Yep I use these . Just make sure they don’t give you a bag that has been at outside for a year! Then store them in the house or somewhere dry. Mine were crap when I first got them, now I get hardly any smoke. So get two bags, so you have one drying out.

I’m with santander and you can start the process up to 4 months before. So you might want to start now and lock in the deal with August just in case. You can do it all online https://mortgage.santander.co.uk/Default.aspx

I can’t do mine until at least January, so hoping things remain the same until then!!!!

Doesn’t look like you can set the wheel circumference on the computer?

Not looking at manipulating the speedo, just want it to show the correct speed at the moment, as I’m sure it must do on most other bikes.

Greenhill ( I live) /Bradway slightly cheaper than Totley and a lot cheaper than Dore. Closer to the main road to the M1. Nice community, bakery, cafe etc.

I’ve had a reply from British Cycling

“The third party insurance would not cover you for <span class=”markedxoi6gw5″ data-markjs=”true”>business</span> use. It only covers you for commuting to and from work, not <span class=”markedxoi6gw5″ data-markjs=”true”>business</span> to <span class=”markedxoi6gw5″ data-markjs=”true”>business</span>.”

So I’ve cancelled my membership and I’ll be signing up to cycling uk

Its the same with car insurance that it needs to be for Business use, so this is one occasion were cyclists aren’t been treated differently!

    Hi

A little past Dijon but we stopped here last year for 3 nights. Near Bourg-en-Bresse

    http://www.camping-ain-jura.com/fr/accueil-p1.php

Very nice campsite on the side of a small lake.

We then stopped at Camping de Meije which is at the bottom of a glacier. In La Grave.  Amazing views. Although you are packed in quite tight.

The Transcontinental bike race, for the first 3 years went to Istanbul from London and Belgium, so might be worth looking on trackleaders and doing a combination of routes backwards.

Definitely get a Sanef tag, saves loads of hassle and you can then use the 30km/h lanes so you don’t have to stop. You also don’t need to worry about having change or finding your card etc.

Eurotunnel have the usual discount on getting a tag https://www.saneftolling.co.uk/Eurotunnel-Le-Shuttle-Offer-Landing-Page

Looking at our account the toll totalled £180 for our trip last summer.

We did Sheffield to Riems in one day then after about two weeks driving around set off back from Avignon. We stopped at about an hr from Calais on the way back at a F1 hotel which are fine and all a long the road. In hind site we could easily have carried on to Calais and made it back to Sheffield. The worst bit of the whole journey is the Folkstone to home. Driving in France is so easy, helped by Adaptive Cruise Control!!!

It does really help if the kids are good in the car and kept entertained with DVD’s etc. If they are quiet then the hours can fly by.

Quick-step here in our hall, kitchen, back room and conservatory. Been down a year and it hasn’t got a mark on it. Very nice and lots cheaper than actual wood!

Seatpost in vice – Twist frame

I’ve had this happen on two different bikes – I’ve now learnt my lesson.

First time it seemed that Dettol Multipurpose cleaner (green bottle) and a long pole worked for me.

Second time I tried everything including coke. In the end it was seat off, spanner through the holes and the work stand as a lever.

Neither caused any visible damage and the bike carried on their lives in peace.

    Wish I had a vice!

Your work should have a policy on flexible working, read it.

When I went from full time- half time, it was informal request, then if that is rejected a formal request can be put in. More likely to be accepted if you have a genuine reason (childcare, carer etc)

PCP the full amount is added to your credit file. If you PCH (lease) then it is just the monthly payment. Plus leasing can work out cheaper.

Audax is what you need. Back in 2015 when I was training to the TCR. Race was in July. Previously all I’d done was a 100 mile ride max. January I started doing 200km rides on a saturday with a longer commute home about 35km a day.  Did about 5 then did a 300km, did some more and then did a 600km (370ish miles) in June 28hrs and 1 minute including stops extra and I did knacker my knees at 445kms so it was a painful last 150km!!! Obviously this takes alot of saturdays and an hour extra a day.

I’d say if you had less time, stick with 200km rides at about 8 hours as it gets easier, pedal faster . You are going to have to ride in the dark so might as well get used to it by setting off early like 4/5am  back at lunch time for family time/sleep!

I’m with virgin 20gb for £15. I used tethering briefly while in France for a couple of weeks and it worked fine also used it a few times in the car. Never had a complaint. Not sure if there is a way for them to find out?

I’ve seen this on Pistonheads –
    https://www.lease-hub.co.uk/

Not letting me post a link but 2L petrol auto Volvo V90 R Design is £167.99 + VAT on a 6+23 with 5k miles.

Works out at £5,846 for the lease plus £295 charge so £6,141 all in – about 16% of retail price

    On the website, select:

    Volvo

Then select V90 Estate (do not select V90 DIESEL ESTATE OR V90 ESTATE) as its only the V90 Estate in lower case letters that gives you the petrol deal.”

I use Ridewithgps for this, “Add/Remove control point” then export as gpx route. I did this a bit on Audax rides so I knew where the next control point was. Doesnt work on Wahoo Elemnt though!

I’d go Ultegra as thats the best gears you are going to get unless you intend to go Di2!!
But change the tyres straight away and saddle.
Then wheels, but wheels do make a massive difference as the fitted ones are heavy and not tubeless compatible (not sure about the 2018 version)

I’ve been “testing” our kids present. All games on the xbox are available within the age range you set. So Battlefield 1 they won’t be able to play as they are set as 7 years and below. Although you can give permission to override this. You do have to set them up with an account, so creating them an email address. You can also share the xbox live membership, there is some setting where you change it to home box.

Were are they? In Sheffield they just keep building accommodation for students, well over the amount actually needed. So yes they feel peer pressure to book now but really they don’t have to and shouldn’t. Anything could happen between now and next September, like they could fall out with friends, find better ones, quit uni, want to transfer, have to move home to care for family etc. Default definitely they should go to the accommodation office as they will have a list of approved landlords. Sheffield is just over £110ppw for new build flats sharing.

Chopped an old mudguard stay to the right size, so that it goes between the two mounts. I then used a couple of zip ties to hold it on the metal rod. Can do you a picture if that doesnt make sense.

If you want to make your bike “sweet”, I’ve managed to easily (As easy as sks are to fit) fit SKS 65mm bluemels over the stock 2.8″ tyres. Almost covers the entire tyre width, so 90% splash covered. I use mine for commuting mostly, so really needed.
