Freehub rotates when you try and tighten the lock ring on my Tacx Neo 2T and my previous Tacx Flux.

I got some thick marigolds to stop my hands getting oily and they do a pretty good job of tightening the lockring without the whip which I do find quite tricky as you say.

Pro Gold but as above wipe off the excess. Clean chain first applying it. I stopped using GT85 to clean the chain as it has teflon which seems to fling the oil off.

I feel your pain, OP. Had exactly the same problem in last lock down. 10 speed on my wife’s bike and 11 on mine. Never really found a good way to do it. Shimano cassette packing spacer thing is a bit fiddly and not that great. Doesn’t help that the turbo is down low on the ground. I just left the tools by it and got some rubber gloves which as good for tightening the cassette against.
I did think that some kind of long magnet could be the solution but never got round to trying it.

I bought my Focus ST estate back in 2017 for £23.6K and it is apparently worth £13.3K looking on autotrader. Not too bad for a car that will be 4 years old in March next year. Probably get £15K selling it privately as they seem to be advertised for about £16K-18K on Ebay/autotrader.

We bought some stainless steel Meyer ones from Amazon for £78 last week and they look pretty good.
These are £220 on Argos and the most expensive saucepans they sell!

Have had an LG 55 OLED since December and every now and again think “this is a great picture!”, especially Netflix.

LG make the OLED panels for Panasonic, I believe.

It turned up! 10 days after posting it was Delivered to Customer Service Point. Think that means the local Delivery Office. I wouldn’t call that delivered myself. I told the buyer and he has withdrawn the Non Delivery Ebay Case so assume he must have it! No feedback or reply directly. I hope he is happy with it.

Just to say I got a refund today from Easyjet to my credit card. I filled out the online claim form on the 24th April and left it at that. Took 56 days but they got there in the end and I didn’t have to phone them.

Cheers for the wise words above. I won’t panic and will tell the buyer to hold tight until next week. It does look like it might still turn up. Fingers crossed!

Otherwise, all that effort for -£32. (OK, my fault for not using the right service)

The canyon seatpost has a lot of movement. You can visibly move it by leaning on the saddle when off the bike. A bit disconcerting at first but rate it now.

Leigh Day weren’t great the time before last but Bikeline were really good. Definitely recommended.

I am 1.8m tall and have always had 56cm road bikes in the past (Tarmac) and went for a medium. Changed the stem to 12cm (got it from Canyon as well). Great fit. Super bike!

Six weeks waiting for a refund now. I have a feeling that nothing will happen until I phone them after 90 days.

Nothing for me after waiting 29 days since my claim went in. Not waiting 90 days as that is ridiculous.

It was recommended to me and we are pretty pleased with the results

Only been out a couple of times on my road bike for about 30 miles each time. Going through villages and residential roads there are quite a few people on the pavement. I look behind and if there are no cars coming I swerve out a bit to give a bit more distance. Easy when the roads are empty but when they get busier it will be more difficult. Long term I expect the number of pedestrians to go down a bit I suppose.

Also, I was waiting in a pavement queue (all of us 2m apart) to get into the local Costcutter and a runner runs past us all, about a foot away. The muppet was wearing an Ironman Tee Shirt.

I just use the mtb ones on my commuter bike. Recently got some new G03S from Sigma for £7.70 each.

I don’t have any alpine descents on the way to work.

Lifetime tracker here which means that our monthly interest has just halved. Doing OK, still working so giving the savings to the local food bank.

Have you moved the rubber hood on the lever? I found that it can stop the inner lever moving if rolled up.

We had some blood from a raw turkey run down the condensate pipe at the back of the fridge. Gathered in a small box above the warm compressor and started to really whiff!

I had a fortius for about 8 years and loved the VR routes on Atlantis and Callisto. I could ride the routes with another version of myself (from a previous ride) to try and beat (some great workouts). I used to do last 60 Km of Milan San Remo and climb Puig Major in Mallorca on the video rides. In fact I took about the same time to ride PM in real life!

When that software stopped, I got the TTS Advanced and used it for a few more years on VR routes mostly.

I had eight good years out of it. Fixed the slipping roller with araldite and rebuilt the connector. Sold it for £100 about 3 years ago and bought a Tacx Flux which I use exclusively on Trainer Road.

I use a Tacx Flux with trainer road and have just started my winter training. Used it for the last 2 winters but last summer I bought a 4iiii power meter and thought it would use the power from that for indoor training to. It was rubbish, just as you said. Ended up disabling the 4iiii in the TR device menu and just used the Flux power. Someone above said that you can do a long term steady test comparing your power meter to the Flux output and apply a correction factor. I’m not that bothered as long as I’m progressing.

Just use the Tacx Flux power to do the Erg mode, it seems to work well.

As mentioned above, use an EZ out or damaged bolt remover. I got mine from Screwfix years ago. One of the best tools I have ever bought. Will be out in less than a minute.

Don’t know how much a 5 series costs, but if was over £40,000 and registered after April 2017 then it will be an extra £320 in vehicle tax.

The reading on my boiler pressure meter was always low but it would recover very quickly when topped up. Turned out the expansion vessel needed to be topped with more air pressure. Plumber used my bike pump!

Thanks for the replies. I tucked the ends in the loop and it worked OK last night. I will search out the post that explains how to tie laces so they don’t come undone. Obviously, I have been doing it wrong for nearly 50 years!

I have narrow feet so they are a good fit.

I don’t think early repayment charges are legal anymore.
I paid off my PCP early.

Just registered on Ford finance website and got an repayment figure and paid it off.

Paid off my Focus ST PCP with some money from a bike accident claim. I was always hoping to pay it off. I feel that PCP is like a treadmill that sucks you in to changing your car more often than maybe you want to.

My car is 2.5 years old and I’m not interested in a new one at the moment. I am glad that next March I don’t have to do anything. Don’t have the stress of choosing a new one or finding a deposit. What if my next car model was not available at the time? Don’t like talking to car salesman.

I owned my last car and was able to shop around and get a great deal on the ST at nearly 6K off list price with Drive the Deal. £1200 of that discount was the PCP finance contribution that I kept.

Hopefully, I will keep the car for at least 5 years.

I got a Canyon Endurace through them. Easy process, Canyon and GCI talk to each other to make it simple. First ride to work on it yesterday. Summer commuter with Di2!

There is a lady commuter I see on the last bit of my commute and she is riding an electric moped. She doesn’t pedal and it does 20 mph. No number plate and she sometimes wears a bicycle helmet or not. There don’t seem to be any pedals at all. What is it?

You have really burst my bubble.
3 of us only did it one way on Saturday and we found it very hard.

    Much respect from us!👍
