Yes knuckle thread form looks like a visual fit , found some mentions of applications on railway carriages.  I thought it might be a railway related item because of where it was found.  Area has had lots of work done to reinforce the cuttings / banks – perhaps it is a  civil engineering widget ?

Had a rear tooth whipped out on Wednesday after mulling over the Root filling option – was for sure the quickest option. No real pain from it so far (touch wood)

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned home grown (Bristol) talent.
I re-watched Wallace and Gromit a matter of loaf and death yesterday and I can’t think how it could be improved.

I might be up that way for a jog around on Saturday if not p***ing down. Will carry out a tyre track count and Let you know. Must admit as soon as the bluebells are out it will be really difficult for me to not go for a ride in what I’ve always condidered my backyard (after climbing up the Portway of course!)

Racetrack wouldn’t take long to clear when we get OK to go in. Was up there on Saturday morning for a run and checked out Shrine, One Who Waits and the Racetrack. Was good to see the Shrine has been left alone by bikers but at the same time sad to see it covered in leaves and “resting”.
Bumped into 2 riders on the GP2 and stopped and had a chat. One lives in the Birdlip area and was unaware of the current issues regarding biking. I did not see any signage on the Tyson’s plot to inform uninformed riders.
Hope there is some news soon fromNE as I would hate to miss the first bluebells of 2012.

Was amazed to see a bumblebee earlier today and a ladybird at the weekend. Hopefully will be allowed back into my local woods (Cranham) in time to see the bluebells by bike.

C-Tek (Cheapist one they do) keeps my MX5 ready to go during the winter months. Not had any problems with it and has extended the life of what was a tired battery when I got the car.

    Hello WTRFPSU
The lower part of the Shrine rides right over the water tank shown as a covered reservoir on detailed mapping of the area . Deffo not a secret bunker or Jimbo's HQ!

Not teccy enough to post the map up here but can be found on the County council Rights of Way website mapping GlosMAP http://prow.gloucestershire.gov.uk/website/ppp/viewer.htm

Agree with dobiejessmo regarding litter. seeing as it is a scheduled site and we are a a bit cheeky riding on it, digging and littering does not do us riders any favours.
