I got a side loading cage from Halfords, cheap and it works, i’m using it for my Norco though, i can fit a 750ml bottle in there.

Surely if you can afford a Jones and a Vaya Ti you can afford a new shed?

Well, and a house too remember. The Jones is just a steel one and i’ve had it since 2013 and the Vaya Ti…..ok you got me there.

Thanks for the replies everyone, i haven’t been able to rely to questions until i finished work.

[quoteStore the other bikes at a mates house till you get your new shed sorted?
Not an option i’m afraid.

[quoteKeep the bikes in the house.
Nope.

    [quoteHavent you got a jones?
Yes i do and it’s the one that makes the most sense to keep out of the three, however it can leave me feeling a bit battered at some places which is why i had a full sus bike too, my fave bike of the three though is my gravel bike.

What don’t you like about your 120mm fs bike you already have?

I’m not sure to be honest, it rides fine, it just lacks something, x factor? I can’t be more specific than that i’m afraid, it’s a Norco Fluid btw.

I’d thought about keeping the Jones and having a second set of wheels for it e.g. B+ & B fat combo and a set of 29er wheels. Or keeping the gravel bike and fitting a Lauf grit fork and bigger tyres ( it’s a Salsa Vaya Ti btw ). Its a hard decision to be honest.

29 x 2 inch tyres will fit in my Vaya, i haven’t ridden it with tyres that wide yet, I’ve just tried my girlfriends stans tyres in the frame and they just about fit, I’ve also tried a shwalbe marathon supreme 2 inch tyre in there and that fits too.

I’ve found i average about the same speed on the mixed surface routes i have locally, i’m a little faster on the road bits when i ride my Vaya and a little faster on the dirt bits on my MTB.

I’m not a mountain biker or a roadie but my rides tend to be 50/50 dirt tarmac type rides, non of those miles are commuting miles.

We only ride for fun here, we are doing some structured rides at the mo, but thats only because we want to improve our climbing ( hilly routes really wipe us out, its pretty flat on out local stuff ).

I used to race when i was in the local road club, but the training rides i was doing to improve my TT times really sucked all the fun out of my rides, so i stopped racing.

We mostly ride because we like to be outdoors and enjoy single track riding.

Ton, i’ve used super moto on rabbit hole rims for road touring, they look massive on wide rims.

It’s not the best pic to show what i mean.

    No photos? Shocking.
    Here you go

    29 x 3 inch knard on the front and a 29 x 2.4 ardent at the back.

As anyone tried a fat front with a B plus rear on their Jones? I have been thinking about it but worried it will be crap.

My steel spaceframe is the closest I’ve come to a bike i would never sell, however i may be getting rid of it to fund a new bike i have in mind, so i guess no bike is immune from getting the chop from my collection.

I’ve just been reading about this.

In 1944 one of these flew from Bordeaux to within 12 miles of New York and took pictures of the skyline and then flew back, the flight took took 32 hours.

Yep, a carbon road bike, hasn’t been used in years, i have no intention of riding it ever again, i keep promising Susie i will be putting on eBay next, it’s still in the garage and in the way, i hate myself. 😡

I’ll second the recommendation for Fallout 4, fantastic game, it’ll keep you busy for hours. I am enjoying Far Cry Primal at the moment, despite some poor reviews, i quite like that there are no guns or grenades in it, riding around on a sabre tooth tiger is fun and getting chased by a group of wooly rhinos is pretty intense.

I have a set of those Shimano LX RR levers that mat outandabout posted a pic of up there ^^ I think i have the rear mech and maybe the front too. I remember them being very well suited to the Titec j bars.

I can’t have gluten and Susie can’t have dairy which makes deserts a challenge, i started making some of my own from recipes from here Recipes, you may have to substitute some ingredients for a wheat/Gluten free alternative, some of the things i’ve made are pretty nice.
