Feel your pain man. I was worried enough when mine was in for an operation on her leg, can’t imagine what it’s like.

Sounds shit. Put it in perspective though, I’m sure your son loves the dog just as much as you so no need to blame anything on him. Shit happens.

There’s lot of evidence to suggest that a plant based diet can halt/reverse angina. Worth a look: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/cric/2015/978906/

Fully expecting to be running on a couple of hours sleep for months at best, years at worse. My partner has already suggested that I sleep in the spare room now and then if the lack of sleep is getting too much.

I must be a sucker for punishment as I’ve just accepted a new job. If all goes to plan I’ll hand in my 4 week notice, have 2 weeks at work and then 2 on paternity leave. I met with my new boss on Friday and explained that if I look like a zombie for the first few months then I’d rather this not be taken into consideration when reviewing my probationary period!

I’d appeal, as long as you accept you might have to pay eventually. I’ve had 3 tickets like this before, i’ve appealed each one after reading the info on pepipoo and every time the issuer has tripped themselves up in the process and it’s been awared in my favour.

Most recently I appealed and the issuer responded outside of the 14 day period allowed. I automatically won.

Thanks guys. Must do reds, blacks for the afternoon?

Only asking for recommendations as I presume we’ll not get through them all in one day?

Hopefully none if they stick to appropriate trails, there aren’t many heroes in the bunch so i’m pretty confident they’ll be ok.

Out of the 10 ‘novices’, 7 are road cyclists with limited/no experience riding MTB in adulthood (we’re all 30ish), 3 are absolute cycling novices.

Thanks for the advice, i’ll see if there are some vids on youtube.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Whitchurch looks like a good shout for Friday night, thanks for that.

Ordinarily the city centre would be the last place we’d spend our time, but it is a stag do so when in Rome (cardiff).

As above, or modify the cable tension by moving the mech before tightening the cable.

Hardly anything for that budget. If he does want a cheap bike to mess about on then point him in the direction of http://www.wpbracing.co.uk/mafiabikes/kush-1-0 there a various bikes on there for under £200. Nothing amazing but they look the part and could be a good base to upgrade if he gets into it.

Had a similar experience to you OP. Unexplained fertility, so after numerous trips to the hospital and various investigative procedures we were referred for IVF and chose CARE in Sheffield. It’s a bit of a postcode lottery with IVF, in some areas you’re given 3 roll’s of the dice and in other’s you get 1. We were given 1 NHS funded round which was unsuccessful. Thankfully we were able to afford to keep on going and after the 2nd round MrsScunny is now pregnant with twins.

My DT teacher once spent 30 minutes convincing the class I was gay because I had my ear pierced. He took a dislike to me and spent the next 3 years doing similar. The joke was on him though, as soon after I started working at Halfords with his son who soon became my bff (no homo). I’ll be best man at his wedding in 3 months and look forward to addressing it in my speach.

Worth pointing out that the beer above isn’t vegan as it’s filtered using isinglass (fish swim bladder). Also the idea of ‘incomplete protein’ is years old and incorrect. If you eat a balanced diet as a vegan you’ll consume enough amino acids to create a complete profile for protein synthesis.

Any of the vegan protein powders will do. Most days i’ll have a shake consisting of:

Vegan Protein Powder (either pea/brown rice or vegan blend)
    1x frozen banana
    almond milk
a few dates and frozen berries

Decent amount of protein/carbs and fat in that (around 35P/25C/10F)

I’ve tried most of the vegan sports supps (cos vegan), but I dont find that anything works better than getting some actual food in.

Hi mboy, would be interested in taking the spare bars of you, just had a quick google and they seem like they’d fit the bill. If you want to email me ben.c.richardson@gmail.com to sort it out.

I’m vegan, made the switch 7 months ago. I was vegetarian for a year about 5 years ago but fell off the wagon when I was pissed and never went back. It was a bit of a learning curve but I’m comfortable with it now. The only thing I still struggle with is eating out, I’ve found that eating at home before hand and just getting a few sides (chips, olives, bread etc) whilst out enables me to still be sociable whilst not accidentally eat animal products.

You’ll hear a lot of “but what about your protein?”, I still manage to get about 100g per day with beans/lentils/legumes. There’s loads of stuff on the internet so with a bit of research you’all get the hang of it.

It was only 7 months ago that I was eating meat so I’ve got no right to be preachy to be anyone. But I’ve often caught some flack off friends because of the switch, I’ll usually just ask that they watch Cowspiracy/Earthlings and Forks Over Knives not to try and change there’s eating habits but just to understand why I changed mine.

My nephew watched the above documentaries and switched to veganism straight away, I don’t expect him to keep it up forever but it’s impressive to see a young ‘trendy’ popular 18 year old making a decision like that and sticking to it. One of my oldest friends and his partner switched to vegetarianism shortly after I did, sometimes you just have to see someone making the choice to not eat meat to realise that it’s an option.

Currently in a similar position (1 failed attempt, 2nd due to start in Dec). ASDA seem the best, think the Mrs told me that we’re getting them from there as they sell them for cost.

I’ve got some threaded brake mounts on the frame (thinking of silicone sealing these before handing it over) but the rest is bb30 and tapered bearings so hopefully any over spill can be easily pealed off.

Yeah I agree, it should be what feels right to me. But as I have nothing lying about to try first, I’ll need to buy something as starting point, happy to change if and when I feel the need.

Think I’ll go 70mmX6 stem flipped with some low rise 700mm bars and see how I feel.

Age is her biggest anxiety, she’s 33 though which is a spring chicken when it’s comes to ivf. She won’t be told though.

Thanks guys. We’re in the (selfishly) unfortunate position in that we’re good friends with 3 couples that all went through the ivf process and conceived 1st go, so despite me hammering home the likelihood of it not working first time (whilst being optimistic obv) I think she’ll be even more disappointed if it doesn’t.

We’ve agreed to try 4 times in total, we have this round funded by our pct and will pay for the following 3 should we need them.

Forgot about this, thanks for the replies.

Update: I didn’t go for it. Had to go to the office I would be based in for a meeting the other week, the commute was 25 mins longer despite only being 10 miles further.
