Somehow disappointed that city only scored 3, what a time to be alive!

Shall we just keep copying & pasting this comment for the rest of the season?

    Maybe.

    Alternatively in the workplace:

One to raise the job request, one to process the order, one to order the bulb, two to approve the order, one to receive the order, one to relocate the bulb to the required place, one to raise a work request, one to issue the permit to work, one to accept the permit, one to inspect the ladder, one to install, one to complete the invoice, one to allocate the invoice, two to approve the invoice, one to make the payment, not forgetting three to approve the supplier of the bulb.

If you want to sell it, put a price on it that you’d be prepared to accept.

If you don’t, put a price that you wouldn’t be able to turn down.

I’d forgotten about behind the Nationwide.

    DH, XC, Trails, natural, etc.?

    FOD any good for you?

If XC then I’m sure there’ll be some good routes in the North Wessex Downs if you want to spend less time in the car and more time riding.

Better to save a few goals for next Sunday.

Thanks for your replies and sage advice. I selected a pair of Scott Comp Boa in size 44 to replace my Shimano M089 in size 45. Lengths are almost identical, but the Scotts are definitely wider. First quick ride today felt good. I’ll put them through a more extensive test next weekend.

There’s no known long-term cure for upgradeitis. Even if you buy the most expensive bike out there with all the new ultraboost wheel size standards and 14-speed cassette, there’ll be something “better” that comes along at the next Eurobike show, and then that’ll be what everyone thinks they want instead.

I’d like to drive a new Bugatti, and park it outside my mansion overlooking Lake Geneva, but I make do with a 12 year old Skoda and the Severn Estuary.

Just enjoy your riding. The best bike is the one you are riding. Live within your means now and your future-self will thank you for it.

£2.50 Choc chip Panettone from Asda*.

(* yes I know it’s not the preferred purveyor of groceries for the STW demographic, but in my defence: I do park** in the Waitrose car-park next door)

**all be it not an Audi with an Orange 5 attached

…and Merrydown cider from the same venue.

Thanks BearBack, I hadn’t compared the stiffness index until you mentioned it. Looks like the ones I’m considering are rated 6, so hopefully more comfortable for all day rides, maybe?

Expected that would be the case, thanks for confirming.

Transcambrian, did over 3 days, but would be good to do over 2.

Welsh Coast 2 Coast (various route options. Did Caernarfon to Cardiff bay, but would probably choose to start at Conwy next time and spend more time traversing Snowdonia at the beginning).

What are the symptoms? (If you don’t mind me asking).

Are the WTBs that come with the Triple B not the TCS versions? If it’s running on the Comp versions, and you’re happy with them, why not get the TCS equivalents?

Probably worth mentioning where you ride the most, then others can let you know what works for them there.

If you don’t want to spend £50 per end, have you considered a Chunky Monkey/Smorgasbord combo?

Why not contact them via their webpage and ask?

I demoed one at the MBR demo day in FOD, I believe they were also at the Dalby demo day.

    You can’t polish a turd.

And now you can’t even roll it in glitter.

Probably about 50% of RRP or what someone is prepared to pay. I suspect you may do best by selling parts separately.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I’d missed theendurancestore from my own searches (focusing on bike shops), looks good, thanks andyb39!

lesgrandpotatoe: yes it’s an event. I will be eating some “real” food before, but find the effect normally wears off 3 hours in. I find it easier to spike my water with some carbs rather than peeling bananas etc. while riding. Who knows there might be an icecream van half-way round, but knowing my luck it’ll have a long queue and they’ll have run out of flakes.

mikewsmith: those shoulder chips sound appetizing, probably more suited as a recovery food than for fueling the ride though ;)

Search on Halfords works for me. Just note the price displayed, as my local store was selling it for double the web price but price matched it when I told them.

It’s only showing gels, bars and multipacks for me, no powders.

Scott Arms gets my approval. Not tried any others in that area for comparison though.

I know you’re probably right, I just expected the seals to be better on xt level and above.

It’s to replace a bb52 which didn’t last long, so thought I might go for a slight upgrade.

Not done the HT550, so don’t really know. However, I did find WTB Trail Boss light/fast-rolling good for the Welsh Coast 2 Coast. Run tubeless they coped OK with the descent at ClimachX, with the no punctures in 200 miles, and rolled pretty quickly on the Tarmac.

Or Vosges mountains in Alsace (fly to Basel-Mulhouse and get the train up).

In the region of £2K, but really depends on what your friend’s prepared to pay.
