I just stuck the plastic sleeve in the gap yesterday.

Went for a ride today using the same wheels. Seems fine now.

Probably will be back here in 6 months saying it all went wrong my whole hub exploded but hey ho !

Hmm Im tempted to just try putting some kind of plastic sleeve (like the ones found with locks/mud guards.) in the hole just to stop the cassette wobbling not a great plan. But I hardly use the wheels and I’ve managed trips to wales/peaks + general riding with out even noticing the problem really.

You left work because of one and a half inches of snow ????

But whats the point of going into the office if you end up spend 2 hours on the train each way. You might as just well work from home.

My boss suggested I go in today for a “meeting”. We spent about 5 minutes talking but I spent about 4 hours today either on the train or waiting at stations time I could of spent working !

Amy Williams on the other hand seems very comfortable, apparently she is also “physically” fit.

in laymans terms………….is it right or wrong.

    Well short term probably not.

Long term its very difficult to say, if by some miracle he actually turns out to be a decent dad the his influence on his children may may a beneficial impact on their behaviour when there older.

On the other hand he might be a rubbish dad and they might actually be better off without him for all I know.

I think its fairly obvious that he he goes back to iraq he is likely to have a negative influence in such a fragile country which may lead to more iraqi asylum seekers in the future ?

If every advanced country did send every immigrant who committed a crime back it would seem obviously that these countries will suffer possibly creating more immigrants.

The problem is the world is such an interconnected place now adays we really need to sort problems out world wide it wont work trying to export them to another country. There’ll just come back and bite you ala 9/11 etc etc

Not sure about shoes but removing your toenails can save up to 10g of rotating mass for no outlay. Got to be worth a go at least ?

I’ve got them I find it difficult to tell really the problem is I have them on my heavy more study wheels.

Obviously my bike feels much more stable with this wheels than my light XC wheels.

    Definitely not 1)

Probably closer to 2) although the OP doesnt say he likes football

    scu98rkr

I’m sure the OP just doesnt like football/footballers and people who like football and thought he’d get a few cheap laughs on a bike forum where there are a few anti-football people (which is fair enough).

Does no one understand the OP post ? He either has no opinion of football or likes football.

However there are a few people on this forum who seem to be quite anti football and often call it wendyball/woofterball and seem to suggest that football is a more effeminate sport than mtbiking/rugby/kayaking/hill walking/etc/etc

The OP is pointing out the irony in this in relation to the above article. He is not taking any sides or being homophobic. More to the point thoose calling it woofterball probably are being homophobic.

Actually there are quite a few things which the average singletrack world denizen seems to be anti to.

    1. Football
    2. Religion
    3. Aluminium

I thought you were meant to use normal tyres with ZTR rims

UST tyres are really heavy whats the benefit you might as well use tubes

I’d have thought lowish bar would be more comfortable in the long term. Takes the weight off your back and on to your arms.

I think when racing there is definitely a point when your pedalling to put in more power but barely going faster than if you were just standing and pumping.

You’d therefore be better saving you energy to pedal when the trail flattens out or goes up hill.

Im sure the above is true but what about the 3:41. One on a slow moving electric bike and another on a almost as slow moving scooter.

They make no attempt to serve out of each others way.

They just ride straight into each other slowly ?

Do people walk into each other all the time when walking in china ?

Is being the one to move out of the way seen as being a sign of weakness or something ?

Are they all so wrapped up in their lives they dont notice each other ?

I think the best thing is to be very young and preferably slightly ignorant. This was you wont be aware of how much more the external may possibly know than you and how negative he might be.

I was 25 when I took mine was nt nervous at all, but I probably should of been. Would be much more nervous now at 31.

errrrm….. have you checked the forecast… Bracknell Forest is under severe weather warning for tonight/tomorrow.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/319?&search=bracknell&itemsPerPage=10&region=world

If it does snow it will be gone by weekend as its getting warmer. The small amount we had sunday night hardly settled at all and it was really cold then.

    Hi kaesae

I have the one of 1cm ish bearing out. I used a handvice, the hollow part of a cassette tool and a bolt. Seemed to work quite well.

What I need now is a double size cassette tool to get the 2cm bearings out.

    Anyway the

2cm ish bearing is marked one of

    KAKO 69DIRS
    KAKO 6901RS
    KAKO 6901R5

    or something like that

    and smaller 1cm bearing are
    698RS or
    698R5

Do this ring any bells would I be able to order 2 of the big ones and 4 of the small ones off you ?

    How much ?

my email is scu98rkr_at_gmail_dot_com if you want to email me

    Cheers guys,

Very useful info, unfortunately 1 of the bearing has total corroded and pretty much fell apart the outer shell in still in the linkage I assume this will be a nightmare to get out ?

Kaesae I might get back to you when I’ve worked out what the bearings are.

    cheers

yeah surely what has happened is the teacher thinks your son is suggesting all hindu’s are ****heads ?

Where as what it is he just doesnt know what the sign means.

I used to have a Teacher called Mr. Condon. As he said on the first day it is pronounced like “LON-DON”.

I was 10/11 at the time but still pretty naïve and I was never very good at English anyway.

Several times I remember him looking at me very angrily then suddenly smiling/laughing when he saw the confused look in my face.

I can only imagine I was calling him Mr.Condom but Id never heard the word before.

    Edit ::
I went to secondary soon after and around the same time his kids went to another secondary school. Soon after I heard he’d changed the whole family name to Connor.

I just hope that anyone knocking powerbands is not religious, doesn’t believe in alternative or complimentary medicines and doesn’t buy into the belief that science can prove anything, otherwise you are all massive hypocrites.

The difference with Religion is that the people selling you the religion do actual believe in the religion or at least in some of its tenets. Also most religions developed in a time when people didnt have a better explanation for the world around them.

Again the same for chiropractory, tai chi, Acupuncture etc .. The people who developed did not better and they seem to have some benefit even if the the original explanation is clearly buckum.

Where as the makers of the power bands clearly know they dont work and everything we currently know about the human body says they wont work. In other words the makers(marketeers more like) are just trying to make money at others expense.

This more akin to a cult like Scientology where the leadership doesnt really believe in the message of the movement but just wants power/money through it.

“it doesnt splash up on the riders” ?!?

I agree that this is just a cheap comeback, but if you were there Sunday youd know how mucky it was and its a good point about getting dog egg in your eyes.

When your racing your not riding the same as normal and the amount of dirt I had flick straight in my eyes I’d have been glad if someone had cleaned the course of dog muck.

Too many flashing lights mean the driver could not actually tell where you were. Or even look directly at you ? Therefore they guessed they they had over taken you but you were cycling faster than average cyclist ?

This rain forecast from the BBC normally seems pretty accurate for the next 24 hours

    clicky

You just need to check it regularly and think more about the patterns of the rain its showing rather than the exact times.

At the moment it shows a massive rain(snow in scotland) front coming in over Wednesday/Thursday night.

From my experience theres pretty much 100% chance it will rain at some time tonight/tomorrow morning from this prediction what more do you want ?

actually looks really cool love to give it ago.

I wonder what sort of bike whould be best.

I reckon the low geared big BMX type thing look best, reasonable acceleration and good stability. But the top teams seemed to be using the courier type bikes.
