I ride there quite often but it was still tough, that said I hadn’t really done much leading up to it. Weather as always on the Mynd is super changeable, sideways rain & headwinds most of the day.
    Finished 88/250.

    camwba96 – here’s my 2 penneth.
You’ve posted lots of questions on here about steel 29 ers recently, including questions about my bigwig.
Why don’t you actually go & ride some of the bikes you are interested in & make your OWN mind up.
What I think of a bike will not be what you think of a bike.
    Etc
    Repeat to fade.

Get some of the cheap CRC Revelations if they still have any ? £250 IIRC. Mine came as 140 even though they are advertised as 130 but you should be able to take them down to 120

    Thanks Clink
If anyone is interested it climbs perfectly with the longer fork & descends as you’d expect :-)

:lol:This thread is pointless as you are all discussing bikes with an obsolete wheel size anyway*

I have an e mail from ragley saying how much fun their bike is at 140mm so I’m not worried, the BB on mine at 120 was low & I did get pedal strikes. Just plugged the rev into mine, looks a hoot ! Pm me & I’ll mail you a phone pic

The safety standards for bike helmets being what ?
    BS or BS EN ?
    I genuinely don’t know
By the way, a CE mark is NOT a third party approval ( like BSI for example), CE marks do not mean it has had any sort of tests done on it for performance

Looks like mine are 140mm too, happy days

    I’ve just got a bigwig & am v impressed
Well built frame & paint finish very good
If you wanted to see how it rides I’m on a large & midlands (west) based, you’d be welcome to give it a try.
Was built with a 120mm fork but will soon be 140 :-)

Me or the bike ?
The bike, no. It flies. Weighs in at just under 30 lbs with pedals, not a mega lightweight but the wheels & tubeless set up spin up to speed nicely. Point it down anything & it comes alive.

    Yes, mines a 20″
Pics show with a 120mm fork but just pulled the trigger on a 130mm Rev :-)

Let me guess Tom, you ride an orange 5 ?
Anyway, if anyone is actually interested in how it rides, it’s superb. I expected it to be great downhill but it really surprised me on the climbs, goes uphill better than any other hard tail or full suss I’ve ridden. V pleased.

No offence to anyone. FWIW I ended up in Sunderland, which is pretty much a smaller version of the above… But at least Sunderland has the saving grace of having some glorious countryside nearby to escape into.

Yes, because there’s absolutely no glorious countryside near Wolverhampton to escape into
Shropshire must’nt have been moved by that point when you visited

I’ve just bought some reba 29 RL Ti with a 20mm axle off of singlespeedstu, they are v nice forks. Come as 80-100-120 & you can (un) space them to suit. Cheers Stu.

Had some on my nickel, for the money a good fork, stiff ish with the 15mm maxle, easy to set up & quite plush. Good fork for the money. Don’t think you’ll find much better.

I can’t link to them from this tablet but I’ve just posted some on my Flickr account if you search for shropshiresi you should find them :-)

First impressions are its a nicely finished frame, paint seems good quality, only ridden it around the carpark so far as not had chance to get out so will post back when I’ve done so. I’ll see how the 120mm fork goes for a while but will consider getting a set of the Crc Revs whilst they are cheap to keep as spares, then unspace (new word !) them to 140 :D
