Just ordered a x large, I’m 6’1″ and will be running a 35mm length stem. The top tubes on the shans are not overly long so would recommend a large for your height. I’m bases in Birmingham, your welcome to try mine when it arrives, but it will likely be too big.

I’m just building a production shan, costing £1600 for frame, forks and wheels. Rest of the kit I’m transferring from my current bike.

Depends on what you are looking for,do you just want to try it out, try out new kit or are you passing through as part of a tour? Largest and easiest place just north of Birmingham would be Cannock. If it needs to be in Birmingham are you looking at any specific areas?

Current reach is 416mm, Xl Shan is 437, large shan is 404mm.

On that basis I guess I’m looking at an XL?

Based in Birmingham, I think i’m in between the large and the XL and currently favouring the XL with a 35 mm length stem, or maybe even the 25mm pacenti stem/bar combo once available.

Will go measure the reach of my On One as its not published, then compare.

Just recently purchased the Hoy Bonaly 24 for my daughter who’s about to turn 7 but is very tall.

So far I am impressed, good build quality, very light (8.6kg) and comes with decent tyres to start off with.

18inch here as well, the production shan seems to come in realy odd sizes, in order to get the length top tube I want, it looks like I’ll need an xl, however I’m only 6’1″

I replaced my steel 456 with the C456, the geometry was definitely different.

What’s your budget, now is a good time to start pc gaming with the range of affordable but great performing graphics card that are available. Do you need a full build including operating system, monitor and keyboard & mouse.

Any fluid leak from the pistons? I’ve suffered from this too many times on shimano brakes.

According to the website (chase Trails) only a small part of FTD is closed and some of the DH runs are closed for maintenance.

So still plenty to ride, i’m riding there Sunday too but its only 30 minutes away from me.

Currently ride an 18inch C456 and I’m 6’1″ so assume I’ll best go for the large model.

Also looking at th dartmoor hornet, just wondering how harsh the rear end would be. Coming from a C456 which are rather tank like anyway so not overly concerned about rear stiffness. I really like the production shan but only just bought a 31.6 Thompson dropper.

Suspension should be compressed when setting chain length by letting the air out of rear shock or removing shock.

When the suspension is compressed by the riders weight and trail impact the chain length needs to be long enough to allow for this to happen. Otherwise you’ll have a snapped chain or tear your rear mech off.

I also find it strange people are quibbling about cost on STW given the amount most of us spend on bikes 🙂

I’m merely talking about the gaming experience in term of Cost and quality of graphics. (PC games are also a lot cheaper, but also doesn’t have a nice 2nd hand market for games, though this will be the last generation for this I believe).

Also, this generation cannot last as long as the previous (8years)as the new consoles are already a little long in the tooth.
