Wenger is running a business though, very little debts, good academy, good stadium. Liverpool is a terrible business which is why they can't find a buyer or decent manager.

By the time you do a couple of runs round Stainburn and head over Norwood way you will put in a couple of hours no problem.

Stingers work well for me, not much drag if you keep them lubed. I've dropped a chain once, on a very rough section of trail.

    Freeborn might have them too.

St Gervais map arrived today. TMB has been pushed to a 2 dayer, I was thinking about trying it in a oner but there is too much altitude and rough terrain involved and I don't want to miss the scenery doing it in the dark. There is a report on the 10fity site where they did it in 2, breaking in Courmayeur, looks like the way forward.

Trient – The variante du Vallorcine is a great bit of singletrack.

Lac Blanc – That is a very rocky area, doesn't seem to be popular on bikes, never been up there in summer.

Dunno about the Index run, that is a nice fast express chair though.

Nick I've never biked off the Midi, I've skied a couple of routes from the mid station which finish on walking trails but I am pretty sure the top sections would just be meadows or gulleys in Summer, and its a couple of years since I was up there.

I was there in August last year, with limited time on my hands but I might give it a crack this year. Depending on the lifties and how busy it is I reckon they would probably let you on the lift, as long as you got out at the mid-station.

That side is quite steep so I would pick something that doesn't lose elevation too fast or you'll be carrying down. There is a big traverse over to Montenvers from the mid station. From Montenvers there is a trail which is pretty much all descent, but not too steep, coming out at Planards, that might be a good bet but it could be a mess of rocks and roots up towards Montenvers.

The IGN are best, obviously the Chamonix one, but it doesn't cover everything. The Samoens one covers some of the stuff between Brevent and Servoz, and the GR5 to Morzine. The St Gervais one covers that part of the TMB route.

Bel Lachat – Looks steep in person and on the map.

Aiguilette des Houches – After the push you can descend from here back towards Merlet, this is much more rideable, great run back to Brevent lift with a wee push near Merlet & Gaillands.

Going towards Les Houches from the Aiguillette there is a pretty epic looking trail down the ridge, I've been looking to figure this out because there are loads of trails lower down towards Les Houches and you could end up a couple of km out of your way unless you pick the right options at the junctions.

I'd be surprised if there was much snow by late June, but they had a very good winter and some of the trails on Grands Montets and towards Trient don't get a lot of sunlight.

We met a very nice lady who runs Jack Frosts when we were out for a meal one night, it might be worth giving them a call.

My missus wants one very badly. All she will ever do on it is shop on the internet, use Facebook, and possibly do some basic photo editing. She has no expensive hobbies outside rabid consumerism so she thinks its justified compared to buying a laptop.

Just thought I'd bump this, are Wingnut having problems with reliability? I have been seriously considering one for a couple of big rides, I don't want to spend money on something that will fail and wreck the ride!

Stingers work very well. I thought I might get away without one on my new build, shorter rear mech and chain, but I have one sitting here waiting to go on.

4000m then, over that distance isn't too bad. I reckon I can make it round, just worried about pacing for the cut-offs and nutrition/fluids. Might invest in a wingnut, my preferred bike has no bottle mounts.

What is the total climbing involved? Did 1900m in 4.5 hours last weekend and felt alright on it, big question mark for me is fueling because I've never done such a long day before.

Spray-on plaster stuff is pretty good to stop it weeping everywhere. When I was in France last year I was using disinfectant spray with the plaster spray over the top once it had dried a bit.

Occasionally you will get a silicon-type mesh which is supposed to be non-absorbent and acts as a barrier between the damaged skin and the dressings to stop them scabbing together. I was told to leave this on when changing the dressings.

I followed a biker for about 3 miles yesterday evening and he nearly wrote himself off twice.

First time he slowed way down for a right hander, leant it in, then mid-corner he started looking down at this foot (gears?), turned too far and nearly swerved into oncoming traffic.

Second time he tried to give it more welly though an open left hander with a dip on the apex, as he hit the upslope he drifted way left and nearly hit a garden wall.

I was watching all this from a safe distance and probably driving a lot slower than usual on that stretch of road, it is frightening how easy it is for somebody to get out of their depth on a motorbike.

More home-ground advantage than a Heineken Cup semi-final.

Both of those choices are terrible, why not get something proper like a 330i/d?

330d is one of the most disappointing cars I have ever driven, just nothing special about it at all.

Had a 456 and now a Blue Pig. The 456 is a lovely frame, only gripe is the cable guides. When I first got on the Pig it felt a little bit lifeless in comparison, but once you start pushing it comes into its own. The Ragley soaks up a bit more trail chatter but its also stiffer under pedalling/loading through corners. Its a wee bit better on steep technical climbs. I doubt you'd be disappointed with either.

Could be druidh, they are a decent sized business but organisation doesn't seem to be a strong point. I have a month or so before I need the stuff but I am wary of it going out of stock everywhere and leaving me high and dry.

My item was sold out UK-wide. it has now been re-stocked into other shops but not the one I ordered from. Even if my items have been ordered later and were in a queue I would at least expect a realistic lead time. I am not in a mad rush but its 8 weeks since I paid, the items are in stock elsewhere, and I've basically been told to continue waiting for an indefinite amount of time.

It doesn't have as much of a chemical taste as the SIS stuff. It doesn't seem as salty as the Torq and it doesn't quench your thirst as much. Torq probably tastes nicer but the 4:1 seems to give more gradual energy release.

Depends on the attitude of the shop I imagine. I have been waiting for 6 weeks for something, it has been restocked elsewhere but when I asked for a due date I was basically told "don't call us, we'll call you". I'm pretty close to asking for a refund and going elsewhere, not as much because of the delay but the attitude that I should just sit and wait indefinitely.

Got to be the Golf really, depreciation on the Renault will be ridiculous. I looked at the Megane a couple of years ago, lovely car to drive but if I'd bought one I'd probably have 3 or 4 grand less to put into my next motor.

A child could step on that, impale themselves, it'll go septic and have to be amputated, then little Jimmy will only have one leg.

All because you rode your bike on a Footpath.

Dear Lord, won't anybody think of the children?!

3 Studies proving that protein-based recovery drinks are better than carbohydrate-based recovery drinks, this is a landmark moment in sports science.

I'm not angry at all, but every time there is a question about supplements on here 75% of the replies are from people saying that a pint of milk and a banana will see them reet. Most people that train at a good level take supplements, whether for ease of access to decent nutrition or because they believe it gives them a performance increase.

Yes awhiles, and that is why professional athletes drink nothing but milk to aid their recovery.

If he is taking it from a manufacturer's point of view and it is all theoretical you are probably not far off on margins. If he is being judged on the design/construction with no criticism of its profitablity/viability/marketability he will be fine. It could be a completely innovative product with unheard of applications or it could be a really heavy, inefficient canoe/sailing dinghy.

And people complain the our education system is not equipping students for jobs in the real world. This country is literally up the creek without a small run bath produced electrically powered motor to save us.
