Well, we’ll at least have another militant cyclist, given his bail restrictions, the only way he can get about is on foot or by bike

    Abu Qatada’s bail conditions

Tagged and allowed out of his home only between 08:00 and 16:00
Banned from travelling on the Tube, or by train, car, motorbike or bus
Banned from contacting a number of named individuals
Only family members, his lawyer, emergency workers and social workers can enter his home without approval
Banned from using mobile phones, computers and other devices
Banned from attending mosques, leading prayers and giving lectures
Needs approval to take a job or enrol on a course
Allowed one bank account and must surrender his passport

Now, I think the real point here is probably that cycling didn’t even cross their mind, or if it did they’re perhaps hoping for a slight mishap with a car ???

sorry for the hijack, but Grumm and Capt.K, do you actually sell much from your sites?

    Seems a very competitive market

    ooh can I share :)

Just got a new road bike too.

Lots of deliberation about wheels so went for the Fulcrum 1’s in the end.

Will report back if any issues

Spesh Roubaix (as I’m old and need the comfort – which I must say it is. 100 mile ride and not as tired as 50 on my old bike)

The one thing that gets me is the people on here that comment on bad grammar never seem to bother explaining why it is bad.

    Educate, don’t just slag off

Thanks again, guys, should have made it clear that I am looking at 10 speed cranks as wanting to move to double chainset over the triple for the commute duties.

    Thanks all.

Sounds good. I’ll be keeping the triple shifter and 9 speed mech just bodging the high and low settings (works a treat with the Middleburn duo I run on the hard tail)so we’ll see :)

Honestly have to say that to me all the psychic powers pish is a load of pollocks.

I do however believe that the Tarot (and the IChing) are incredibly good tools for providing a structured framework for thinking about things that are troubling you, even if it’s just what model of bike to spend your cash on

when, I was about 12 once told an anti jewish joke (not that I really realised at that age) in front of a jewish woman.

Had it very politely explained to me why it was quite offensive. I was mortified, but politeness did shape my development, I’m now very aware of prejudice and the effect of stereotyping.

And I realised that most jokes that appear to rely on stereotyping can be just as funny with out

    define sideburn.

How far below the ear does it have to get before it is classed as a sideburn?

How bushy does it need to be?

It’s not like they have been bought out, just raising their profile

really who cares, it’s all capitalism big or small

and for the record Howies sold out to Timberland (and have since bought themselves back, so independent again)

This all just seems a) Unneccesarily complicated b) Slightly paranoid.

or the symptoms of a mild case of OCD.

I like a clean inbox, so have rules that file incoming mail to certain folders depending on who the To: bit, easier that setting up a host of rules on the From: bit.

probably to much detail but any hoo each to there own, I wouldn’t worry about it

I tend to keep bikes (thankfully have the space, well it’s just a pain putting the car in the garage)

    Sold two bikes:
Salsa Bandito – built it up but didn’t get on with it – 8 months
One One ss – killed my knees – 4 years (mostly sat in garage)

    1 stolen
Nigel Dean MTB, with Campag Group set – 2 years

    2 broken
Kona Cinder Cone – 4 years
Police auction road bike – 3 years

    rest kept.
    airborne Lancaster – 5 years
    spesh eduro – 9 years
Cannodale M800 (beast of the east) – 16 years (now on commute duty)
Copi San Remo – 8 years – now on turbo duty, cause it’s shit on the road
MB Dronfield Road Bike – 20 years (recently resprayed and up dated)

Only one currently owned bikes was bought new

    n + 1 and all :)

I’ve never understood the hiding spending on bike parts (or anything for that matter)

Unless you are spending money that you need to keep the family feed and the roof over your head then what is the issue with being honest?

If you are doing the former then you do really need ask yourself a few questions

    What’s it all about?
