Al – not too sure on number of cases of abuse but I was reading one of the sunday papers a few weeks backs and I’m pretty sure it mentioned Saudi ambassadors and abuse and allegations. OK, so they were only allegations but it just got me wondering ‘why?’

Not a hard man or vigilante as far as I know but that could easily change if my family (or friends) or property were in danger.

Al, what would you do if you fund a piece of scum in your house as you and your wife/partner were safely asleep in bed. Would you not want to batter the litle sh*te so that he was whimpering in the corner for mercy? Or maybe talk to him/her to get to the root of the problem?

Mt – scumbags? Bit harsh isn’t for an insurance claim to make you feel slightly better about your car going up in flames?? To me scumbags come describes the type of crim who rob your bikes, invades your personal space and property, affects your life. Scumbag to harsh for insurance fiddle, save scum for murders, peados, terrorists etc

On the 1 – 10 scale (10 the most insulting) I wuold rate scumbags as around the 8-9 range. Personally I think claiming for a non existent bike in a burnt out car warrants a 3 – v minor offence, scally not scumbag.

No, I have never made an insurance claim on anything so certainly not fraudulently. Would I if my car burnt out? Probably

one-bad-mofo – weren’t voodoo De Jab(?De hab?) ti frames? Had one on order but even the incompetence of the staff at the phone centre was terrible, enough to cancel order.

PLus northern girls ar a good laugh and actually talk to you, not look down their noses as london girls do. London girls think they are superior, how very very wrong they are. Northern girls sopend their hard earned money on nights out, leggings, cropped tops, tats and fake tan but have a god laugh doing it all whereas london girls spend it on trying to climb the social ladder – very shalow.

Mrmichaelwright – it has the opposite effect on me coming back home after a spell abroad. I think it must be because when spending a few days on a beach in the sun you see all shapes, ages and sizes in varying amounts of clothing that by the end of my break every woman on the beach is worth a look at, it matters not how they look, they are all women and the female form has got to be admired regardless (with a few exceptions, normally the extremes). I now take this way of thinking with me wherever I go which gives me plenty of warm thoughts, beautiful ladies are everywhere, femininity is beautiful.

……..Its lunchtime now, time to get the bike out and go for a gentle peddle (or should that read ‘perv’?) around town to see all the lurverly ladies on their lunch hour, bliss. Young female temps, smartly dressed female CEO’s, bored housewives who dont make much of an effort (not a problem), mutton dressed as lamb – they are all fabulous. Try it, it makes the cycle around town so much more interesting as ‘they’ are everywhere

Try and get soon to be Mrs XC to drop shirts at work whenever she might be passing (assumng she drives). My good lady lets me know when she will be passing work so I get a few shirts ironed the day before for her to drop off when she’s passing, suit and shoes kept at work………no need for rucsac, just a saddle bag with tube, pump, multi tool, moby, cash card and cash in, travel as light as possible.

Sun = flip flops. Why one rule for women and one for men? A day at work in shoes/trainers followed by a cold beer on decking in the sun in flip flops, bliss.

And unlike BWD I am going to sit back and admire the last three pages of A&A before the ride home, what a great way to finish the working week. I hope I see some female cyclists on way home and not just the normal 20 or so males I normally see, shame.

BWD – I’m goign to keep count of all the female cyslists I see over the next week and report back to you next friday with numbers, watch this space. Riding on saturday and sunday so I might have to use my toes too. I hope the figure is high but I reckon its going to be the same kind of ratio of men to women who post on STW.

BWD…..yes, plenty of female riders out there BUT compared to the number of male riders…..

Believe me, my eyes are always open, its a joy to see female riders, a joy to see any female anywhere, they are amazing regardless of shape, size or colour….and this is coming from someone who works in a predominantly female workplace, has two teenage daughters who have lots of female friends round, a full blooded/bodied wife, a female cat and a bitch for good measures! I expect the koi carp maight be female too as they are beautiful. I should be sick of females – far far from it.

This country is too uptight by far – I’ve recently come back from beach hol where women of all shapes and sizes, of all ages and of all ranges of attractiveness just lounge around all day scantily clad on the beach not caring what they look like (well certainly not showing they care)…..its this show of femininity in other countries that make me realise that alot of peoples opinions and views in the good old UK are still in the Victorian days ie – dont show yourself if you’re not pretty. B*llocks to that, all women are mighty fine and should be on a level par with males.

Cherie, I agree with you that some females dare not speak up as they are out numbered which is a pity as IMO its not a serious subject this A&A lark and is open for all to comment and express opinions in a lighthearted way…..the same may not be true for other threads mind. IME females can give as good as they get and dont hold back in doing so……but I suppose thats just IME.

BWD, it’s a predominantly male activity……although I wish it wasn’t. Was at Llandegla at the weekend for a couple of hours – I thought it was a male only day! IMO the input from females on STW is proportionate to female riders out there. There’s normally encouragement on STW for the ladies to get involved. Females not treated badly IMO on this site as you implied, quite a bit of lighthearted banter/flirting when they do.

Everyone has different morals and I understand where you’re coming from but dont agree in the slightest. If it was morally wrong and treated women unfairly then I’m pretty sure they (females) wouldn’t get involved at all?

We’ve got the same at work for NCW and they’re asking us if anyone can promote the event and staff an area where employees can come and get their bikes checked over………….this is from an employer who wont do the C2W scheme as its ‘too much hassle’. Am I missing something? It’s a p*ss take. I do hope its a success though and encourages more peeps to commute on their bikes. I’m not too sure how the C2W…..is there a reason why working at a University (funded by central govt) that the C2W scheme cant be done?
