    that EVIL is nice!

As mentioned have a look at the Chumba VF2. 5" travel, carbon rear end, 68 degree HA with a 140mm fork. Also it is a very versatile frame, can run 160mm up front and coil rear (I have a CCDB on mine)

Just about to do a rolling chassis offer for £1950, (coming to a STW banner ad near you!) Frame, Fox Float fork, Hope Hoops, Thomson stem and post and Chumba saddle and grips! Just need bar and groupset and its ready to go!

My own VF2, now with a few changes, Stans Flows and a few other bits.

Si at progressive bikes does 32' and float 36's (no warranty though which could be a biggie if you bugger forks like I do).

Who said that? The warranty (as stated) is with whoever you bought them from, so if you buy from me the warranty is with me, and i then take it up with Fox 🙂

    My thoughts precisely.

I know i sound like a stuck record but have a look at the Chumba XCL 🙂

I could build you a bike around the XCL frame for 2K that included Fox front and rear with a good all round spec.

Success! Used some CO2 and it went up just fine. It may be my track pump is a bit rubbish.

I was a 819/UST user for years and they were trouble free. Now i have my Flows inflated i think they should be fine.

    Update time

Spent 2 days trying to get maxxis Ardents to seal! I had a little success, 2 layers of yellow tape and the thing inflated after much huff and puff, then realised i forgot the sealant! Popped a bit of sealant in and now the damn thing wont go up! I think i need a compressor….

This tubeless lark should not be this painful!

2010 forks have the new FIT damping cartridge, supposed to give a more consistant damping feel and sit in the travel better.

What you really want is a Chumba VF2 🙂

seriously, the vf2 is a very versatile frame, true 4 bar ( like the zesty) but IMO miles stiffer than than the yeti. Very nicely made too. If you fancy a chat about the frame just drop me an email info@progressive-bikes.co.uk

The chumba frames have a very linear suspension curve, makes all the travel useable and works well with the RP23 making it feel like it has more travel than it actually has.

Fitted the yellow tape today, just need to fit some tubes to settle it down and then find some tyres tht will seal.

might keep the wheels after all…

how about the Chumba XCL? Tough, very tough but still builds light, will run 160mm forks, optional swing links to drop the BB and make it even slacker (only available in medium and large sizes) only 5" travel though….

twice as much as my whole bike for a slightly different bike

i bet your bike was twice as much as someone else's though, so why did you bother?

I have also been running Mud X through the winter, not tried them on the Stans rims tubeless but will give them a go.

I will get some yellow tape and give it a go, nowt to lose.

Running UST tyres defeats the main point of Stans though as UST tyres are a fair bit heavier than normal tyres?

    si-wilson

nowt different, is that not the point?

BH if you are going to use tubeless properly, you need to buy extra wheels

WTF, why? see even more faff and not too mention expense! I once had my tubeless tyre get a tear in it at a cold and wet windy Coed y brenin (sp?) . It sounds like i am anti tubeless, im not, just struggling to get my head around the Stans faff (word of the day is faff)

imo maxle is not all that, not the system but having bolt through rear is not that noticeable.

Chumba XCL, 127mm travel, really tough and stiff. 68 degree HA good for most riding, ideal 🙂

    What you got?

XS would be great for a 5'2" woman or man!

Spec would be nearly the same as this http://www.progressive-bikes.co.uk/xcl_build_kits.html your choice of Hope hoop rims, tyres would be different, and we could perhaps spec a Float if you dont mind 9mm QR?

In case you have not seen the XS XCL

Did you have a look at the XS XCL? Full build could be had for same price as the EX8 WSD.

5mm will make a difference, really?

Whats 10mm? Also you can internally drop the travel to whatever suits.

    White on blue 🙂
