I’d have thought someone called Irish_AL would have recognised Sean Kelly!

I really did not get on with the SRAM road shifters (Red and Force) and couldn’t wait to get back to Shimano. The SRAM single lever did not suit me, so it is definitely worth trying both types of shifters on a test ride.

As mentioned above, conti GP4000s are way better than GP4000. Last much longer and better grip in wet.

Big thanks to Smudge and his charger. I recovered the batteries no problem!

I’ve got these from halfords. You can get narrower ones from other suppliers for road bikes as well.

Tried the magic shine charger and no red light came on, so I thought that maybe the charger cannot cope with a very flat battery.

Tried charger again last night, but it seems to have blown the 1A fuse in my shaver adapter plug. Put a larger fuse in and the charger went bang!

It could all be related, maybe charger failed when presented with overly flat battery.

    Anyone had this problem?
Can I buy a better charger?
I will try Smudge if no joy here.

    Thanks

Big downtube does stop a lot of mud. Got a shock blade which is quite a good bit of kit, will see how it goes! Thanks
