I would check what the Evans service consists of compared to Mojo and TF. Might be a reason it is so cheap.

    Edit.

Sending my shock to the pros or to Evans is a no brainer for me.

Competency tests should be applied in many areas of life

Agreed but this is a dog related thread

And while we’re moaning about dog owners – those little bags of poo they leave – often hanging from branches – makes me kinda mad!

What is the deal with that? It’s like they are saying…”well it’s not on the ground, I have done my bit and anytime now I assume the dog sh!t fairy will sort that out.”

    Grrrr

To be honest, I really feel that these days there should be some sort of competency test to possess a dog.

    This 100000000 million times this.

After a recent interview I was contacted the next day regarding travel costs…I got all excited 🙁

After a week I contacted the agency and was basically put off for a couple of days. Turned out the employer was trying to contact their first choice, I was the second. Didn’t get it but things have worked out much better!

Good luck fella…you could always give them a call back?

I can only speak from personal experience but having ridden a HT for years went to FS after recovering from prolapse disc op. In general I feel less beaten up after a long ride and never get a sore back. But I also spend time in the gym to keep my core muscles strong, make sure I sit properly, lift things correctly etc so I have a general awareness to help keep my back from going again.

You checked that it’s only from pedal/crank/BB area? by that I mean not pulling on bars too much when putting power down. Could be you need to check all the headset stuff is greased and tight?

Cranks? seatpost? Pedals? Cassette on tight? QR’s tight? What bike?? Is there a known problem? Where do you think the creak is coming from…ie front or back? Is everything lubed/greased done up to correct torque, from stem to rear mech? I don’t know!!! Just throwing up ideas of where I would look!

    This…

My Gravity Dropper Turbo Multi is great, no complaints here…

Not used the Hilo but the GD just works, it’s a bit more ££ from what I remember but it is simple and just keeps on going. It’s easy to service, parts are readily available and I don’t think it looks all that bad!

Been great for me recently, despite getting my order mixed up with someone else and sending me something totally random. One call and it was sorted out, delivered right item the next day! I was happy.

It’s buying online innit! Sometimes it takes a bit longer. Maybe they had a lot of orders to get out from the long weekend?

I just wear clear glasses and deal with a muddy bum. But then I have a 5 and can’t afford to attach anything that would make it look even more ridiculous.

It was so good late 80’s and then there was Cream/Ministry etc. Now it’s all about meow meow and looking like you stepped out of Geordie Shore. Still a few good clubs but you have to seek them out.

Just watched it on iplayer…powerful stuff. Heart wrenching in parts. But one thing hit me. The program was constructed in such a way that they to keep the viewer guessing the fate of the injured soldiers, despite them being referred to in the past tense in interviews with family and colleagues. I found that distasteful.

Also I can’t help but think that programs like this serve as propaganda(in the guise of being informative). Which also, to me, is disrespectful of everything these brave, incredibly young people are doing in the name our country.

I suspect the benefit to the local economy of tourism far exceeds the cost of clearing up after them.

Possibly true…but if the people who find it acceptable to drop litter had a sudden burst of social responsibility and used a bin or took their rubbish home the benefit to the local economy would be increased.

They [the beach goers] wouldn’t do this to their own streets and their own back gardens.

How does he know? (Ollie Sykes), plenty of people seem to think it’s OK to chuck their shit where ever they deem appropriate. It seems to me he is making the assumption that the beach goers only drop litter on a day out. Sad thing is they prob just don’t care where they drop it…as soon as it leaves their hand it is no longer their responsibility. Gives people jobs etc bla bla!

Yeah I would try and get it in a box and contact RSPCA, otherwise it might end up as cat food/toy. If the poor thing is badly injured at least it will get put down in a humane manor. I hate seeing stuff like this.

Add at least 20 ish for poplock if you don’t have one already. Still that is a nice price for light forks! Haven’t seen a limit on these yet.

I had the one from here http://www.bigmassive.co.uk/

A bit more that the Forca one but as far as I can tell pretty similar. I think they are both modeled on the GD classic.

Basically it is a well made bit of kit and does the job. Personally, and this could well just be me… I found it a bit awkward to use.

You have to apply a little bum weight to the saddle to hit the remote then you can push it down. When you want it to pop up you again apply said bum weight and stand quickly to allow it to come up and click into position.

I just found that difficult to do very quickly. I used it on local rides in Yorkshire then round trail centers in Scotland. Locally it was fine but round the trail centers where the terrain changes very quickly I didn’t think it was a fast enough system. User error?! Maybe.

I got a good deal on a GD turbo, which does not need any (pre release) weight when you want the post to go up or down. I find it a great system, much easier and I find it much faster to use on the ride.

I should mention I had tried a friends Reverb before moving to the GD. It just worked and worked fast..thats what I was after in a post. Not available in 27.2 so the GD T was my best bet. X fusion do one but the hit and miss reviews put me off.

I have come to think that spending more is a bit of a sting but worth it in the end.

EDIT: one thing I do like about these cable remotes is the fact you can look after it yourself. Simple construction and spares available. Part of the reason I chose the GD.

I don’t have any experience to pass on but I bet you could find some kind of sewing/thimble/lady shop that could repair using a decent caliber thread? Support the local economy and keep your junk safe.
