I’ve used cheap braces before but I’ve found my fox trousers don’t need it.

If you want some cheap flats pm me. Ive got more spare pairs than is reasonable and I’m about to upgrade to daggas.

Last organic brakes pads i tried in the peak/wharncliffe mud lasted one ride with bedding in.
Sintered are far better for that sort of riding imo.

I was a big fan of MM DHR2 then 2x MM in winter.
I’ve just got the bug betty and so far I really like it. Good rolling speed but much better than the Dhr2 in really grim conditions. Hopefully I can just leave it on all winter.

My time speciale 12 pedals felt pretty wow. Looked amazing felt super light and the maintance section of the manual said “no maintenance is necessary”

I’m in a similar situation although my kids 7 months old. I got s smart trainer. Messed around with rouvey for a bit but now I just do training plan stuff on training peaks before the fsmily get up.
I had a dumb trainer in the past and never used it.
My point is I would strongly advise a smart trainer even if you have to go second hand.
Use flats or clips. I’d put the cx bike on. With limited time you want everything ready to go straight away.
If you stick with it you’ll get much much fitter.

Totally failed to seal a tyre even though I put tons in. After a week I popped some stans in and it sealed straight away.
    Won’t be using it again.

That’s a big bump.up from the old mm at 850g.
I’m very interested to know how you find the big betty.
Also is the new magic mary any bigger than the old 2.35?

What I did was sack off local rides and get a turbo. Im fitter and when I get a proper ride out I enjoy it more because of that. Im.also starting to feel psyched for local rides again.

Do people find much difference in rolling resistance? I don’t have the legs for much more drag but I like the idea.

I’m running 30mm internal so it sounds like 2.6 mm is spot on. Thanks.

Did they warranty it for you or did you end up bikeless?

I think if your going to try flats you should give it a proper go with some 5.10s before you decide if you like it or not.

Have people found a noticeable and worthwhile difference between 2.35 and 2.6 tires?

Are rim strips universal for rim specific?

    seb84

I dont find it any more faff changing tires tubeless. The faff for me is getting the tire on and off the rim. The tubeless set up is usually done it 2 minutes. Ive had more trouble with pinching tubes changing a tire than I have tubeless by far.

Yes you’ll destroy the liteskin tire in two seconds. If you need sg on the front the you probably need it on the back as well.

Its a bit frustrating I won’t be able to get snakeskin equivalent magic marys anymore.

When jedi says push or pop what exactly does he mean? He’s clearly not shifting back in that video.
Is it push down on the bars to pop the front wheel?

Where are people getting longer pins for the saint pedals?

    seb84

    Renthal kelvar last much longer.

    seb84

I used renthal push ons wired and glued on so they’ll never move.
More comfortable than any other grip I’ve tried and the ultra tacky are gripper than hell and get better the more sweaty your hands get.

If I’ve got a shimano 12 speed set up what’s the cheapest cassette I could but on a normal shimano freehub to use in erg mode?

I had the exact same problem. Got some saint spds and it totally sorted it. So much more support and comfort.

You need to put sealant for it to stay up. I have no issues with tubeless but no tire I’ve got would stay up for long without sealant.

They are quite slim if you dont want them fitted size up. They seem really really good quality though.
