I really enjoyed myself, the last 20 miles seemed to be hill after hill but nothing to bad. The crowds through Bewdley were amazing, In fact the spectators everywhere were really good. I’ll definitely do it again next year.

I went yesterday, I quite enjoyed it. I loved the Van Nicholas with the titanium lefty truss fork, I had to keep going back to look at it. There seemed to be hardly any fat bikes and a lot of ebikes. The Mars stand gave me the most freebies I’ve ever received, loads of protein bars, sachets of protein powder and drinks.

I’m doing it, I had a new hip 18 weeks ago, I think I might struggle. I’ve never thought St Kenelms pass was too difficult but it might bite a lot of people due to it being towards the end. My start time is 8.35.

I park at Marston Green station, free parking and only one stop from NEC. There’s a couple of races on Saturday afternoon, it’s worth a trip if you like bikes and geeky bike stuff.

I’ve followed his attempt on twitter, and what he’s done so far is incredible.Spending 16+ hours a day in the saddle for 2 and a half months is not something I’d fancy doing.
He’s going to smash the previous record by about 43 days which is amazing.

I work at a car factory, our company car scheme is wth Ford so a lot of my work colleagues drive Fiesta St or Focus St. I havnt really heard a bad word said about the Fiesta St, relatively quiet, nippy, looks ok, and fairly economical for an ST. It is ridiculous at knocking off time though, its just like a big Ford race.

I had a new hip 9 weeks ago, i also had a catheter for a couple of days but had a spinal not a general anaesthetic. I was going to the toilet every couple of hours for about 2 weeks. Toilet habits are back to normal now.

If you have a good LBS they should be able to sort something for you. Mine sorted me a Solaris frame and other bits and bobs.

Well today has been a good day. 39 days after having my new hip i had my first ride on an exercise bike. It felt really good to get my legs spinning again especially as there was no nagging groin pain, in fact there was no pain at all.

I used a very good LBS that put a generic bike worth a grand on the invoice and let me spend the money on what i wanted in store. I’ll be doing the same again in about 3 months time.

Im on day 25 of recovery from a hip replacement, ive got a while yet before im back on the bike. Went for a walk today using 1 crutch, only managed about half a mile and suffering a bit now.

Well i had mine replaced on Friday morning, i had a spinal block with no sedative. It was very surreal as you can hear everything, a lot of hammering, drilling and sawing, but could only feel the movements in your bones. The worst part was when they lowered the screen when they finished and the surgeon gave me the thumbs up while completely splattered in blood, like a scene from a horror film. But im up and about on crutches now but very sore and stiff. Cant wait to get on my bike again.

Im having mine replaced on friday. Ive been waiting for about a year to get it done and i really cant wait, short term pain for long term gain (hopefully). My surgeon said he’d be happy for me to get on a stationary bike after 12 weeks if i heal ok. Still cant decide whether to have it done under general anaesthetic or while awake.

Should have been play-off contenders but now relegation is more likely, hopefully good old Harry Redknapp is gonna save us.

I failed again 5/5, but today I received confirmation of a place in the Brompton world champs. Unfortunately I’m now scheduled for a new hip at the start of July. Maybe next year.

Bristow’s comments are loathsome and he is an odious individual but, regrettably, is representative of a
proportion of the UK population; to be more specific, the english population and a proportion which is more than many would wish to acknowledge.
Remove the oxygen of publicity from Bristow and others – and terminate any/all media contracts.
This will not remove the vermin or eliminate their views but it will be a start.
I have little doubt that he will have said Brexit is, in part, about reclaiming control of our own laws but when asked to state which laws he is particularly concerned about…….adopt the goldfish facial expression – mouth opens and closes but no words emerge, eyes blink blankly, no answer, don’t understand the question.
Eric, why don’t you just stick the dart into your eye and let us enjoy you?

I would happily watch him stick a dart in his eye, but what has brexit got to do with anything that Bristow said.

My better half has one, great fun to drive, very fast and superb handling but it’s very loud inside. If Im in it for a long drive I find it really annoying, but she loves it. My sister-in-law has a Countryman Cooper SD and that is much less brutal

I really can’t see why this is a big deal, it is a little bit embarrassing at worst. He isn’t exactly breaking any laws. Typical British journalism, if they don’t like something they try to destroy it.

Today I done my first road event, The Tommy Godwin Challenge, 100km around Warwickshire and Worcestershire and back to Solihull. All very pleasant and well organised but I don’t think I’m a lover of road riding.

Talk to your LBS, I got a Solaris frame and various bits from mine and they even built the bike up for me, all done on cyclescheme. Total cost was £1000 will pay back about £750ish after final payment, so still worth it for me

I can wholeheartedly recommend that you do not move to Chelmsley Wood. It is terrible for biking, nearly all the pubs have been closed and we have a big problem with the youth on moto-x and quad bikes. But it is much better than Alum Rock

I currently get 34 days plus we get 1 hour off for every week we work, so we get an extra 52 hours each year, plus every 5 years you get an extra day off. Not bad at all really.

I worked in a factory that supplied sunroofs to a car manufacturer, I had to scrape a coating off the glass using a scraper for about 9 hours a day. I lasted about 3 months. I wouldn’t mind doing a job that was so simple now.

I work in a big car factory in Solihull, everyone was told by trade union reps to vote to remain, a lot of them young people had absolutely no idea what they were voting for. Some of them genuinely believed they would lose there jobs if they didnt vote that way, and that was there only reason for voting. So I don’t think it was just people who voted to leave who are ‘uninformed’ or ‘uneducated’ people on both sides had no idea what they were voting for.
