Personally I like the guys in the gym who have a massive gut but do nothing but weights….then walk around the place like they do nothing but weights. 30 seconds cardio would induce a stroke..I live in hope.

I assume you laughed because no one in their right mind wastes oil on brakes..a little squirt of GT85 is much more cost effective. That’s what I use anyway.

Sorry just noticed you mentioned Megga TR not AM. Scratch what I said!

The cash alternative is a nice option so you can pick something Wheelies Direct does not stock. But it means you don’t get as much bike maybe!

    My thoughts;

5 is a great bike but try one if you can, not to all tastes. My current bike, it’s a hoot but also love my mates Zesty.

Scott Genius 720. Bloke I work with just bought one (3 months) Took it to the lakes, had a go. Nice bike BUT he is already having problems with the remote system it uses to adjust the forks and shock. Its a nice idea but so was pop lock but sh*t in the cables and it just becomes more stuff to fix and maintain. That would by worry one this bike, not the wheel size.

Megga…mini downhill bike. Maybe too much for longer rides and if out are not in the Alps etc regularly might be a lot of bike to hump about, if it is your only bike.

No idea about the x-flow. Sounds like you like it tho.

I can’t believe how good nic that thing is in. I know nothing about BMX bikes let alone how to ride one but it’s bloody lovely. Hope you enjoy it.

Are the reflectors on the wheels massive or the wheels really small?!

Check out this thread, something maybe of some use to you. Got loads of good ideas when I asked a while ago.

On the upside we’ve just bought a house for well under 200k that was probably valued at 250k at one point.

Unfortunately that means nothing. You got a house at the price someone was willing pay.

Equity does not mean you have made any money, unless you sell up or you are a developer. For the average home owner it just means they have a better chance of trading up (from the banks view).

I’m better off just reading the cute beaver thread! 😕

Not enough rebound damping will do that. The spring element of the shock is rebounding too quickly giving you a bucking sensation. More rebound damping slows down how fast the shock can extend to it’s original length.

That is how I understood it.

    But

plyphon – Member not enough rebound surely

Threw me off and hence brain freeze.

I see now he means dampening

    Got it.

My head hurts. It’s been a long day! So rebound is too fast if you don’t dial in enough rebound dampening?

    seavers

    not enough rebound surely

    or

    bucked – rebound too fast

Now I’m confused, can see reasons for both but I would have gone with rebound too fast.

Yep, but always give way to walkers and if coming from behind let them know so I don’t give them a fright. Never had a problem, just say hi and carry on.

    Something isn’t sitting right.

As you put everything back together put your hand under the bridge of the forks and wiggle it until everything seats properly. Don’t over tighten the bolt into the steerer, that won’t fix it.

Well I think reducing the forks is a shed load less hassle that a new frame! Give Simon at Loco tuning a bell.

Edit…what forks are you running? What fork is your frame rated to?

Interesting, never had that personally but maybe strip the caliper and lube the pistons with DOT 5 if that is what you use. From what I have read that can help a sticky piston.

    seavers

Wonky pistons or caliper not aligned properly?

Edit: If you have a slightly bent rotor this could cause the tapered effect?

Take a jumper…then go back inside for the other jumper. Then go back for a hanky. Then set off and remember you would feel better wearing the other shoes, and while you are at it change your shorts.

Or on the off chance you are not like my 70 year old mum just go out and deal with it.

Have you tried typing ‘Strength in Numbers’ into the store section? You might be just accessing your tunes or something.

Examined fridge at noon to find that the bloke I look after had taken a sweaty, pube handed scoop out of the middle.

Genius. Sounds like me after a night out.

My forks and shock are with Loco and have been for the last 2 weekends! They should be back tomorrow and I can’t flipping wait!

Now thinking of getting a HT as a back up, it’s no good with all this nice weather and nothing to ride.

The lens I’d put with it is the 70-200 F4 L (£400 on import).

V good lens. I have the 2.8 IS version and it does produce lovely crisp images. However the point you make regarding cheaper alternatives is a good one. There are some gems out there but research is the key.
