when you’ve used something memory-intensive and then switched back to the homescreen, there’s a pause whilst it reloads the desktop.

    Who actually cares?

People who have a distaste for corporations acting as if they are above the law.

That would imply she wasn’t insecure ergo she’s not a woman….

    Insecure? That’s weak.

I like my women like I like my coffee.

Isn’t that normal? Bloke says ‘XYZ looks nice / beautiful / fit’, followed by GF developing instant hatred for XYZ with continual sniping comments……

I’d hazard a guess that most* people aren’t making it up. They genuinely experienced these things. That doesn’t mean the things were actually there, though. The human brain is brilliant like that.

Does she know what your thoughts are on this clearly, or have you backed down everytime she mentions your past behaviour?
Just talk to her about it in a calm manner. Explain how it makes you feel – her behaviour is clearly pushing you away from her. Don’t let it turn into an argument or petty point scoring.
It might just be a habit of hers.

I just found the rocksmith layout weird. Keep expecting it to look like tab but it doesn’t properly so it just confused me

I was exactly the same. It didn’t help that I was at a festival and a bit passed it when I gave it a go.

tell me why you took such objection to the point? It seemed important to you. That might help with the ‘so what’.

We’re passed that bit now, if you remember – I said I understood what you were getting at.
I still don’t know why you were getting at it.

    Still evading the point.

    >>Can you answer the ‘So what?’ bit yet?

erm, you would have to go back to where I first said it and when you first disagreed with it and found it important to prove wrong

That’d be the bit where you said:

Oh, this is an interesting point. Can it be discrimination if gays and straights have exactly the same rights about who they can marry?

Which, let’s face it, isn’t particularly clear.
(the statement that caused you to have your ‘interesting point’ is a quote you edited and which I can’t attribute to anyone)

So, your point was purely the semantics/technicalities, which we have established, aren’t the important bits.

    Congratulations.

It’s not a semantic trap, I was just somewhat surprised when you said that no one had said it was ‘anti-gay’.

Can you answer the ‘So what?’ bit yet?

a few have eventually seen the logic of this

And they have then gone on to say:
    But so what?
This does not change anything, as Cougar reiterated.

Ive given it all some more thought and i Think I’m starting to fall off the fence towards you. We can call all union a marriage if you like I guess it doesn’t hurt me or change the special thing I share with my wife so fill your boots and may you be happy.

If you want to try and engage others who think differently as we’ll, may I suggest you respect their current views and tackle them with lesser words than bigot.
    Yay!
    Good for you 🙂

OK, the law is not discrimination based on sexuality, because it also prevents straight men marrying straight men.
    Thanks for clarifying that.

    …so what?

What we doing for the next 5 pages then?

    Sexy party?

Who are the other people that you’re preventing from marrying?

    scuzz
    Free Member

Yes, gay men and straight men can both marry women.

Therefore, straight men can marry, gay men cannot.

[Through definition of Gay and Straight & assuming everyone wants to marry as their sexualities suggest]

Under Section 12 of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, a marriage is voidable if it has not been consummated due to the incapacity of either party to consummate it.

Fair enough, hats off to you 🙂
Presumably the laws need to change for the law to change, though, right? 😉

but you are saying that a straight man would only want to marry a woman, for whatever reason

I hope I’m not missing something when I say: By definition of the word ‘straight’.

    scuzz

    Also, Grimy:

it’s also the traits typical of a gender that you find attractive weather gay or straight

Which would logically mean I, as a straight man, find every woman attractive.

Do you find every woman attractive?

    scuzz
    Free Member

That makes no sense. Whilst its wrong to define someone by gender, it’s also the traits typical of a gender that you find attractive weather gay or straight. To suggest male and female are the same, is to suggest that sexual preference does or should not exist. We tend to be gay or straight because we endear the things that are unique in men or women. Your argument holds no water.

You are suggesting that our attraction to others stems from our sexuality.
It is the other way round – it is exactly our attractions that define our sexuality.

What audio system do you have?

    Grimey:
There is no unique relationship between a ‘man’ and a ‘women’ for marriage to describe. This is because there is no such thing as a ‘man’ and a ‘woman’, everyone is different.
Likewise, every marriage is different: Some break, some fail, some live happily ever after.
Different people have different characteristics which potentially make the pairing between anyone trialling and rewarding.

Regardless of the above, what’s wrong with allowing anyone to marry regardless of sexuality and qualifying your own marriage as follows:
    I’m married to my wife.
    I have a wife.
This will convey the ‘unique relationship between a man and a woman that stems from their inherent differences’ as effectively as saying you are married. There is no dilution of meaning at all – and it’s likely you already say this.

    Then gay men can say:
    I’m married to my husband.
    I have a husband.
