My guess is the are both made by Van Nic ?

Brodie is not a van nic frame.

QR forks become obsolete in the near future,

    probably.

Sell your hub and buy a new wheel? difference in price will be the cost of a rebuild anyway i would think.

For a LARGE 29er frame i think the HX2 is not bad looking 😉

    RD, Fork travel 100-120mm.

just happens that i have a large HX2 at home so have taken a few snaps for you. Mount is flat, but i don’t know much about the whole Rohloff thing.

You can get Head sets to fit tapered and run a 1 1/8 fork, Hope do one and i think i have a few in stock too.

I’ll have to check the caliper mount. I have known at least one other HX2 used with a Rohloff and not heard of any issues, but can’t be sure.

Not sure about the lack of brace on seat/chain stay, not aware of any alloy HT frames with that brace? It’s pretty burly back there though.

Hx1 and hx2 (29er) are both EBB frames.

How about the Chumba VF2? Similar to the Spicy but lighter and less travel. Carbon rear end, 5″ travel.

Rear tyre is a 2.35 on a wide rim and still enough room for mud.

For me a lot of dark peak riding is a bit dull, views are nice and all but like the link above to the potato alley decent, hardly inspires me to go out an ride that hill. Maybe i have done it do death?

Also, whats with all the “i could ride that in my underpants on a penny farthing” boasting about?

People really get hung up over the odd detail and use of words in a conversation. I heard the interview live, and just knew some people would boil over what he said.

It was quite clear what he was saying, and a fair enough point. People like TJ are the reason why politicians have to act like moronic robots, much the same as other high profile people.

The only UK review i have seen was from SDH, plenty of US reviews are quite positive.

The platform is certainly bigger than MG1, DMRV12 and Flat boys, all those i have used before and are no more or less grippy than the Crampons.

To be honest hans Rey, there are not many Ti Holeshots around, and i am only aware of maybe three or four who are STW users.

IME the Holeshot is ace 🙂

If Brodie (rather than one of their fanboys) think we’ve copied them, they’re welcome to get in touch

    I don’t think brodie are worried 🙂

FWIW The 2003 holeshot had a 74 Seat angle http://www.brodiebikes.com/2010/archive/bike.php?model=holeshot&year=03

As has been said before, there are only a certain number of ways that a frame can be welded together, and there is plenty of room for the Holeshot and Alpine!

Si, dunno what it is about it, but every time I see a pic of the Ti Brodie Holeshot, I get momentarily lost in thoughts of “I’m sure I could afford it if I just sold pretty much everything else I own”…

    Just for you.. 🙂

thanks for all the advice, and i will have a play before splashing any serious cash.

Regards the f1.8 50mm, can someone point me in the right direction?

Depends what those situations are doesn’t it?

Err, some still shots of new product in out door situations as well as ‘action’ shots. I like the very blurred background look of still shots. The rest of the time it will be for days at the beach, in the hills etc with the dogs and wife.

Why did you get it with the 18-55?

thats what lens the camera is bundled with, no choice on the matter 🙁

As you can tell, im a novice at this, but am willing and able to learn 🙂
