MM yes we left him in his crate when the cats were in the room so that the they could see him and get near to him to investigate without him jumping all over them (try this for a few days until the cats feel comfortable with him), we also have a child’s gate between our living room and kitchen so that the cats can be fed in piece this has worked well and we’ve had no bother. I have tried posting some pictures but not 100% sure how to do it. I personally wouldn’t worry to much as the cats will soon put him in his place if he gets over excited with them assuming it is a puppy your getting, hope this helps

Hi, had our BT since Aug 2010 and he gets on great with our 2 cats (cats are 7 & 2)and have lived with us since we had them as kittens. The youngest cat purposely torments our BT then jumps up out of the way until he turns his back then he pounces again, it’s very entertaining to watch. They do need a lot of exercise and can be quite destructive (Digger has destroyed several lots of nice dog bedding)so I would definitely recommend a crate.

Was up there half hour ago walking, carpark is locked and the road up is pretty slippery but I managed to drive up to the wheel in my Peugeot106. We walked the road up past the cabin then come back down the trail on the second section and i can confirm there are no tyre tracks on that section. I think It could be ridden but would be very difficult. I would say better riding conditions than last saturday morning.
    Cheers

Think it’s gonna be a good while till the ice has gone as everthing has been frozen for so long now. After today’s ride was toying with idea of making some spike tyres with a pair of old fat alberts I got in the garage

Yes we usually ride cwmfelin and Machen but have done Cwmcarn the last 2 Saturday mornings and both times it has been pretty extreme. Was wondering what it was like over this side, went for walk up the line earlier and that was like an ice rink but then it’s in the shade all day.

Yes, managed half a lap this morning then picked up the walkers path back to the bottom near the steep concrete ramp. Set off about 9am and most of the trail was compacted sheet ice, not a lot of fun and was even difficult to walk. I live local and been riding there approx 5years and it was the worst condition that I’d seen it this morning and wouldn’t imagine it to be any better tomorrow (Sunday)
    Hope this helps

Hi yes, the model shop advised I used 16% fuel. I know there are adjustments to be made to the fueling but not sure what screw does what, will have to revisit the model shop
    Thanks

Thanks Zedsdead, new glow plug fitted, if I prime the engine it will run for approx 20sec and then it cuts out it’s as if it’s not dragging the fuel through for some reason

Hi have you considered a 675 Street Triple R, my father had the standard Street triple and it was a stunning little bike with plenty or torque and plenty quick enough for the road (Check out all the reviews in the bike mags). I was looking for one when I recently sold my 04 ZX10R but her indoors told me that what ever bike I bought to replace my ZX I had to keep for at least 2years so thought it best to stick to what I know and bought a 07 GSXR1000. I now regret not buying a STR, well worth a look.

    Hi Jonny
I would recommend the Ardent downhill specific maxpro 60a for a good front tyre, the tread seems a lot more aggressive than a standard folding Ardent and the extra volume allows you to hit things harder without the worry of punctures plus they are pretty fast rolling.
This is what I will be buying next weekend along with a standard folding ardent for the rear
    Cheers

This Guy is bonkers, put his name into you tube and there’s plenty more. You worry about doing 2ft drop offs. LOL

Me and the old man both bought bontrager Mud X done one lap of Cwmcarn and took them off they were absolute sh1t around there but then again it is quite rocky, would imagine they are ok for light xc use in muddy conditions. Our choice of front tyre at the moment is the DH specific 60a Max Pro Maxxis Ardent non folding 2.4, we find the extra volume gives a really plush ride and the tread although the same pattern as the folding Ardent is alot more aggressive and the grip and feed back is amazing. We live 3 miles from Cwmcarn so ride ther often along with the surronding mountains, hope this helps.

+1 for namastebuzz comments, a friend has the joystick and although small and compact is definatly not worth the money when compared to the deal extreme torch, the same friend has an exposure Max D and the deal extreme torch is near enough as bright as the Max D. The thing some peope dislike about the DE torch is the weight but personally this doesn't bother me.

Try the Four4th website i've got one myself and am very imprest with it. I got a bar mount for my Four4th light as I use a DX torch on my lid but they were designed for helmet mounting (insert joke). Kicks out more light than my mates Maxx D and it's so small you would'nt believe.
Or try the Deal extreme torch which is quoted as 900lumen and approx £45 for the torch, 2x batteries and a charger Bargin.

MFcat I will be putting them on a Orange 5 and the extra 1/4kg wouldn't really bother me (I've got to lug 14.5 stone up the hills anyway lol).

I ordered one last night but im mounting it to my handle bars. I will let you know what its like when it arrives. Try the tunnel hill trolls forum a few reviews and beam shoots on there (all good reviews). I was told that with the spot lens it will outshine a maxx d.

    Hi Shortcut,
just after your views on the light. I have just sold my lumicycle halogen set up to buy an LED light and looking around come across these four4th lights.
I was looking at the maxx D but this is £100 quid cheaper. Is it as good / bright as your maxx d?
I will be bar mounting it as I have just bought a DX 900 lumen torch which I have mounted to my lid.
What lens would you recommend for bar mounting spot or wide?
Is the spot tight or does it give enough throw to the sides

Your comments would be much appreciated
    Best regards
