. Though it was the 4th bike I’d bought from them and didn’t take finance.

I bought the alloy version of the evo in 29er from Leisure Lakes 6 months ago. Was also unsure due to the low bb and some mixed feedback on here. A couple of the guys in there had built them up as they were cheap and were really positive about them.

Compared to my 16 Stumpjumper it is much more stable at speed, descends with more confidence and is much better in cornering, fells more flickable and less effort to push into corners.

Climbing is as good as the old and more comfortable due to the steeper seat angle putting me in a better position and the longer reach giving more room.

Using it for everything from 55km rides on bridle way, tow paths, old railway line to just messing on the downhills in the local woods.

Not had any issue with pedal strikes, though I am running it 10mm longer travel forks and it is in the high setting on the rear.

Couldn’t convince myself to get the carbon as it was more than double the price, though I do fancy trying a coil shock!

My daughter uses them to sell, has sold 4 or 5 times now. Sells the for a price she is happy with, sends them, they authenticate them and make payment quickly. Never had a problem.

Claudia – just seen this thread, if it’s any interest I have put a GeForce gtx 1060 6GB card on the classifieds this afternoon. Just removed from my sons pc.

If it’s something you are interested in for your son will help with price to get up and running sooner.

I bought 29er version of this recently to replace a 2016 stumpjumper very happy with it. They still have some on sale in 27.5. Also includes headset in box.

Stumpjumper evo- leisure lakes have S2 size for 1200, similar geometry to sentinel.

Got mine a few months ago and really like it.

I think they do, got my daughter up at 745 so we could try with several devices. We got 72k, 44k, 32k and 9k.

Thanks Orangeboy, sounds a bit more promising.

Zezaskar – thanks for the detail, I’ve owned 3 Stumpys in a row since 2008 and have been faultless (well once I changed the PF30 to a hope one)

Good alternate choice especially the Pace but more than I want to spend. Evo and Sentinel are under 1300 as a frame only.

Thanks for the thoughts. It sounds like it may just be a bit too much bike for me and a regular stumpy would suit me better. I want the bike to be a bit of an all rounder, this seems a bit too focussed.

I think that will just remove the bearing but leave the cup in place but July only experience is with pf30 BBS.

I used a headset removal tool that is like a hollow tube with 4 prongs and a hammer. You can also carefully use a punch and hammer

If its a standard qr rear, isn’t it a 10mm axle, I think 9mnis the front. Most were then 5mm qr axles through them or some had a 10mm DTS thru axle into normal dropouts.

Not sure what size wheel you are looking for to have tried to help find one

We have this Panasonic, at this price of 575 with discount it’s a bargain. Picture quality is excellent.

Always buy Panasonic TVs, still have a 14 year old plasma upstairs going strong.

Have been looking myself for a similar fork but happy with 51mm offset. The Z1 seem to be great value for money.

If you do decide to order the z1, using the code signup10 got me another 10% off. Am just waiting for them to be delivered 😁

I’ve had a 330e for about 20k miles.  I regularly do a 500 mile round trip starting with a full charge and not charging at the other end.

It averages around 45 mpg on this run.  I find using save mode when travelling around 50 mph will charge the battery quite quickly without affecting fuel consumption too much.

In town it can drop to mid twenties in rush hour, though I can generally get to and from the office (14 miles) on one charge easily in warmer weather but in cold weather range drops a lot quicker.  Also uses about 20% of the charge if you precondition so the car is nicely defrosted and warm for when you leave for work.

For me the bik savings against my old 520d made it an easy choice.  I also pay and claim for business miles, so whilst I could get early 50’s from the 520d I only got paid 11p per mile but 14p on the 330e.  So less economic but I actually make more money back.

Also the 250bhp made the decision easy, it is a very quick car and petrol engine much smoother, electric only is quite addictive as well.
