Hey Zippy. The 2022 Comp with the 700 wh is what I went for. Absolute beast of a thing (purchased from RaceCo). What I would add, as mentioned with others, is 100% buy from somewhere where you can get it to should it need aftersales support. I loved the look of the Canyons but the thought of having to box it up and get it back to Germany in the event of an issue vs driving 20 minutes to the dealer was an absolute no brainer for me.

Seconded. RaceCo & in particular Rich have provided excellent customer service to myself and riding buddies. I have a 2022 Levo Comp and am loving it so far.

With all the talk of countries offering military aid etc how exactly is this getting into the country?, and will this military aid arrive in time to be deployed to bolster the Ukrainian army?, are the armaments currently sitting in a warehouse waiting to be collected?, will the ground troops need training in how to use it?

Im pretty cynical as I can’t help but feel this offer of aid is akin to the offers of financial and logistical support often pledged after national disasters that never materialises, smoke n’ mirrors etc.

Stanton were trying to launch a ‘preloved’ frame service a couple of months ago.

it would be worth contacting them to see if they got it sorted.

Clee Cycles was broken into on Wednesday night and 15 bikes were nicked. We should keep an eye out for any dodgy looking for sale posts.

PS if you come over to Bridgnorth to look at one let me know and I will show you some of the riding we have (not much but some loverly woodland !)

a lot of people want to put Hope on for example – hen hat might be an option.

When are Hope releasing the new hen hat model ?

Drop into the Outdoor Depot at the bottom of the high street for some good advice. Dont bother calling into Plush Hill cycles as they are in Telford now !

Afternoon. I’ve just joined the Strava Group. Kind of opposite for me, I’ve just got back into MTB since giving it up for running 2+ years ago.

If anyone is in Shropshire and wants to run in some good hills and maybe some fell races I can recommend the Summer series organised by High Sports in Shrewsbury. The fell running scene is great, so low key and some great folk.

Anyway, hope you all have fun this weekend. I am off to Wales to do the Siabod Challenge – 20 miles and 8,800 ft of climb. OK its a hiking challenge but it would be rude to not run bits of it :)

BTW I will appear on Strava as me, Simon Rollason :)

Good luck buying Halon unless you’re an airline with special dispensation. It was banned a long time ago.

Water, you are only going to be dealing with an A class fire risk (wood, paper, textiles) as classified under BSEN3 (extinguisher manufacturing standard).
Powder isnt great in confined spaces (its been written out of the current British standard in commercial premises within confined areas, cant remember the size of the area it refers to).
There’s no need for CO2, plus there are inherent risks with a CO2 extinguisher that you dont need to expose yourself to – much higher operating pressure than a water extinguisher (15 bar), risk of frost burn (if you dont buy a “frost free” horn model), plus they’d cost you a lot more.
Final bit of advice, get one that has a BSI Kitemark or LPCB certification. Buying one that just has a CE mark isnt any verification of safety test or performance.

All these posts & no ones has mentioned any bike of any wheel size being “chuckable” or even used the phrase “makes the trail come alive” !!

    Thanks gents

To clarify, the glass itself is totally fine, its just these black foam strips, on the inside.

FWIW would it do any harm sealing over the strip that’s become damaged ?

Snapped my left one & resulted in an operation & 3 pins this time last year.
Eat your greens, take some cod liver supplements, use the turbo & enjoy le tour !
A year on I’m not too bad, not got 100% rotation in it & like bregante says, mine hurts like hell on cold days & clicks like a MF
NHS Physio was surprisingly good, had some private Physio too which was s***
I do remember thinking when the cast came off, how the f am I ever going to use this again ?! My forearm had withered away, shoulder muscle all gone from being in a sling & my hand looked like a lobster claw.
    Anyway, all ok now :D
    Good luck

    Woodc….oh

Wrong title- should be “What road bars?”.

Not really, as its a cx bike, which is why I asked what bars people ar using on their, erm, cx bikes.

    I’m a 34″ waist & own 2 pairs of large. Fit perfecto.
They are really good with refunds too. Be prepared for uber slow delivery though, probably over a week IIRC.

And I’ll add mine like mikes broke after 1 ride but has been fine since. Took it to leisure lakes wolves who just took it off me & ordered a new one (I bought it from them online, obvs). I’d rather have one than not (in summary) & for £100 it’s worth a go eh.
If i could add, is the Unit a 27.2mm post ? Do superstar have that size available ?

    shinsplints

I’ve got one. Bought it after losing my mind with 2 reverbs needing constant warranty return.
I like it although I wish I had a remote, it’s fine on trails you know as you can anticipate needing to drop the post. Sometimes the one handed actuation method isn’t ideal but I’m probably being fussy.

Koval – don’t worry about the weight, these bikes need a dropper post ! So much fun with the seat slammed !

NICE Koval ! Glad you feel the same about the longer fork. Did a 48k event on mine yesterday with 4200 ft of climbing & the front end didn’t wander once !
Love mine, dropper post recommended. With the seat slammed it feels like a massive bmx !
