My Wahl one has just about given up the ghost after a good 10 years use so I’m replacing it with an updated model. It does eyebrows and also has a small detailing tool for those random hairs that seem to appear outside of your beard area as you get older

I’m in the conference centre watching the sea plans take off right now. Not sure I’d fancy it today as it’s peeing down and visibility is shocking.

I posted 5 days ago that the cough had come back and it stubbornly refuses to go away. But yesterday I met someone who swears by pineapple juice to get rid of coughs and a quick google seems to confirm that it works due to some enzyme. Anyway, I had a glass lat night and also one by the bed through the night and my cough has massively improved. The pineapple juice can’t me made from concentrate so I’m on the ‘Tropicana 100% Pure Pressed Fruit’.

Lucifer is worth a watch if you want to park your brain in neutral. Good chemistry between the 2 main characters in a sort of Mulder & Scully way with Tom Ellis being particularly good. The first 3 seasons were commissioned by Fox before switching to Netflix.

I saw a nice lego video recently where the kid had received a lego set from his grandparents. His dad setup the iphone camera in time lapse mode and recorded the kid building the set and then sent the video link to the grandparents.

Obviously the model was not as complex as the one above!

Half a million quid for a pub game 😉

I’m sure there are quite a few people posting crap on Instagram, YouTube etc who make more than that ;-)

I’ve had my cough for about 3 weeks now and recently started putting Vicks VapoRub on my neck and just under my nose before I go to bed as well as having the odd sniff from the jar during the day. It seems to have done the trick so I stopped using it for a couple of days but now it has come back.

We watched Snatch again last night. Nearly 20 years old and still a great film.

@Merak I’m a couple of stages ahead of you. Top tip – when you get to page 93 make sure you get the red and yellow female pieces are orientated correctly. I got to page 131 last night and realised the reds were Ok but the yellows were not. I was 3/4 through a bottle of red wine so decided retiring for the night was the best plan as it isn’t an easy task to fix.

As above, if anyone wants to trade after Christmas let me know.

It’s not clear when the monthly/yearly bonus payments will be paid

For example, if I start a new job on Jan 1st 2020 and get offered my bonus paid every month during March-December 2020 or as a one off payment in December 2020 I would go for monthly bonus payments.

I’m on a 20% bonus plan depending on sales and get paid over 10 months as above.

You get an automated message saying your account will renew at £39.99 which is the wrong amount and if you want to cancel press 1. I had a call yesterday, put the phone down and a q google search showed quite a few people have been falling for this.

Had another call today so pressed 1 and spent 10 minutes with the bloke seeing how the scam worked. He gave me a dodgy web address amazon9640webnode.com which I obviously didn’t enter but instead told him I was on amazon.co.uk and looking at my Prime account. He said the only way I could get a refund was by going to the above website and he was pretty convincing/persuasive.

I then told him I had found this was a scam which he initially denied but when I said I felt sorry for him that he had to make a living this way he crumbled. The cheeky fecker then asked me if I would financially support him as he was poor.

One scenario when transferring out could be beneficial is due to ill health. It’s no good getting £x per year and carking it within a few years when you can transfer it to a SIPP and have a good time for a few years and leave the remaining SIPP pot to your loved one, as opposed to a reduced widows/widowers pension.

If I had under £50K I would normally be looking at HL or AJ Bell to keep fees low, but I agree with footflaps and would avoid HL

A couple of companies are now looking to take action against Hargreaves Lansdown for punting Woodford’s fund when they knew it had some dodgy holdings. I’ve just registered with Leigh Day although Slater & Gordon are also looking at this and it will probably be a no win, no fee arrangement if and when it happens.

True but if you scrum half throws his passes anywhere except where they’re supposed to go it doesn’t help

100% agree. Youngs is not a great passer and rarely hits the receiver in the bread basket. He’s either too high/low or too low or in front/behind. Faf on the other hand was hitting his man very accurately.

Made it through apart from a particularly stressful day so I’ve just donated £20 to MacMillan for my Golden Ticket for that day.

As a few have mentioned Soda Water has been my go to refreshing drink with either Robinson’s crushed lime & mint (think non-alcoholic mohito) or elderflower and pear. They both sound a bit girly but work for me and are not as sickly as lime or orange cordial.

Well done to everyone who made it to the end.

Managed to procure a TV for some beer from a work colleague who has it cluttering his attic

Richer Sounds are knocking out a 65″ 4K LED TV for £399 if you need an upgrade

TV? I always feel that radio gives that extra edge e.g. Ian Robertson as a Scotsman describing Jonny Wilkonson’s drop goal to win the world cup, and I’m Welsh. The Rob Andrew “Yes, Yes” is the icing on the cake.

For the first time tonight I really fancied a drink but held off and just had tonic water. Just building up to my nightly almond milk chai which also seems to help me sleep better.

Almond milk, 4 crushed cardamom pods, sprinkle of nutmeg and ginger. Heat up in the microwave and throw in a chai teabag for a few minutes. Add sugar to taste.

I needed a drink yesterday after a particularly tough customer meeting but stayed strong and had a can of Nanny State in the Brew Dog bar.

I looked again at the seedlip spirit and it has mixed reviews on the Tesco website with 2×5 star and 2×1 star reviews:

“Bought this for Christmas for my daughter, it is disgusting we poured it down the sink.”

“Don’t buy a whole bottle without trying it first! Tastes like dirty pea water”

    I think i’ll pass!

Mrs S made spag bol last night and bought a bottle of red wine which she puts a 1/4 of into the pot, which means I usually drink the rest of the bottle as she doesn’t drink red. I spilt the remainder into 3 containers and put them in the freezer for future cooking duties /selfrighteousnessoff

First stay in a Hilton tonight since I made Gold tier which gives me access to the exec lounge and therefore free drinks in some hotels. I managed to restrict myself to a sparkling water which surprised me.

What’s the thinking on fasting rides? I did 2 laps of Harrogate yesterday and felt I couldn’t have gone much further. Second lap was 1 minute slower than the first lap even though it felt more difficult. I really put some effort into the KOM second time around but only matched my 1st lap time. Also, what to eat afterwards?

We just came back from Malaga and have used Helle Hollis for the last 4 years and they are excellent. They don’t even check the car when you get back at busy times, which proved useful this time as I didn’t quite get reverse when backing out of the parking bay and put a small but noticeable ding on the bottom of the front bumper.

Really good interview with him this morning on 5 live link and it brought a tear to my eye when he was talking about his parents.

He also mentions that his HIV is not transmittable which was news to me as I assumed everyone who has HIV could pass it on, but apparently not link

Watch BBC1 at 10:35 tonight for his story.
