Supply and demand init. Whatever he really believes there are plenty of people ready to listen and even pay to hear him rant about something they want to believe.

Just another religion/sect in my humble opinion. Big hitters…..Advance!

I have had coil sectors before and I didn’t like (I’m not a fan of coil)
    Thanks though

No worries dude, I think the same system is available in air too(revs).

Wouldn’t it make sense that the hydrolic brake system is a closed one so unless you have air in that system it would not matter how your bike was stored?

Having said that I sometimes leave my bike upside down and find that when I get it upright I need to pump a brake leaver a few times to get it back to something like normal. I usually take this as to mean that it needs bleeding.

Check your pads and go from there but the SS ones are pretty good. If you have a bleed kit but have not bled your brakes before there are good vids on youtube etc.

Sounds like it could be a pressure thing. I ran NN/RR combo for about 6 months (tubeless). Light and fast for sure but fragile. I would find the sealant seeping out of little spots on the tyres so wonder how many punctures I would have had to deal with.

I ran my front NN at rather low pressures but never had a pinch…saying that I was very aware on the rocky stuff, fully expected to get one but never happened. Maybe that is a tubeless thing? I don’t know.

Tubeless all the way buddy, might be a pain to set up initially but not stopped for a puncture in at least 2 years. And that is worth it to me!

Now ditched the Schwalbe combo for Maxxis…but that was a grip related issue!

Well if you haven’t checked the pads yet you might just need a bleed. I find this with my Elixir 5’s from time to time.

If your pads are shot…I have used superstar pads for the past few years. How long do they last? Too many factors to say! Lots of wet winter riding sandy/gritty/muddy trails…not long! They are cheap so I just change and bleed when the need arises rather than expect a certain lifespan.

Never understood why some people think that U-Turn is a faff, it really isn’t.

It’s not a faff but when I had them I would have to stop, adjust and go. Yep a few seconds but with the DPC thingy on the RS I don’t have to stop, just reach down and flick the dial, quick bounce and I’m set.

If I am going up in 120 I can flick it to 150 while I am going up so when I get to a down hill bit I don’t have to touch the dial just bounce the forks and it’s back to 150 for the gnar!

I recently bought some RS Sektor DPC 120/150.

The system works really well. Just set the dial and push down to change the travel.

    Cheap as chips from bike24.Bonus.

The law states it’s an offense to discharge a weapon within 15 meters (or 50 feet) of a highway (this does not include footpaths/bridleways etc) ….and here’s the important bit…. if doing so would cause danger or disruption to a user of said highway.

If you are not a regular shooter of air rifles you are just going to end up wounding the bird, it’s not going to be a nice experience going to find it to dispatch it cleanly. Especially if it falls in the neighbors garden or in the road. Just get pest control in, bet it will be cheaper than a nice gun and scope.

Got a pair of Ignitors on my 5.

Mostly trail centers and Yorkshire type messing about. I find them fast rolling and have some grip too. Not awesome in the slop but found them good over everything else.

thing is watsontony roadies wear very tight lycra shorts, they are not being rude by not acknowledging you or me…a man well beyond your years….it’s just that the Lycra pushes sand and grit into their vaginas…hence the attitude.

I read your thread, really felt for you and it was great to read so many encouraging replies. I would echo mikertroid, while you might not be a full on alcoholic, a problem still needs to be addressed and maintained. I sincerely wish you all the best.

A wide angle lens can be expensive.
Depending on your camera your sensor/chip size will dictate the focal length you will get.
So on a full frame camera which has a sensor equivalent to 35mm film a 15mm lens with be a 15mm lens. If you have a crop sensor (APS-C) you have to multiply it by 1.6 So a 15mm lens will be equivalent to a 24mm lens. so not nearly as wide.

If you can I would borrow one, unless it’s something you will use a lot.

Also what are the shots for? Selling your camper?…. use a wide angle compact…commercial photo work you will need nice glass.

I carry some puncture stuff or something but never used it…condoms though, that’s a different matter. I personally carry the variety pack, ribbed (for her pleasure) flavored just in case it’s a hot ride and things get a bit sweaty and ultra thin just in case I feel reckless.

Maybe you just a converter. The .Mov files that camera spits out may not be compatible with film maker. Depends if you like the features on the windows software verses anything you can find for free.

I bought a Forca variant called the Traildrop for £90. I think it a GD copy.

It’s not a bad effort, only used it on a handful of rides so far but all have been very muddy and wet. It comes with a boot which is a must for a post like this.

It’s just not a very smooth thing to operate, you really have to get the knack of it but at the end of the day it works. My only thing with it is getting it back up to the full position. I usually have to give it a little pull to get it to click in to position. I’m going to strip it and give it a good grease. It may just be bedding in.

Think they are just 27.2 though unless you shim.

After several RF BB’s fails I went for the big S (XT) but it came with the group set. All I can say is after a year of abuse it’s still going strong.

All riding buddies with big S stuff have had no problems while I was always having problems with RF. Made of cheese!

Would buy the same (S) again TBH. Hope, great but costly and would not trust SS but that might just be me.

    I just don’t get the (in bed)innuendo though…

What, you don’t have a Threesome after every ride? Lame.

It’s hard to tell, did you get a written quote? Was the quote an estimation or a detailed report of work and materials?

£100 is a bit of a miss quote on his part. I would be asking for a detailed report on what the extra £100 is for and why it is only now he thinks it will cost so much more and why he didn’t quote this in the first place.

Sounds like he messed up and is trying it on, I would stick to the agreed cost and see what happens. You hold the cards or the cash, unless you paid up front.

Oh bum. Not a good feeling but like others say, fess up, learn and carry on.

I freelance (photo) and broke a studio’s flash bulb the other week. £200 quid to replace. Since then I have done a couple of jobs for nowt or very reduced rate. But when I did it I told them straight away, not the best reaction but better to be straight up.

Edit. They are still booking me into Aug tho so I don’t think there are hard feelings! Stuff happens.
