    I’m only messing! 😀

The garage man told me I could claim for a broken rear (car) spring but I would have to prove when and where it was done…god knows how you are supposed to do that. It’s worth a go in your case but I am sure they will do everything to avoid paying out on this kind of claim. If nothing else it will be reported and maybe even seen to!

I have the 85mm, on a FF its prob not bad but on a crop sensor too long I’d say.

For low light the nifty fifty is great and about 85mm on your camera, but may still be a bit long. But 1.8 is shallow…you would have to be awesome to get exactly what you want in focus, esp when it’s going some!

I’d say f4, high iso and a flash….something off camera if you want a more pro looking shot. Speedlight on a tripod…transmitter on the cam or a sync lead depending on the logistics.

    Shoot RAW…

Noise ninja/Noiseware pro will help with noise processing.

Edit, for what you are doing a zoom is prop better than a prime portrait lens, you might need the zoom to get in the position you want to be in….17-40?

Sounds like a good approach shark…Is the training center in FW based around commercial diving?

I think tonyplym gave the best answer to be honest.

However if you have not dived before I would recommend (while you do research and decide if this is a path you want to take) you join a diving club. BSAC are good. I pay about 130 per year, £3 per session at the pool.

You are taught by qualified experienced diving instructors and although the training is not as quick as it would be with a more costly but quicker PADI course the benefit is that you gain much more experience.

Look for a club that has the use of a pool with a dive pit(6m ish) so you can get feel for it. Good luck!

I made the mistake of buying one from sports direct, £12. The rubber tube has blown twice while pumping up a tyre. I have to shorten it every time! Just get something good and save yourself buying twice!

As they have said above…you need something that will read the RAW files. rw2 is a Lumix file format I believe?

Try Faststone Image viewer. Basic but you just need something that will read the RAW and export to tiff or jpeg that iphoto will read.

The only reason for shooting RAW is that you want to make all the decisions about how an image looks, ie contrast, levels, saturation etc… (rather than the camera doing it for you), not only that but a RAW file is uncompressed. If you are not into more advanced photo editing there isn’t much point in shooting RAW, they will just take up more space on your HD.

Bloke from my diving club has just gone off to do commercial diving. It sounds hardcore! Diving to 45m in the north sea on a wreck dive can be pretty stressful god knows what it’s like to be a whole lot deeper and have to do a job.

    Do you dive now?

    Edit…welcome!

So you put the 650b wheels on a standard fork previously used for 26inch wheels?

Guess the only issue might be mud clearance? I’m very interested by this!

I wash mine in anger and beer, usually by bashing it with a rock.

But if I need a quick solution… washing mash, whatever soapy stuff was on sale.. 30 degrees…always comes out as fresh as a meadow and sparkling clean.

Maybe your machine is stuffed, maybe you live in an area with particularly muddy mud.

For the Alps I would replace just for the piece of mind. Last time I was there we only did ‘XC’ stuff but also the red runs and even then tyres take a right beating.

My mate has a similar one, we were doing trail centers in Scotland a couple of weeks ago and it kept on opening up and sealing.

Maybe get a tubeless repair kit?

If I was in your position (lucky bugger) I wouldn’t worry about carbon I hear it’s up to the mark.

Have you ever crashed so badly you have dented/KO’d any kind of frame? If you come off on a regular basis don’t go carbon if it worries you and do go on skills course with the saving?

I had no idea where you were going with this…but yeah, on my own watching a film that is rather emotive it has happened. Not with Star Trek though…that’s really lame!!! 😆

Interesting, I think I have seen something similar in Leeds. A police officer was standing with someone who was not in uniform but they had a sign displaying the speed of every vehicle speeding or not.

As I wasn’t speeding I don’t know if letters were sent out but I think the concept of a warning letter from the police is a good idea. I would much rather have a heads up letter than a ticket.

I’m a human being and even though I do my best to keep to the limit from time to time I do drift above the speed limit on occasion….I think most people do from time to time. Having said that, not one ticket in 20 years…good luck maybe!?

One thing though, if you do this please, please don’t be a hypocrite!

Will do most things PS will do if you don’t need the advanced stuff. Still even with Gimp there is a learning curve and youtube videos will help you lots.

Not a fan either but I have noticed over the past couple/few years that it is much easier to avoid. It used to be everywhere but as i understand it C5 have it now which is owned by the same guy as the daily star.

I just count myself lucky that while those idiots are locked up I won’t have any chance of meeting them in real life.

I’m on Orange/T-mobile. I guess they have joined forces but my money goes to Orange. I find them good until I am online. Sloooooooooow. So much so I don’t bother. Friends on the same also have a slow connection. I tried to pick up emails while camping and doing the 7 Stanes a couple of weeks ago. I gave up.

    Plus one for the Oooooosh.

Some nice deals on CRC right now. Even going to the German sites (used many times and not had a problem yet, touch head) you would be hard pressed to find a better deal….unless you go Avid. I know where my money would go.

I have stayed at The Boundary, it’s quite a stylish little place but very friendly and accommodating. There are good deals to be had online too rather than just calling them. They are a short walk out of Ambleside.

I would gladly wait a couple of days if someone says they will pay in a day or two or next time they can get online. If you say you want the item and have been told how to pay it’s best to do so right away while you are sat at the comp. Or at least give the seller a heads up. They could well have other offers or even get better offers! It’s really in your interest to do so.
