What scooter bla bla bla… The important things to teach her are that she should only wear jogging bottoms from sports direct and always…ALWAYS.. get right up behind any car at traffic lights and work the throttle like she is having a fit.

Listening and loving it. Thanks for the heads up OP.

I have been listening to this recently….

….Different pace but worth a listen.

I don’t think it matters. What does is finding a good host for your website. If a domain name is free you can register it with the host of your choosing. It’s all about what you get for your money with the host. I use Heart Internet.

That sounds like a crap apology to be honest. Just covering his back.

Essentially it was a forced apology. The van driver had no way of knowing if the OP would still contact the police and use it against him if he gave an unreserved apology.
So yeah he was totally covering his back and probably thought a token apology would be the best way to keep him from dealing with the police.

The van driver should count himself lucky, not only could he have seriously hurt someone he then went on the offensive. Well done to the OP for remaining calm.

In some respects I think the email was the decent thing to do, on the other hand if the van driver was reported to the police and had to deal with that situation he might be more inclined to think twice. Who knows.

Either way, it was dealt with and dealt with well.

I had a pretty good day. The stylist on my photo shoot is hot and spent most of the day bending over. She talks too much though.

then a swift slap may be necessary…

But by all accounts from the OP, it was not a swift slap. It was a beating that drew blood.

I think that when dealing someone so young, 7 years old you should teach restraint. They are at the stage when they are growing and learning about boundaries. Someone older might be able to distinguish between a situation where they need to ‘slap’ or simply stand between the child who is trying to kick a little girl.

Edit…I just don’t thing it is wise to encourage a slap fist mentality in someone so young.

Take him out and treat him.

Come on guy, that is at best a short sighted way to deal with it. Rewarding a child of 7 for being violent can only endorse such action in the future.

He needs to know that helping his sister was right but a violent reaction is wrong.

Maybe time to go to a garage that isn’t staffed by the Chuckle Brothers.

I would totally go to a garage staffed by the chuckle brothers. If only for the getting it on the ramp routine.

Tell him you are happy he stuck up for his sister but you don’t really want him to go around lamping people.

Good old fashioned common sense innit. Also crikey has kinda nailed it in a harsh but fair way! 🙂

I would be interested to know how you sorted it? Have you spoken to your son? The neighbors? What was the outcome?

Something ain’t right. Your pedal should be at a 90 degree angle to the rest of your bike, which it most certainly is not in the pic. Maybe your crank arm is bent? Hard to tell from the pic though.

Could be a Goshawk if not a Kite or a Buzzard, although they don’t tend to be as big.

I’ve gone from a triple to a double, 38/24 and 11-36. Really like it and it gives me everything I need. It did take a little bit of getting used to but now i love it.

Haven’t missed the big ring. It is possible to spin out but I only find that on road sections getting to the good bits.

I didn’t change the rear mech, still use a long cage. Never felt the need for a bash but do have a chain guide. Depends on what you need I guess. I may have shortened the chain a little but can’t remember.

Awww poor Jamie, didn’t you get the memo? Everyone here shops at Waitrose and only prepares food wearing linen pants and a white T-shirt in an open plan kitchen.

I love it when my friends kids get all their paints out! They are pretty relaxed parents and have wipe clean floors so anything goes. The kids usually require hosing down afterwards but they have more fun doing that that when I see them on tablets etc.

More real than probably any of us here on STW have done today.

Speak for yourself. I gave 12p to some random wildlife charity guy on my way out of the Co-op this morning. Felt pretty awesome until he insisted on sticking a sticker on me. Total Hassle.

Sometimes I want out of this system.

Just chill, have a good sleep tonight and all will feel better tomorrow. Sounds like you an ‘off’ day.

You have described how I feel sometimes. I put it down to that some days life or the system as you say just gets to you. There is a lot of sh*t in the world but it is also amazing. Maybe do something that reminds you of that. Middle of nowhere on a bike sorts me out.

Either way you helped someone. Probably to get drunk or high but it will give them a few hours when they don’t have to think about how awful things are.

    It’s all good 🙂
