Cobb here. When camping for two weeks last year, I just used lump wood charcoal. Much quicker to heat up than briquettes, obviously doesn’t last as long but you don’t always need 2 hours of heat.

Do you have a Sony digital camera? Because there is software you can use, so it can be used as a webcam.

So two BSD storm prime RC cars turned up for Christmas. Surviving well with the curbs and crashes. So what do I need to upgrade first? We also have traxxas bandit, so id like to get them up to a similar level. On the storms I’ve noticed the steering is quite slow and when the battery gets low you have to lift off the power before they steer, so would a new steering thing sorry this? Then batteries? Fast charger? Ta

Try aquapel, one application lasts at least a year in my experience, was still going strong two years on the last car. It also stops the ice and snow sticking to the screen as much. rain X can be brought from Costco if you have a card, I did get some but it just isn’t as good.

EVO home here as well for 2 or 3 years. You can link up to google and ask what the temp is in a room, or turn the heating to 18 degrees. Been able to heat a certain room at a certain time is great and saves you money in the end.

    Costco
Not tried myself, but looked quite solid in the shop.

Yes, done it before. Will be getting them swapped at the service next week, on this one as well. Nothing wrong with doing this.

Zwift bases your workouts on your FTP, so if you are using the FTP calculated using your old trainer which is probably over estimated, it is going to be harder. I’d run a FTP test on Zwift and go from there. I’ve the Direto and not had any problems. Do a warm up for 10 minutes or so, then use the elite app to calibrate, then resume zwift. The trainer needs 10 minutes or so to warm up before running the calibration. Then no need to do it again for a couple of months (depends how much you use it!)

Not Halfords but. Bilt hamber auto foam, bilt hamber shampoo, gyeon wet coat for the win. Don’t mess around waxing that’s old school, it’s all about the ceramic coating. The wet coat you just spray on a wet panel and blast off with power washer. Job done and water will bead off for about 3 months.

Sorry about the referral link. Just seen that eurotunnel are still doing the deal where you don’t have to pay the application fee and the annual fee is less.

Yes I enjoyed my first non stop toll booth until I heard a massive bang and realised my bike was on the roof. In my defence there was no height restriction sign on that one. Checking at the next thousand booths it is completely random, if the height barrier is there or there is a sign? Luckily the roof rack snapped before the bike did, picked up some lovely string that held it on for the next two weeks and 2000km!

Honestly get a tag, for the small cost it is worth it. Saves so much hassle and you can then use the 30kph barriers. Monthly fee is 5 euro only in the months you use it, with a maximum of 10 euro a year. We got ours in 2015 and will be using for the third time this summer.
If you use the link below to sign up we both get 5 euro towards the monthly fee.

    <mod edit: referral links aren’t permitted, sorry>

another for Ultra Sun, not cheap but it is a genuine once a day application. Used the Ultra Sun Sport cycling across europe on the TCR and didn’t get burnt once. Applied when I woke up and that was it for the day. Also you could try sun sleeves from Morvelo or what ever to cover your arms, also gives you somewhere nice to wipe the sweat.

We have a 5m bell tent. Got it from the Dutch camping company online. Soon invested in the bedroom compartment which really changes the tent for the better. The bedroom keeps the sleeping area much warmer on a cold British bank holiday! Also adds another layer to the floor. We have two young kids and it’s great. Only issue is they is no where to cook. We do have a tarp on the front as well.

Boosted aka Boosted Board fame, have just released an electric scooter. Obviously not cheap! But should be good.

Only concern in the UK apart from not been legal is what would happen if you scratched someones car or had an accident. You wouldn’t be covered by any insurance.

Built hamber is one of the best snow foams for cleaning. Wax is old school now, it’s all about the ceramic. I snow foam them use gyeon bath+ shampoo followed by a coat of gyeon wet coat. The wet coat is really easy and lasts a couple of months, just spray on and wash off. My wife thought it was a good idea to get a black car, so this is now my weekly task!

Anyone tried using the Barbour wax instead? Is it the same stuff, just I’ve got a bit of the barbour wax left and could do with waxing the knees of my trousers.

Thanks everyone. I’ll get them to reduce the term. This is more of a priority at the moment than a pension. I can actually see the benefit with this unlike with a pension as thats just something that will happen in a few decades time, if I don’t die first!

    “SELF_CHARGING HYBRID” arrgghh!!

This is marketing talk that seems to be taking over, it’s not new, the old Prius was a “self charging hybrid”

The battery doesn’t magically charge it’s self and it doesn’t whip out it’s cable and plug it’s self in. They all use a combination of the fossil fuel engine and re-gen braking.

Sorry I spend too long watching fully charged video’s on youtube!!!

Sorry mine is actually a 2019 midweek year, so not sure if that makes any difference. Yep it is certainly burning fuel. I watch top gear and they are driving some 4l V8 or some super car and it’s doing 25mgh and think what is my car actually doing! Currently got an almost full tank (14 gallons) and the predicted range is 238 miles!

I’ve a 2018 v90 T4 rdesign. So same engine although slightly heavier I’m guessing. I’m leasing and went with petrol to save the baby robins. Currently averaging 13mpg in town and 26mpg!! overall after 2500 miles, it also has a small petrol tank, so make friends with the petrol station.
The rest of the car is really nice, only thing that is an option on the v60 that is on the v90 as standard is the pilot assist. Which is really useful on the motorway.

You could use Fat Lama. Not tried it myself but it looks like it works. They pay you to rent your item, Fat Lama takes a cut and the item is insured should they break it.

Headphones for the win, you can then hear the f***ers creeping up on you and which direction. Gamer tag for X box is the same as this, if anyone wants to add.

You could also get gooutdoors to price match and then save an additional 10%. Not sure they would match a voucher on a voucher?
I wonder if you could get them to match the reduced Blacks price, take another 10% off and then take another 10% for being part of the scouts???? £151…

Honey well evohome, more expensive but worth way more control.  Think of it like this.  When you want a light on in the living room you don’t switch on every light in the house.  With a central heating control this is what you are doing.  With evohome you can switch on the heating differently in every room.

First she has dropped you in it, and should be expected to pay at least some of it.

Second the university should have really gone through the consequences of withdrawing with her – if she has actually withdrawn at all or just stopped going? If they didn’t explain then complain.

Third speak to the student accommodation office and make sure they are advertising the room, as you never know someone may have come through clearing and desperately need a room, and some uni’s have students starting in January.

There are usually loads of students that drop out in the first two weeks, as they are home sick, wrong choice etc etc, so there will be empty rooms all over so the chance of actually getting someone is highly unlikely, unless its a new build right next to the campus.

Read the contract, sometimes with medical reasons you can get out of it, but you will need dr’s evidence.

    AirBNB it
