For 3k you can buy an awful lot of bike. IMO buying the spesh would not be the best choice.

I like the look of the new Whyte, looks like a top quality bike and well thought out for your average UK riding.

Do you not fancy building your own?

You could reduce the travel on the 36’s, only takes 2 mins and would give you the 140mm you want for the trail centres.

Though you should ask yourself, is 20mm ‘really’ going to make much different either way? I would rather have the stiffer chassis of the 36 over the 32’s and you could still run them at 140mm, and weight difference, its negligible in the grand scheme of things 😉

you need some these to colour code with the rear hub 😉

My old man owns a fuel merchant business. Give him a call on Monday on 01234 376722 and tell him I told you to call and he will give some good trade prices. Only thing is you may have to buy full/ half tonne at a time. He is also one of the biggest suppliers of logs in the uk

Frame is a medium. Currently the bike is stripped as it has had a good fettling.

If you have a look on the Singletrack reviews section you can see the full bike.

Any questions just let me know.

Pete, we are selling an ex demo Chumba vf2 frame, full slx groupset, fox vanilla fork, hope wheels and Thomson stem and post for £1500. It is the same frame that Singletrack had for review. I am based in chesterfield if you wanted to view?

very nice! Looks like they have beefed the rear end up somewhat. Whats the geo like?

The Orange frames are better made IMO and work very well.

How about a Chumba VF2? Similar travel to the orange but is a 4 bar frame design and has a carbon rear swingarm.

but what about the squeeek though.

Some people find they squeak with 5 tens, others don't. Small price to pay for awesomeness 😉

I used to love the Azonic A frames, my previous all time best pedal.

    si-wilson

For sure they are not the lightest, but i bet they are the best pedaling, toughest light pedal there is FACT, maybe 😉

Seriously the Crampons are brill and im not just saying that cos i import them!

The fact that you are pedalling near enough on the axle means not only is your effective BB lowered (by 1/4" in most cases), you feel less of the dead spot at the top and bottom of the pedal stroke of a normal flat pedal. No other pedal is as thin without costing twice as much. The pedals are designed and used by the Canfield brothers for DH racing, so can take some abuse.

They are expensive (£115) but they are tough despite the appearance and i challenge you not to be impressed once you have used them (sounds like one of those "or your money back" adverts!)

The BEST pedals are the canfield crampons, thinnest pedals in the world and very light and still DH tough 😉

I am hoping the xcl will be a shade under 1k maybe even £900.

    si-wilson

No, the XCL will continue, Chumba still like the 4 bar bikes, We plan to make them the more affordable full sussers in the chumba line up.

Late Jan early Feb, though I can get hold of a few anodized red for delivery early October. Those are strictly to order though as stock is very limited so I won't have any stock.

I think 6" is around the sweet spot for this type of bike. The lower link is one piece so should be nice and stiff.

I am looking at a UK price of around £1450 and will also be dropping the vf2 to that price point. The new Evo at that price should represent good value against similar frames like knolly and intense with similar features.

A smidgen under 6" travel. 68 HA with Fox 140 and 13.5 bb height, 67 degree HA with Fox 36 13.75" bb. Adjustable sliding drop outs to lengthen or shorten whheelbase.

Medium frame will have a 23" top tube, though this is to be confirmed for sure.

Zero stack tapered head tube will accept adjuster cups to alter HA by up to 3 degrees. There will be two front shock mounts, one optimised for coil the other air. Both will alter geo too, numbers to be confirmed.

Not sure on weight, chumba expect a weight of around 6.5lb

rj, That is the new EVO and is not actually out yet.

I have around 20-30 anodised red frames available in a mix of small, medium, large and x large if anyone wants one before the general release date in Jan/Feb?

    Not many left now, 1 17", 1 18" and a couple of 16" and 19".

paul, if you need a fork let me know. I can get Fox, Rockshox and Thomson posts if needed 🙂

What is the headtube size on it? Can it take a tapered or 1.5 steerer with one of the new cane-creek headsets?

    headset is 1 1/8 50mm semi integrated.

Brodie Ti Holeshot, designed to work with between 140-160mm travel and with nice long top tubes and a 50mm semi integrated head set to keep the front low.

£1199 for the frame and seat clamp.

Nice post al. Can flat pedal users not demand more performance or efficiency from their pedals, some people don't like to be clipped in.

IMO the ultra flat pedals I have used are very good and do eliminate the dead spots when using flat pedals, also the extra ground clearance is useful.
