What about a pre-paid mastercard? With Monzo you can set a spending limit for ATM, card transactions and outbound bank transfers. Takes 48 hrs to make the changes. Also it sends me a notification every time I spend.

Just to add: Avoid LYCA Mobile. Today I’ve had 2 active card checks on the card details I provided (only provided to Lyca so I know it is them) to Lyca mobile a year ago. Luckily they have both been declined, as I used a virtual card (Monzo) which I had deleted after I cancelled my sim for a holiday.

No NAS so looks like 1gb switches will be fine.  Socket was to terminate the cable in the office, so that a shorter cable could be used to plug and unplug a laptop each day. Although if I used another switch then I could plug in the printer and I don’t need to cut a whole in the wall for a socket!

Also having the same issue with the Giro website! DRAKE30 gets another 30% off! But useless when the website is bust.

Not accommodation related but please make sure they have checked out the Scholarship pages as these often go to waste and Uni’s are desperate for Home PGT students.

We have gone from Black to a white car and white is easier. Black looks dusty really quick and if you don’t wash it carefully/properly you will soon have clearly visible swirl marks in the top coat.

Used this earlier, before spending the last 3 days decorating! No login required, really easy and picks the walls really well. https://www.visualizecolor.com/glidden#/

Garmin 45s (Something like that, basically the women’s version as it is slightly smaller). Both our 13 and 10 yr olds have had the same watch for a couple of years now and they still work, can record walks, rides, steps etc and get notifications.

So Windows it is. Anyone got any recommendations for an Intel 5 (There are so many varieties), 500GB,  8GB ram, wifi6E, upgradeable,  smallish PC towers, also ideally not full of bloatware. I could possibly self build but would need a full parts list as it would be a first time…Thanks

Good point about practice using windows software. They use this at school and we have another PC (Dell Insipron?? PC built into a screen thing) so not too worried about that. I guess another question would be around parent controls for the Mac, as at the moment we use Windows Family a lot to restrict time and site access, so whats this like on Apple?

Sorry should have said Laptop is not an option. It is only for home plus they have a habit of dropping stuff! See cracked screen on Ipad and Mothers phone!!

Another insurance question if you don’t mind me jumping in!

Added bike cover to home and contents insurance last year. Bike was stolen (B***ards). Come renewal time for home and contents and it is double. So removed bike cover only £30 reduction. So shopping around and it is a lot less BUT do I say I still have contents no claims years or not? Is bike cover treated as a separate bit or lumped into contents insurance? Thanks

    =INDEX({“Red”,”Blue”,”Green”,”Black”,”Mauve”,…}, MATCH(TRUE, ISNUMBER(SEARCH({“A518″,”A519″,”M6″,”B2157″,”A1234”,…}, C2)), 0))

Replace the ellipsis (…) with the remaining possibilities and their corresponding descriptions.

This formula uses the SEARCH function to find each possibility within the text in cell C2. The ISNUMBER function is used to check if a match is found, returning an array of TRUE or FALSE values. The MATCH function is then used to find the position of the first TRUE value in the array. Finally, the INDEX function retrieves the corresponding description based on the position found by MATCH.

Make sure to adjust the array of possibilities and their descriptions in the formula to match your specific case.

I think everyone on the motorway should have to actually do 70mph and keep a 2 second gap, I would be happy. The motorway would just flow rather than all this stopping and starting and lane changes etc. A volvo I had about 6 years ago, had a feature so that it would limit to the road speed unless you “really” pushed on the accelerator. If you know that your speed is limited to the max for the road, then you can spend more time looking out the front window than not at the speedo.

Closed within 2 pages as you aren’t allowed to talk about dog ownership, dog poo, people killed by “pets that wouldn’t hurt a fly”.

A massive recommendation from me for the Losehill Hotel and Spa at Edale in the Peak District. Food is not starred but very high quality about £300-400 for DB&B depending on room and time of year. We stayed in March and saving up for a return trip!

Tesla model 3 here full to the brim with camping stuff and stuff on the back of the car. We did this last summer Calais to Caen to Concarneau and then back again. So been a tesla it makes it a bit easier with the superchargers! But we had no problems on the long journeys, it was the smaller top-ups when we were somewhere that was more of an issue. We did use the occasional Ionity and there was usually a small queue. I would make sure you are fully charged before leaving the UK, so that you can get a good distance away from the point of entry. Good apps that worked in France where Bonnet and Octopus Electroverse. With these two to are mostly covered.

Anyone say Adobe InDesign? Setup the template drag and drop the photos and type in the text. Easy and much much better than Word for this kind of thing. It is really easy to get to grips with and you don’t need to know all the features.

Yes they are very good. Also work with wahoo computers. Unfortunately I haven’t got a Garmin, but if I did I would absolutely be using this add on for garmin computers

I’m guessing they will need a charger eventually, so maybe let the giant shop know, in case they or someone else goes in to by a charger. An easy way to reduce thefts would be for bike companies to only sell chargers if you show the bikes serial number?

    In before the close?

Other people shouldn’t have to deal with other peoples dogs or their poo!!

Telling a child to be still while a dog runs at or around them and jumping up, I’m sure that you would be happy doing that if you where the same scale as a 4 yr old and a dog at head height.

Would you stand still if a dog was the same height as you (Imagine a horse size creature) and it was running at you, no chance.

The owner in the original post should be reported simple.

We have just gone pebble dash. There are a whole range of colours. What put me off render is seeing the state of all our neighbors houses. Render going green with moss on anything not totally vertical, good luck trying to find the perfect colour match for any patches, you can’t paint it. Pebble dash will last a lot longer, easier to patch, and when you get bored you can paint it. Parents had pebble dash 30yrs ago, they just paint it every 5 or 10 yes and it still looks great.

The University will have systems in place. If they won’t contact the university you can contact them and give them her details and a description of the issue. They will then have a duty to contact her to make sure she is ok. Due to GDPR they won’t be able to give you any information about her but it doesn’t stop you telling them.
    For example

Two weeks in Devon last year, with two “pre-teens!!”, going France this year. Canvas 5m bell tent and poles on the Thule easybase, all sleeping mats and pads in the rear boot underfloor hole. Chairs, cooking stuff (Cobb, plates etc), table, basic beach stuff in the boot, all clothes in the “frunk”, then overnight bag in the passenger area. It honestly felt easier than packing the volvo v90 estate we had before! We do pack light and if we need bikes etc you can just rent them.

Ultrasun. Only one we use now, have done for the last 5 years. Doesn’t cause skin irritation on the kids and lasts all day. Also doesn’t strain everything it touches. Also comes in a sports gel formula. The best stuff.

So quick summary (But probably wrong and I know you will let us all know):

Dog owners or lovers – Its not the dogs we should ban its kids, cars, road bikes, chippy vans, lorries, alcohol, every other animal etc. If they didn’t have a dog they would have a rubbish life. Some restrictions would be welcome for unsuitable owners and breeds.

Non dog owners or haters – They walk down the street and are constantly attacked by dogs. Dogs serve no purpose. Manage to function without a dog! Some restrictions would be welcome for unsuitable owners and breeds.

Dogs do have a place but I think that currently they are been treated by some as a consumable, disposable item. They are also being promoted by the companies making money (Insurance!!, Food, accessories) from all these pet owners, they want us to buy more an more animals so they make more money, like a mobile phone!

Two extra points which are silly:

Why do dogs suddenly all need jumpers, coats, socks etc. How have they survived the chill before now or could it be someone is just making money?

They have had films and tv shows about every other person disappearing, electricity stopping, the internet stopping etc but never what would happen if all the dogs went!! makes you think.. 🙂

I’m not asking for a ban, just for people to give a bit more thought into ownership. Its not an impulse buy.
