When I create a route on bikehike I have to upload it as a gpx file to Garmin connect, then save it as a course to be able to download it to my Garmin by Bluetooth. Garmin thinks it is a ride I’ve just done and sends it to Strava with a constant average speed. I always delete it quickly but often get a kom on it if there is a slow or uphill segment. Perhaps that is the case here, or something similar

    Hey Kryton,

Got a link to those caffeine studies, sound an interesting read…

Think I had a similar reaction when I tried a shot last year

I’ve found my Yeti ARC hard tail to be pretty compliant, often get the feeling I have a flat rear tyre! Well compared to a Scott Scale anyway

Since when have studs been ‘banned’?? Spikes I can see as inappropriate but a rugby or football stud won’t do any more harm from being ‘kicked in the face’ at every dismount than a rigid carbon soled shoe

Depending on your age you could do masters or under 23, which I think have national B, but not double points, maybe double for masters??

Couple years back I fatbiked from Lowestoft at sunset down the beach to Aldeburgh, rode a lap of the Viking Trail in Tunstall Forest and rode back to Lowestoft for the most easterly sunrise, 80 miles, lovely night. No plans this year

Click on your paired devices in the bottom right, then the vortex controllable trainer and you can select erg or resistance/slope mode and a slider for resistance. I usually put into on about 20%

Re the tacx trainers, I have the Bushido, one model up from the vortex, and when new it seemed accurate, but my power FTP tests were going down even though i was clearly getting fitter. Calibration was always the same but it seemed to be loosing watts over time, which was proven when i got a power meter. Changing to a new turbo tyre brought it closer to the pm again but still reads 10-15% lower. Fortunately traineroad has a power match feature so I can train correctly

On paper it sounds like a big ask, however in the last year and a half I’ve had a similar experience. I was a mid to top 10 sport racer but never trained seriously. I bought? a smart trainer and power meter, and started using zwift and traineroad a couple of winters ago. I started at 68kg and roughly 240ftp. About 3.6wpk.
Now I’ve dropped 9-10kg and gains 45watts in power to give me a 4.8wpk.
I’ve had top 10 finishes in the expert cat at nationals this year and started road racing too, however currently sidelined due some cat 4 idiot crashing infront of me sending me over the bars and breaking my scaphoid. I did finish the race and score enough to move up to Cat3 after 2 races. My main problem is with low weight but still generally low power sticking with heavier more powerful riders on the flat seems tough.
My aim next season is to move up to elite MTB but I reckon I’ll need to build another 40-50 watts to be competitive. Got a tough winter ahead

    Good luck, it is possible!

Did have Ron in front and Ralph on rear, now gone to Ardent Race front and Ikon rear. 13 and 16psi. Probably roll a touch slower but with some of the man made sections on the national XC rounds, found the grip, confidence and durability to be better. All 29 2.25

I find following teams on Twitter like Quickstep and Sky post good updates as the stage is happening.
I hope Froome and Team Sky are paying attention to the lack of sportsmanship and underhand tactics from some of the teams on show this Giro, seems like the unwritten rulebook has been thrown out the window.
Froome? is the sort of character who, like Tom D, will show the sportsman gestures only to get burnt by Movistar etc

From what I gather there are 50 Elites in the county with usually the top 5 experts move up plus 1 or 2 juniors depending on ability. 5 elites move down but some can stay or go Vet or be both… Experts there are probably close to 150, doesn’t appear that the get dropped back to Sport unless they score no points in a season but could be wrong. Top 15 sport move up to expert aswell as a few juniors

Another Google play music here, did have spotify but the library function on Google is so much better, instead of having them all in playlists. Shuffling a few or all albums is much easier to do, can download for offline listening and works well with kit kat on Nexus 4. I think I’m still paying £8 a month as I signed up at launch

Won’t matter what you wear under, it will always be a sweatfest! Cosalt stuff we wear, like most stuff, is 3 layers thick, so all the heat stays in.
We just have the normal work rig, cotton tshirt and poly/cotton trousers under fire kit

Some of those cheaper shimano brakes have a flaw where when you pull hard on the lever, the 2 piece calliper pushes apart slightly allowing a small amount of fluid to leak onto the disk/pads, contaminating them and giving you piss poor stopping power. Usually you will slow down gradually and come to a stop with a harsh judderey squealing sound.

Either bin them or expect to clean them regularly

Rihanna, I end up in a rage that no other ‘band’ or ‘musical act’ gets me close to.

Yer I called it crown to floor rather than a-c, it’s pretty much the wheel and tyre that adds the extra 30mm.

It’s a genesis io frame, so only being an ss won’t get to do massive climbs/descents, but am thinking of changing it to a decade virsa, can really only drop the stem another 20mm but not too fussed really
