My bad, not had time to update the new frames, somehting that i will be doing this weekend.

I started this thread cos i was just giving the heads up about the fact that if anyone wanted a Chumba 29er frame then to speak up cos i wasn’t planning to bring any over, hence the fact i have not done any website updating etc.

Geo is the same as before http://www.progressive-bikes.co.uk/hx2_frames.html, designed around 100-120mm forks, HT is now a tapered jobbie, tubes are different, fully butted with a one piece seat/top tube junction and probably some other stuff i have forgotten!

Chumba XCL is 5″ 68 HA with 140mm forks, pretty tough by 5″ travel standards. Vid here of someone riding down A line on an XCL. Bargain £899 as well 🙂

    si. what travel is that?

Around 7″, though they are supposed to pedal like a much shorter travel bike.

It just looks like a Chumba VF2 to me only without the sexy rear triangle.

And also without the horst link 😉

onewheeltoofew aboves is a 16″, maybe you could swing a leg over his if he is near you and doesn’t mind?

    i’ll take a 15″ with a 22.6″ ETT Pllllllllllllleeeeeaaaassssssssse

Geo is not so rad as unusable, 67.5 HA with a 140mm fork and a 23.5″ TT on a medium (17″) frame, add the spring of Ti and light weight (3.5LB for a medium) and it is perfectly fine for all day riding.

Would a full built Chumba HX1 with similar spec and price to the Marin Rocky ridge appeal to anyone or do people prefer to spec their own?

Also, just had a chat with Chumba. They are clearing quite a few VF2 frames, mainly small sizes, but they do have large and medium in limited numbers. Very good prices too 🙂

The Chumba VF2 works well with 120mm forks (rear travel 127mm), will give a 69 HA.

What’s a Holeshot supposed to be for? I sort of assumed XC type duty but lowered 36s look very exciting…

It’s a Long travel HT, to ride everything on 🙂 I am hoping for a build around 25-26Lb but still planted and tuff enuff.
