We had ours in a moses basket beside the bed so she could see her mum. They cry loads at the start anyway but when ours wasn’t sleeping we eventually discovered it was a combination of colic and a milk allergy. My wife cut out dairy until she stopped breast feeding and it worked really well.

For all the flack mumsnet gets on here its a good way to get some suggestions and see what works for you and your kid.

My wife has a Vitara. Its alright but its got a very short top gear and is really noisy on the motorway, I try and avoid doing longer runs in it.

We looked at the Rav4 and XTrail, both of them were much better cars, particularly the XTrail, but she insisted on the Vitara.

The Volvo’s steering is almost completely weightless, very uninvolving to drive and the interior is a bit mleh as well.

I am pretty sure the Golf R is 2wd.

I think we’ve established that they haven’t been mis-sold, and that fine doesn’t mean perfect.
    So no problem.

So if somebody sold you something that wasn’t as expected, and then refused to answer your calls and emails to discuss the matter, you’d be happy enough?

So is everybody defending the guy who mis-sold the wheels and then hung up on the buyer and didn’t bother contacting him again, knowing there was a problem?

Newsflash, b r has decreed that the over-sixties shouldn’t drive in snowy weather. They’re much better off tramping around in the snow in sub-zero temperatures.

Ends in an hour, professional-spec machine with a steam wand. £149 is way below list for these, even direct from Lavazza.

I could have it with you in 2 working days, mainland UK 😆

Postage is £10 not my previous guestimate of £50.

Saying he is talentless or “its not really humour” is clearly nonsense, a lot of people find him very funny.

Nobody is making you watch him, he goes too far at times so if you don’t like it don’t watch.

As for Jordan, maybe she shouldn’t have spent so much time on the lash whilst she was pregnant.

Sprints are 60 notes on here and KSOs are 70, thats a decent discount. It almost seems too good to be true…

Thanks for the pointers, I think I might go the whole hog and get the Vibrams.

So apart from the Vibram Five Fingers what decent “barefoot” shoes are out there?

I’ve had to pish on my cassette a couple of times this week to clear out the snow – should I be taking less sodium to avoid rusting the drivetrain, or more to help with de-icing the cassette?

    Its all so confusing.

I had a lot of problems with it when I was a kid, you can get exercises from the physio. 3/4 tights and gears might sort it out.

Steering straight, edge backwards and forwards, should sort it out.

Don’t drive anywhere with it locked. I found my sister practising reversing a trailer with my Hilux once, full lock in 4H did not suit it. When I suggested that she might have noticed something wasn’t quite right she said “Yes it was making angry noises and jumping about, so I thought it wasn’t happy”.

Fluid was dirty transparent with a hint of blue, and the damping is definitely gone, sounds like the shaft seal might be the problem.

I had this problem at the weekend – 6 month-old RP23 with fluid pishing out of the air valve.

I’m hoping a new seal kit is all thats required.

What kind of machine is it?

Its all powdered soup, the best you can hope for is a cup-a-soup standard.

I stuck my V8s back on the other day after damaging a pedal, now they feel too small underfoot.

I have the MSRs, they are brilliant. I’ve seen a lot of TSL ones break, it can be very frustrating.

I really want this to be true but someone I met who’d been said it was $hit as you have to spend all your time queuing for buses, for lifts, for food, for buses again. His exact words were “do not come here to ski!” (nb I know this is a snowboarding thread)

Prove him wrong – is the dodgy lift system that much of a problem?

Most of the dodgy bits have been removed. New Brevent bubble, 6-man express chairs on busiest bits of Brevent, Flegere and Grand Montets. You would need to make an early start in the busy weeks but the only bad bottleneck is the bottom of Flegere.

You will get on any of the lifts at any time over the summer, with the exception of the Midi.

You’ll meet surprisingly few hikers with the exception of the TMB trails, most of which aren’t great riding anyway.

I’ve been taking vitamin C for a couple of years but this winter I’ve been taking Glutamine and it has made a big difference, my wife and kid have had a couple of colds already and I’ve been fine.

In the interest of balance, my wife takes multi-vitamins, iron and vitamin c regularly. I refuse to take any of it (in the interest of a quiet life I will take vitamin c if I am in the middle of a really bad cold). But my wife has no more nor no less colds than I get. Sometimes I am worse than her, sometimes I get nothing and she is hit sideways.
IMO the whole lot is rubbish and a waste of good money.

Has she tried Glutamine? Have you?

I started it after reading positive reports on another forum and seeing it recommended in the Joe Friel book as a boost for the immune system under heavy training.

Its basically like having a sleeping bag for the upper half of your body. They’re great for standing around in the cold for extended periods or for being comfortable in the cold without bothering with loads of layers.

Some kombis are definitely classed as cars, they have the CO2 emission info, speed limits, tax bands etc in the PDF brochures on the VW website.

Its important to know if you are thinking of running it as a company car because the BIK could get out of hand on the higher-specced models.

If I really want to bang them down into the piste for a short tight turn they also are compromised compared to something strong like a Scott.

Mine are not strong enough to push myself up from a fallen position, they flex too much.

Was on Warren Smiths ski course – he winced and told me not to bother…

TurnerGuy you could ask a guide, and the majority of them would have a pair of telescopics…
