The triggers already on the bottles you buy are only designed for a number of sprays/actuations – when I was in the industry the ones we used were designed for 15,000 sprays. This would go up or down depending on the product. For re-useable spray bottles and triggers we used Contico ones as they lasted forever

Try your local Janitorial Supplies placeas they should stock them.

As Bikeseek says the adjustable spray triggers are game changers

Use the vinegar in place of softener.

As Kayjay says just use biological laundry detergent. I prefer the powder as it will, to an extent, also disinfect the carpet.
For badly stained or really smelly areas mix some of the laundry detergent with warm water in a spray bottle and spray it on the affected areas and leave it for 20 minutes before running the carpet cleaner over it.
I always run some fresh clean water through the machine to flush out any cleaning solution when I’m finished as the cleaning solution will dry out and leave a sticky residue that can cause the pump head to seize.

You need to put the vinegar in the fabric conditioner compartment for it to act as a sour. Putting it in the main wash means it will neutralise some of the alkalinity of the detergent making less effective at removing oils and greases.

Get the laundry bags with the alginate strip and just loosley bag everything at the bedside. Put it on a wash cycle that has pre-wash stage. the laundry bag will open at this point and most of the solids will be rinsed away at the end of the pre-wash stage. The main wash should take care of the rest if you use a good quality biological detergent.

I was about to recommend laundry liquid. You have to be careful with powder as the destainer might bleach the carpet where applied.

Really anything with a bit of  alkalinity in it, e.g kitchen degreaser, will saponify the oil and get it out of the carpet.

Just be careful if using any solvents as these may affect the backing of the carpet

You could try looking for accomodation in Galashiels or Selkirk.

From Gala you can take your bikes on the X62 bus to Glentress and Innerleithen if parking is going to be an issue. There are even a couple of trails up Gala Hill for some evening entertainment

From Selkirk you can drive over to Gala to catch the X62 bus as above or you can cycle directly to Yair or Bowhill

Its been a while since I passed my bike test but if you hsad a car license you still needed to do a CBT before being let out on your own. Even with a CBT you were limited to a 125cc. You could then either sit your test on a 125cc and then be restricted to a certain power of bike for the next couple of years or you could sit your test on a bike of a certain power and then next day be out on whatever bike you like.

Powder biological detergents don’t contain bleach as bleach would destroy the emzymes in the detergent. They will contain percarbonate though which breaks down to form hydrogen peroxide which will act as a destainer and biocide. This breakdown only hapens once the wash water is up to temperature which gives the enzymes some time to work.

If the manufacturer is recommending liquid detergents only, these don’t contain percarbonate, I’d avoid using Vanish as this is percarbonate with an accelerator (TAED) to get the breakdown to peroxide going at lower temperatures.

As someone above recommended hang the garment out in the sunhine, remembering to turn it inside out at some point, and let the UV do its work.

Wash with a good quality powder. Try washing with Fairy Bio or Persil Non-Bio as these used have the highest Percarbonate/TAED levels

Of course the Scots aren’t British – they’re Irish. Linked ethnically with Celtic tribes from somewhere in Spain, not the Welsh Celtic tribes. And some of the Northern Irish are Scots. And then it gets confusing / confused.

The Scots, as in the tribe of that name, were Irish but here in the south Cumbric was the language and Cumbric was related to Welsh

You can even get wee temperature sensitive stickers to put on the crockery to verify that the rinse water is 82 Deg C

If it is work related then someone has probably done a risk assessment and decided to follow FSA guidlines which recommends thermal disinfection by the rinse cycle temp being at 82 Deg C

When it is running where is the needle on the prressure guage? If it is out of the green and round near the red then you need to repressurise the expansion vessel.

If pressure is normal then chuck some leak sealer in to the system, the cheap one from Screwfix works well.

The partial release of the legal advice given to the Scot Gov would appear to indicate that they were advised months before Salmond’s judicial review that there was a real chance that Salmond would win due to the procedural errors. A month before the hearing the Scot Gov’s legal advice was that the “Least worst option” was to concede the case. This was ignored and we taxpayes ended up with the bill for Salmond’s legal costs.

Sturgeon is up before the committee tomorrow so we will get her side of it then but surely someone, whether it is Sturgeon or one of her inner circle, must take the blame for ignoring this legal advice.

I disagree. Mediation was offered by AS when it became clear that the Scot Gov complaints process against him was unfair and unlawful and was doomed to fail. However the Scot Gov pressed on with the process eventually leading to the Judicial Review.

Despite being compelled twice by the Scottish Parliment to release the legal advice, that led to the Scot Gov losing the Judicial Review, this legal advice has never been made public.

Sadly no-one is going to come out of this well.

To those from other pars of the UK who aren’t up to speed on this it is like David Cameron claiming that Boris Johnston and his close pals tried to discredit him and send him to jail. And when that failled and with-hold information to the committee and efffectively stop if from getting to the bottom of this whole sorry affair.

Next week Nichola Sturgeon has the chance to rebut thse allegations.

All this is taking place in a country with a long history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by fighting amongst ourselves.

Don’t think it is the clutch. You’d normally hear the revs rise without any gain in speed if it was slipping.

Get a shoe drier for the footwear. You can also put it on for 5 mins to heat your boots up before wearing them.

I used to work for a company that made oven cleaners amongst other cleaning products.

Caustic based oven cleaners are great and won’t affect stainless steel. DO NOT get it on any Aluminium, Zinc, or painted surfaces.

When you heat the oven up switch it off before spraying or the fan will blow it back in your face.

Is the wie planning on sitting the test to get a full licence?

From memory there was a bit in the regs that the bike you sit your test on had to be capable of doing 60mph. If that is still the case then she would have to get used to, and pay for the use of, a driving school’s bike.

As above 50cc bikes are dangerous and i wouldn’t advise.

BTW I passed my test on a Vespa T5 which was the only learner legal geared scooter you could sit your test on at the time.

I know that the feathers are washed and that a cationic detergent is used as part of the finishing process so try using fabric conditioner as well. Any fragrance will be driven out in the drier anyway.

Providing the game you are planing on going to isn’t against Athletico, Barcelona or Vallencia then you should be able to get tickets at the ground the day before.

Be aware however that the fixture days and times are only set a few weeks before the game and book your flights accordingly as the game could be any time between the Friday night and the Sunday night.

This window will be narrower if the game you are planning on going to is the weekend before or after a Champions League round. i.e. They won’t be playing on a Sunday if they are playing in the CL on the Tuesday or Wednesday.

I’m of the generation too old for cheap cider, there was Merrydown but that was expensive. So our underage drinks were fortified wines such as Lanliq, Eldorado, Four Crowns. Buckfast was only just starting to become popular in Bathgate by the time i started going into pubs (age 15)

Minging as a drink but were before their times in having a screw cap so could be hidden if the police turned up.

Stayed at the campsite on Toblacher See when cycling Munich to Venice three years ago. Stunning location but rather pricey. 34 Euros a night for two of us in one tent on a sloping field.

The Persil shouldn’t cause a problem. However the cationics in the softener are rather substantive and not very water soluble. Three or four washes with soap flakes and it should be ok.
