Also if you get the bus up there will be other riders to follow down.

We roughly followed this route down

    Semnoz to Annecy

If you click on “Afficher sur IGN” it will open it up full size. Clicking on “VTTrack” will link to a map with other routes in the area on it.

I was there at the start of July this year.

The trail down from the top of Le Semnoz starts at the side of the restaurant at the the top. It does involve quite a bit of fire road and even tarmac on the way back down to Annecy though.

La Clusaz if fine for a day or two and worth the drive. Just don’t head out on any of the Cross Country routes as it will end up in Le Semnoz type boredom.

The Red Downhill from the top of the Beauregard Lift was fine on a hardtail but would be better on a FS, The Blue D/Hill from the Cret du Merle/ Cret du Loup was fun.

I know you shouldn’t have to but keep on their case via e-mail etc.

I eventually got mine on Friday after 5 months waiting and numerous e-mails.

A bit of snow on the hills this morning but it should be gone by this afternoon.

I’d expect it to be a bit muddy come Sunday though

Looks like they’ve got time to go for a ride rather than sorting out orders

    http://duffbag.myshopify.com/pages/about-us

Details of rides have disappeared so maybe someone from Duff has been monitoring this thread.

If so how about some answers as to the whereabouts of orders?

The Shale Bings of West Lothian might be a shout.

There are loads of these around Broxburn and Bathgate just off the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I don’t know what it will do to tyres though. They used to use this waste for all weather football pitches in central Scotland and after your first slide tackle you quickly learned to stay on your feet.

There aren’t any camping pods closer than Innerleithen/Glentress. There is a however campsite at the swimming pool.

There are of course a couple of hotels in the town, The Glen being the closest to the swimming pool and Rugby Club both used as race HQs for the MTB Marathon in previous years. Other Hotels include The Heatherlie, probably the next closest, and the County Hotel in the town centre. There is also the Phillipburn Hotel if you don’t mind paying for the luxury

As far as Self Catering goes Whitmuir Hall has a range of cottages, converted steadings etc.

You could try an adaptation of the Stolmen Bike Rack, using parts from Ikea. I built one last year for storing bikes in my kitchen.
Not my example but a three tier one Here[/url]

Those recommending washing up liquid – I seem to remember being told a long while back that this washing up liquid was a bad idea because it has salt in it. Is that still an issue?

The cheap ones do use salt to thicken them, good quality ones generally don’t.

I acquired some solvent based cleaner used for cleaning the blades of gas turbines and use that every month or so.

Saturday – Selkirk to Cardrona via Minchmoor Road to meet the Mrs as she finished working. Then drove to North Berwick for the night.

Sunday – Rode out of North Berwick then down onto the beach under Tantallon Castle. Along the Beach and over the rocks until Belhaven Bay then inland to pick up the John Muir Way back to North Berwick

I bought a pair earlier this year as I suffer from Raynaud’s Syndrome, (blood stops flowing to the fingers and they go numb), and I’ve never been bothered with numb fingers since.

Innerleithen. And it was bloody cold. And with snow. And I rode like a ****. And my brakes were ****. So an all round top ride.

We were there as well. Lovely in the sunshine on the way up but freezing cold and snowing at the top of Minch Moor.
