Garmin cust support sucks.

I lost the cadence sensor for my unit and they claimed i needed to buy a whole new unit at $60.

In the end I used the magnet from my old blackburn, worked fine, then I was on a website the very sensor from garmin at $6.

Their cust support doesn’t even know their own products, or just wants to generate sales.

Try escalating as that is a ridiculous policy on electronic goods that do go wrong

if mogrim’s advice doesn’t work it might be that the design of your lever won’t fit (Traines usually come with there own), so just get a suitable QR off wiggle – flat ends with cam as far in as possible

4 down hill miles here (blimey the wind cill adds) but only cold fingers.

nice and crisp and clear – much better than bloody wind that was blowing for the last few weeks :)

I’m doing Etape Caledonia that day, but have signed up for the White Rose Classic in June – 110 miles through the dales, but not such a big climb.

Enjoy

Read this a while back Around the world on a Bicycle

In 1884, Thomas Stevens left San Francisco on a Columbia high-wheeler with the outrageous goal of becoming the first man to ride a bicycle across the United States. When he reached Boston, he decided to continue around the world, and soon sailed to London for the ride across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The high-wheeler was heavy and cumbersome, his supplies were limited to socks, a spare shirt, and a slicker that doubled as tent and bedroll, and much of the country he traversed was wild. Yet he persevered, recording his colorful and often harrowing adventures during the three-year odyssey in a classic of 19th century adventure and travel writing.

Barking mad bloke, who seems to have survived on his innate self belief and Colonial arrogance. Good read though :)

A few of my weekly pics this year were taken with the Vignette app on my android phone.

I really like the effects it can give

pixelmix, I thought about this last year but settled for a photo a week, and it worked well (just need to choose one for this week and I’m done :))

I felt that I had more chance of not failing.

I enjoyed it and still found it challenging to get a shot each week, it also helped my photography I think, anyway you can see for yourself, Weekly Photo 2011

Now I need to choose my fav for the year as the cover of a photo book, thoughts welcome

Ultimately we get what we pay for in this world.

What they provide and what we are prepared pay for are out of alignment.

We are paying for a mondeo and expecting a porche.

We either pay more or cull all the bits that we aren’t prepared to pay for like subsidised mail to remote areas, daily deliveries to the whole country, local post offices etc.

(sorry if that has already been covered but can’t be arsed to read through 3 pages of the same arguments)

It’s not to bad for 7 weeks, but it is a bad time of year. that line suffers from a lot of issues and with winter ahead i’d be prepared for some long long journeys.

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered.

Religion is answers that may never be questioned.

God this debate is so boring :(

Q – How many atheists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A – None. Atheists don’t see the light.

Q – What do you get when you cross a Jehovah’s Witness with an atheist?
A – Someone who knocks on your door for no apparent reason.

so how much did the bank holiday for the royal wedding cost us, not to mention the extra holiday next year for queenies big celebration?

bollucks argument if you ask me

I find a good solution often needs a clear requirement, and I’m not sure that this is clear.

I think you are over complicating, surely for the formula to work then you will need to amend / add data, therefore you are likely to be just as quick in the long run by manual filling the cell with a colour.

oh and it’s “of town which”

20-25mph down side of a dirt track, bush grabs handlebars and pulls bike down a ravine, i thankfully go straight on and end up futher down the track with only scrapes.

car turns right just as I’m about to cross junction – headfirst over bars, landed on back of head, hemet saved skull, cambelback saved spine

but the one that still gives me the shivers is the 100 ft fall down a mountainside whilst scrambling. Split leg, split side, grazed scalp and chipped coccyx. I remember thinking that I’ll stop soon, but didn’t, then realised that if I hit my head it could be bad, just at the point my head glanced off a pointy rock, couple of inches other way or slight angle change and rather than a graze it would have been a hole in my skull. Could sit down for 2 moths and not very good with exposure anymore.

Pointless debate, people have there views and risk acceptance levels.

having been hit by a car, landing on the back of my head, looking at what was left of my helmet, I will be wearing one when ever I’m on the bike no matter what research views are expressed.

I don’t care what other grown adults do, it’s their choice based on perceived risk

any use of race in/as an insult is racist.

but for me the key point here is what CaptJon said

CaptJon – Member

Fans can get banned from a club for the same thing, why shouldn’t the same standards be applied to Terry?

Clubs/FA can’t have it both ways and not ban players no matter how well paid or good

cheers all.

given the biggest problem is the spray off the front wheel on the fast downhill roads i’ve gone for a set of toepeak defenders.

but some of the other ideas may well see themselves on the off road bike over the winter.

cheers again

I thought about doing a 365 project.

In the end I settled on a 52 week one. felt that this was definitely achievable but that 365 was going to be hard and it’d end up putting me off as if I wasn’t succeeding

Results so far
