Look into aircan, there is i small metal ridge runs all the way around the neck, is it flat or is there a slight bend in it?
Exactly the same story as mine btw
Same happened to mine, the gland the seal sits on had deformed, probably due to neg pressure in past. needed new aircan to repair it so bought coil instead.
Think its a warrenty repair though if still within warranty.
To check have a look in aircan at metal ring-gland that seal sits on, is it distorted?
Put your seals in the freezer before installing them, makes life loads easier.
This normally applies to the oil seal as its quite tight to install, the wipers should be easy enough.
As per what stumpy says, however what he didnt mention is the oil that has leaked will now prevent your fork from getting full travel, leaving them pretty useless.
They need repaired really!
Windwave told me my forks were fixed and not leaking any oil twice, until i returned them with photos of them pissing oil out the lowers.
(they were 09 model)
Would think the more towards hard you set it the firmer the fork is gonna feel on slow hits, which is why mine has hardly any.
Felt like i was hardly moving the fork when i increased mine
@ geda, try backing off everything, preload, air, maybe 1 or 2 clicks compression. play with rebound till that feels right then see how they go from there.
Mine are about 6 month old now and im guessing took about 4 of them to bed in.
Stu the spring will be fine for you, think you would be able to use them from the box without any preload or air, should be just right.
Dont try softening them up for a good while, as said earlier they take ages to bed in and just get better and better over time
Thanks finkill might try that, however i quite like them a bit firm and i do get full travel on occasion especially when it goes a bit wrong
They have become loads more supple with use but took a while.
I love mine especially not having to worry about them for 3 year
