hammyuk – that seems strange 😕 I’ve just been looking at a few bits and it offers me Royal Mail 3-5 days free… worth speaking to their online team I’ve always found them helpful with issues

A few friends used the Polaris Bag for Whistler last year and couldn’t fault it so I’ve only heard good things! My old bag is hanging on in there at the moment! BUT…very tempted for next year

Hammyuk, are you talking about the bike bags shipping? I don’t think £10 is bad for next day couriered delivery.. not a small item 😕 , their standard free shipping starts at £75 I think ….

Wouldnt ride with out my Aspect Glasses now, too many close encounters with dirt and grit in my eyes never mind the brambles!

I have to join the fan of waterproof shorts club as people say they do rustle but have saved me from many soggy afternoons in the saddle I have both Endura MT500 and Polaris AM Flux that I rotate in the winter, tend to pair with padded 3/4 bibs.

Jacket wise I only tend to wear a hooded jacket whilst getting the bike out the van etc for riding I wear a packable waterproof which keeps the worst off and a couple of layers 🙂

@Nipper99 Think the Polaris one is only £20 in their Trail Sale at the moment

    Apex Gilet

I ride with a guy that has one and he rates it, especially when the current weather can’t make up its mind:!:

Have to agree with @bullandbladder best trail shorts I have had are

http://www.polaris-bikewear.co.uk/AM-500-Repel-Mountain-Biking-Short-p/pol01-5333-p.htm, so comfy and a nice length

Also, have their Descent Shorts, wearing them at the moment with the sun showing its face, http://www.polaris-bikewear.co.uk/Am-Descent-Mountain-Biking-Shorts-p/pol01-5464-p.htm and looks like they are only £45 at the mo!

@dragon you have a very good point here. Personally, I don’t wear Rapha but not saying I wouldn’t either if I found the right product. The issue I have with a lot of brands is that lots of brands manufacture in the same factories on the same lines using the same pads, it is just sold to us differently.

We just pick how much disposable income we have and how much we would like to pay and how much markup we want to give the brand back in profit. If Rapha works for you wear it, if not the either support some of the smaller brands or buy online from DHB etc etc I guess the market is suffering from too much choice.. 😐

@ASC The worst one we have seen is one in a cardboard box that had obviously gotten wet out on the tarmac. By the time it made it onto the conveyor there were only bits of the bike and wet cardboard on the conveyor! 😯

Too protective of mine to take that risk

@scotroutes difficult for brands that used to sell mainly into the big retailers I guess, where the RRP would have been valid. Will probably come into line as more is now sold direct… 😐

Don’t think the bike market is too easy for anyone at the moment, I know our local IBD struggles and we try to go there as often as we can

    @monkeysfeet heard similar stories!

EVOCs are great for MTBs but personally I would travel with a hard case for road bikes just offers second to none protection.

@Kuco can only say good things about their bike luggage, have used it traveling with the road bike and the MTBS – nice to find a case so easy to pack and that will take even big DH frames comfortably.

Also treated myself to a few more bits in the sale cheers @stumpy01 reading the pad comments I think it depends on what level in their Range they are, I have their new Geo Bibs and they are one of the comfiest pads I’ve worn. The new stuff seems to be better for that I think 🙂

@ton I remember going along to the Polaris Challenges with my dad! Great events! Haven’t ventured out to try a bike packing adventure yet but since I love miles on the Gravel Machine it seems like a logical step (like everyone else not sure how a wild camp would get on :|)

Has anyone seen that they are bringing the Challenge back as an app??
    Gravel App Challenge

Might use it as a first navigational tester and it is free/local….

We’ve traveled a few times now to training camps with friends and after seeing bikes come a cropper with baggage handlers I would only use a hard case box now.

Can be a big investment depending on how often you fly but a friend of ours used the Polaris Pod pro hire service last month with no issues at all.
    Bike Pod Rental

Think they even have a day free offer at the moment maybe 🙂

    Hope that helps

Garmin sounds like a great shout, me and my partner are both super competitive and it gets us out and about alot, plus always a good excuse for the winner to buy the pub meals after! #balance 😉
