I always thought that startegy was one of Red Bull’s strong points

I don’t think Audi or Haas are interested in Colapinto, unfortunately, however Audi might change their mind of he keeps this up. That said, is he keeps outperforming Albon then I’d be feeling a bit twitchy if I was him!

Quite! Colapinto has really shone, shame there’s not really a seat for him next year

I suspect that his role may be more than just designer, possibly not team principle but definitely as more of a big picture guy, in a vaguely similar way to Niki Lauda at Mercedes perhaps

It looks like McLaren might finally be amenable to using team orders, with the delay being down to Andrea Stella simply not considering that the Driver’s WC is feasible

Seems all that ‘think of the rest of the season’ they were pleading with Lando in Hungary should have been ignored.

    Quite

Wonder, come the end of the season, if Lando will be looking elsewhere if he misses the WDC by less than the number of points he’s missed by the team not favouring him when they could have switched cars. That’s 10 now.

I know, it’s baffling to me that the team isn’t doing more to support his bid for the drivers championship, it makes them look like they’re a less than serious team

Looks like Kevin Magnussen is going to have to sit Baku out. Good news for Bearman!

Alonso, yes – Max, not yet.

Not sure why, Verstappen has shown himself to be every bit the driver Alonso ever has been, which is why he is widely considered to be one of the greats and talked about in the same terms as Schumacher, Hamilton and the rest

    shermer75

Verstappen is one of the all-time greats

Nah, he’s got a way to go to prove that

I think it’s fair to say that he’s one of the all time greats in the same way that Alonso is also thought of in the same way despite only having 2 world championships.

Did I miss something? Has he been confirmed at Aston Martin or is that just speculation?

No official announcement, just a lot of F1 types saying it’s a very poorly kept secret at this point

Thinking about that , it will be interesting to see what role he has at Aston Martin, it may be more than just the designer

Red Bull’s woes are the result of Newey leaving,  since handing his notice in, the development of the car has floundered,

A couple of the pundits on Sky today were saying that Newey’s value extended far beyond just the car design, and that he had very valuable input in many of the other decisions at Red Bull, including strategy. Make of that what you will, but they definitely have taken a turn for the worse since he handed his notice in.

At that rate they’ll lose the constructor’s championship in the next few races

I’m fully expecting them to lose their lead by the end of tomorrow, and to be third behind Ferrari a few races after that

That’s 1-0 to Franco Colapinto then

Giving a seat to Lawson or Schumacher is just giving your potential future rivals chance to practice and improve themselves at your expense.

Both Toto Wolff and Horner said no to Antonelli and Lawson respectively, Horner because they might want him back ‘quickly’ (!) and Wolff because they have a very carefully laid out development plan for Antonelli inc practice days in the 2022 car etc which they don’t want to have disrupted

What was the interaction between Duplantis and his team mate in the audience? They looked like they were punching each others chests?

Yep, as above, you’re going to have to be very rehab focussed to find a path forward, starting with a visit to the physio

Sounds like your tore your quad a little, keep it moving and load ot as pain allows. The thing to watch out for is if the whole frint of your thigh gets red, swollen, warm to touch and painful, (compartment syndrome, call an ambulance) but tbh it’s been 2 hrs so unlikely to happen now

I’m surprised Red Bull haven’t changed Sergio Perez for Valtteri Bottas, who is also experienced enough to handle the volatile dynamics of the team and has a proven track record of being a very reliable number two and regularly bringing in a valuable points score while at Mercedes

That Scalpel looks amazing, it’s def built for speed rather than all day pootling tho. You might be fine but I would find my hands and neck getting a litttle achey after a while

Historically, when they’ve been defeated previously there’s been a lurch even further to the loony right before they drift back to the centre to become electable again, so I’m guessing Kemi Badenoch?

As pointed out above, they are in a really interesting bind though. For the first time that I can remember the right wing vote has been split between the Tories and Reform. As a lefty this is very satisfying, as we have been trying to manage this for decades! It does make it hard to predict what will happen though, especially in these social media fuelled divisive times.

Re who would I like to see elected, it seems that Tugendhat is the least loony so I guess him?

There is some evidence to suggest that muscle hypertrophy can be improved with metabolic stress (1-2 mins between sets), however there is also evidence to support that joint health is better maintained with regular moving and loading (30 mins between sets). So, choose your goal I guess!

Of course none of this is evidence of cheating. Its just not normal.

This is all it comes down to. The amount of people going out their way to explain how normal it is when it so blatantly isn’t, is a bit surreal.

A desperate out of control dive bomb into a corner, causing a collision and somehow it’s Hamiltons fault, go figure”

    I’m pretty sure no-one is saying it’s Hamilton’s fault

Shame it’s not a grid penalty for behaving like a childish **** though.

Genuinely surprised that he didn’t get a penalty for causing a collison at Hungary tbh

It’s a fair point, Horner needs every ally he can muster considering the power struggles at Red Bull, and Checo might be one of those allies

You’ve been lucky enough to have a warning shot, but if you’re smart then you’d be doing things to reduce the risk of the next one and telling your friends and family what the symptoms are that they need to look out for so they can call the ambulance, strokes are very time critical and every minute counts

If you replace the broken ones then get some spares as sooner or later you will need them (I did on my road bike & taped some spares to the frame – one day I needed one to get home

I’ve only ever had J bend spokes, are straight pull easier to replace at the roadside? Or is there a trick with J bends that I’m missing! To be fair tho, I have centre lock rotors which can’t be removed with your typical multi-tool

Not quite sure why the knives are out for Pogacar, considering he got soundly beaten by Vingegaard last year, and it looks fairly reasonable to say that the only reason he able to gap him this year is because of Vingegaard’s injury. Or is everyone assuming that Vingegaard is also doping? And, by extension, anyone else who does particularly well? I don’t want to point out the obvious, but if the only evidence that is needed that someone is doping is that they are winning stages then it’s going to make it a pretty frustrating sport to watch
