660 mm flats on my gf bike 5’3″. I have 673 mm. I reckon about 650mm will be right.

Most people seem to prefer wider bars and I’d say standard mens XC bars are wide for someone 5’4″ and there cheap + light.

dunno I just felt to high up, like I was perched on top of the bike rather than in it.

Yeah the only one I dont really get is fly some where to spend the whole day in pub can do that here !

I just had my stag do people could do what they wanted.

1st day MTB at cannock £22 each. £23 accomodation.
2nd day Off Road Go karting £38 curry Club £10 – £23 accomdation

I agree it all adds up and it is expensive but people could do a much/little as they liked.

And when am I going to get to do off-road go karting again ????

I think Juan is also a computational chemist so theres at least 2 of us into MTbing.

id say juicy’s are a bit more powerful than BB7’s but to be honest making sure the pads are nt glazed makes more of a difference.

However the juicies have much more modulation which I find is very important on the rear brake.

Personally I find hydralics more of a faff I found I could get the BB7’s set up just how I liked ie a small amount of money before the brake activates.

Maybe the Singletrack world collective should organise a couple of “partner” bikes ?

Basically we all chip in and buy say one 15″ and one 19″ bike. We then swap them between us and when are partners think they might get into cycling and then proceed to get bored of it. :)

Alternatively I dont know where you live but could you not hire one ?

Swinnertons at chase trails hire them £20 for 3 hours and you dont have to ride follow the dog you go just do the family bike routes. Im sure other trail/forest centres must do similar ie sherwood pines/look out braknell/bedgebury.

You’d be able to go 4-5 time before it came close to the price of even a cheap bike.

I’ve managed to get a 700x45c tyre on my genesis altitude.

    Its one of these

    http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=42177

What I’m wondering is would one of these fit

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=34662

Theres a smidgen of room left, would nt be any use if it was muddy mind.

little miss sunshine hadnt even heard of it when I went in to the cinema but it was the first film on.

I kinda know what you mean with couching tiger when I went into the cinema I thought what is this is meant to be funny, but then I really started enjoying it.

Now its one of my favourite films, ok theres some silly fights scenes but at least theres a story basically 2 love stories both ultimately unfulfilled. Which is pretty sad the standard good versus evil and of course the classical redemption story ie girl starts good, goes bad finishes good. Plus the scenery is spectacular.

I dont on the other hand get movies like kill bill which are just about ridiculous fight scenes with no story.

    There will be blood

    Kill Bill

Possibly Sin City, i mean I liked it but its not that great

Again Possibly Donnie Darko maybe Im understanding it wrong.

I enjoyed the film but while watching it I felt like there was going to be some sort of semi scientific(in the loosest terms) explanation to the time travel. I’ve read the explanation and although I like the idea of a tangent universe the rest of the explanation just seems to be “Magic” which to me kinda isnt the point with Donnie being a genius and all.

Again possibly Train Spotting although I enjoyed watching the film kinda wonder why there’s such a big deal about it.

Totally agree with markenduro that Road narrowing/chicanes are not the answer. Hate them both as a driver and a cyclist. Dangerous as cyclist and it becomes very difficult to over take cyclists as a driver.

When over taking a cyclist Im quite often tempted to go round them the wrong way to give cyclists plenty of room or so I dont have stupidly accelerate in between them.

I’ve asked this question and it seems to get asked on a regular basis. Someone must know some good rides in the south of the peak.

RichieBoy I’ve got a solution for you

“I’m in exactly the same position… small or large Genesis Alpitude? “

Just checked and these frames come in S, M, L ,XL. So why not go for the medium.

The BBT is funny but a bit too contrived like most American shows but I like it anyhow.

The thing thats really good about the Inbetweeners is the way the group doesnt seem to fit together properly. Too many TV shows people everyone seems to get together and get on great and they’re a real team (or bunch of enemies).

The thing thats great about the Inbetweeners is your never really sure whether they like each other or not, but they clearly fit in better which each other they anyone else so they stick together. Frankly a bit like many socials groups at school and afterwards.

My girlfriends parents are from Ashtead actually getting married in Leatherhead.

But thats a good reason why I dont want to move there !

Plus it will be nightmare getting back to the midlands.

yes Beaconsfield/Amersham are too expensive. Preferably we’re looking for a 3 bed with a garage for £250,000.

I lived in Reading for 7 years I actually thought it was alright. Not as good as where I was brought up (Lichfield) but infinitely better than than living in London.

thisisnotaspoon have you lived many other places ?

Hey mudshark so what your saying is you think Reading is better.

Looked at Beaconsfield too but house are too expensive.

The other advantage to Wycombe is its on the M40 and my parents are from near bham.

Hey yossarian something more positive. Would consider Tring/Princes Risborough but 40 minutes drive is the very most my misses would consider commuting every day.

Really see wants to be with 1/2 a mile of a train going to bagshot but unfortunately shes got a job somewhere with out a proper train service.

well I went to University at Reading lived there 7 years currently living in Battersea in “Badric Court”.

    http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23454787-details/Boy,+14,+in+stolen+car+runs+down+Met+officers/article.do

So not the nicest place either.

Im not expecting it to be the greatest place really what I want to know is would people same Reading is better or worse ?

    nickc you mention its

“Houses are expensive. It’s commuter belt. It’s congested, “

But all of this is true of Reading I’d have though Wycombe would be less congested than Reading or am I wrong ?

Stop pulling up on the bars for a bit. Let it rest by doing a bit of road cycling.
I would imagine thats what will help it heal quickest.

I dont like most of Boris Johnsons policies. Ie getting rid of the western extension to the congestion zone.

But this is ridiculous. Hes right if there had been 30 accidents already shutting down the buses for 1 day was a good idea.

They were back up by Tuesday morning.

I fail to see what the problem is ? As previously mentioned 1 day lost every 25 years. Is nothing.

What do those flaming him expect him to do ?

The snow fell extremely quickly over night and as far as Im aware the even the roads that were gritted the snow covered them ?

I walked to work that day which was fine but cycling to work the next few days I felt especially vulnerable. There could be ice any where.

The whole structure of london and peoples lives in it is nt designed to cope with large snow falls.

Where there any deaths that day involving london transport vehicles (mainly buses) ? Not as far as I am aware. Job Done in my opinion if some one had died after been hit by a bus if they’d continued to run them there’d be national outrage.

I do just over 2 and I would say it makes a difference.

The good thing is you dont have to push yourself because your doing it every day. So some days your’ll feel great and just push your self without meaning to and other days your’ll take it easy.

I would say the biggest advantage is you dont lose fitness.

My girlfriend started to watch coleen’s real women last night. I was going to protest but once I realised it was basically 1 hour of of watching potent 60 potential models parade around in bikinis I soon relented.
