Broken both of my ankles in the past 2 years (seperate occasions). Spent nearly 3 months in a cast for one and 2 months for the other, I’d not recommend cutting it off. But if you want to, what do they know, right?

still have limited movement/pain when riding my road bike/struggle doing squats at the gym/running when it’s cold/i have to crack them the same way people crack thier fingers. It’s great.

Not economical. I got my Pro2 front hub for £20. Bearings/custon washers/spacers would cost more than that

Anybody would need a warrant to enter your property. They’d have to be occompanied by a police office to gain entry.

    I wouldn’t worry about it.

I was very keen on buying one to slap on the back of my tv and use as a internet media player/streamer (xmbc etc). But after costing up buying a multiple usb power source, external hard drive, SD card, keyboard and mouse, it was only a few £ cheaper than the Apple TV2 (jailbroken) that i’ve ended up with.

I’ll still be getting a model B to play around with when they’re available, i might wait till the 2nd/3rd batch now though.

    Did not watch.

Reminds me of those Youtube videos you see of 13 year olds popping wheelies off curbs.

Tried West end on Glossop road the other week, cheap but surprisingly tasty pub food (burgers/sausages etc).

right, i got myself some bars, i’ll mull over wheels for another few days.

Steel frames? Anything other than the Betty Leeds?

Would like to stay at around £300 for the wheels. bike-discount.de seems to have some good prices.

I’d be interested in looking at some hand built wheels though.

Ok, tubs are out (they we’re never really in, i just didn’t know what they were), as are the chinese wheels.

I’ll probably just do the sensible thing and get some more Aksiums or Ksyriums.

Scunny, don’t knock Crystal, they were very good for my trip!

Nope, not knocking them. Went to Zell am See with them in December, very good.

Just looking for alternative providers to compare prices etc

And if anyone could direct me to some ‘last minute deal’ site’s other than crystal/igloo i’d appreciate it.

My OH has managed to get a week off work at the end of March. Now i realise this is the end of season, but from experience, can anyone tell me where i should be heading for the best chance of snow? I’m hoping that the crazy dump this year will mean that theres a bit more lying about.

Cheaper alternative are horse stable mats, much harder wearing as well.

first thing I’d spec would be a different frame

My first choice had been 36’s, but now im starting to think these might be a little heavy?
So why did you choose a 5.5lb hardtail frame in the first place? to be even contemplating 717 rims there’s no way you’re going to need anything as overbuilt as a BFe.

    You’re a mardy bugger arn’t you?

I chose the Bfe because I think it would suit my style or riding best. Despite that, i’d still like it to weigh a manageable amount, so i’ll look to save weight where i can whilst still running the frame i want.

I have 2 sets of wheels, 717’s and 5.1s. I’ll swap them round depending on which type of riding i’ll be doing.

If you’d like, i’ll put up a video i filmed a while back, and then you can tell me which bike and components i need, i’ll give you my bank card and you can buy them for me.

Surely if you leave the ladder a little further from the edge, you’d be able to roll off and pump into the landing rather than dropping and hoping?

Yeah, i think i got a bit confused. I was referring to the Fox 32 in 140mm.

Would love a set of BOS, i’m not sure i could justify the price though.

I shall keep an eye out for a set of 36 floats, i’ve heard a few bad stories about preformance when compared to springs. But i can always rectify that later on should i need to.

I got one of the Lidl one’s for £20, after i’d drilled an extra hole and put a massive bolt through it i can’t fault it at all.

I should probably mention that i’m talking about xc races, i dont think my 100mm hardtail will clock a decent speed down Fort William.

Just did my direct access with bike included for £500. £1000?!!! Not on your nelly.

Seem’s daft to buy a bike to do your lessons on when any reputable training company will be able to supply you with a bike.

Sounds easy enough. Anyone got the tracking link? i’ve tried to find it but im not coming up with anything.

I’m normally alot more laid back about these things, but my computer at work crashed just after i submitted the serial number so i didn’t have time to take not of any relevant www’s or numbers.

    £1k savings

    £20k Student debt
    £2800 Bank loan for car

£400 left on some finance i took out on my Mac (again, only taken to improve my credit rating)

I dont feel stretched. Only recently started saving any money, which will eventually be used for a house 10 or so years down the line.

I’m 1×9 on my only off road bike. I live ride in sheffield/peaks, it’s nearly impossible to find a flat section of road.

There have been a few occasions where i’ve thought it would be handy to have a few easier gears, but i’ve never got off my bike and pushed. Just grit your teeth and grind.

Eventually i’ll stop noticing the extra effort and it’ll just be normal.

The relationship isn’t going to go far if you are squabbling about money already.

When my GF (now wife) moved into my house she just paid a nominal amount as an informal ‘rent’. I think it was £150 a month and that was about 10 years ago.

We’re not squabbling, in fact we’ve only talked about it twice. I just want to get things clear in my head. I know i dont want to be paying off the mortgage for her, but equally, i dont want to be freeloading.

How much do you pay in rent (incl bills etc) currently?

I pay £350 all in, living with 2 other friends.

No quite a myth. My mum’s going through something at the minute with her ex husband. He’s trying to claim some of the house. We lived in it for 25 years, him for 5.

    Yeah, this is long term.

What’s likely to happen is i’ll put my name on this mortgage, after signing some contract stating the amount of money she’s put into the house before me, so that if all did go tits up we’d be able to sell and distrobute the money accordingly.

But untill then, we have to go through this.

It may also be worth mentioning that i earn £27k, she earns £39k.

Anything else running along side the suspended sentence? Supervision? Unpaid Work?

Highly unlikely that they’d recieve a suspended sentence with nothing else unless there were other factors involved, or a first time offender.

sounds like GBH without intent, which carries a maximum of 5yrs at the Judges discretion. But, i’d struggle to believe that there isn’t something else going on.
