So far this evening I have listed to Killing Joke, Play Dead and now Duke Ellington. Bit of a ‘genre gap’ there then. Just getting old that’s all

my most recent creak (on my Cannondale FSi) was not a loose crank/bb combo as all signs (power down and noise) suggested to me it was… But a loose rear QR!!!!! Like all on here it never comes from where you most expect..

Did Woodcocks/Wainwrights St Bees-RHB many years ago so not sure what has changed. 4 days as follows with transport support. St Bees-Boot, Boot-Shap, Shap – Osmotherly(ouch), Osmotherley-RHB. 4 days is doable but we made error of not balancing the mileage out each day, Should had done more first day instead of silly mileage/terrain on day 3!

ah I came to that conclusion but seems a faff. Shame Cannondale don’t show that on their web when saying how fab the fork is. Still impressed though. Not be the quickest wheel change then? Thanks

sold my 2007 yeti 575 yesterday for 800£ with full XT/Hope/Thompson/Mavic/Rockshox build kits in good condition. sure you should be asking at least 1300£. Mine was valued by a shop at 1000£!

Nan Bield Pass is a good walk spoiled in my opinion.(spoiled by having to push a bike up and then push it halfway back down again). A ride spoilt even more….. Good luck! Definitely hike a bike territory

yeah cant beat a good old OS Map. This makes me wonder about the map place (that’s not its name) in Aston, near Hope. Always surprised they never get any mention on here. If they are still in business they do lots of os mapping things like laminating and centralising, so like you can have your favourite place centred to your map rather than been on the edge or split across 2 maps like they always are. if anybody has clue what im talking about or know of these guys still been in business let us know on here

Very sad news – an inspiration to all and an even bigger loss to the biking world and of course to his close friends and family.

+1 for YHA. Will be leaving in 50mins for 3 days in the Lakes too. Ambleside, Patterdale, Grasmere are all worthy in the area. The Anchorage BnB in Ambleside is very bike friendly and good value. Plenty of independent Bunkhouses etc too. Go choose..

Its only a Bridle Way from the bottom just beyond the telegraph pole or what ever it is when the rider steers left and down to the gate. Would like to see the maps some of you lot are referring to!

Yes I do but its a footpath so not telling you. MBR ran a feature on the peaks a year ago and featured this ‘trail’ to promote it. I emailed the Editor and got the right reply! The article writer got a ticking off so they say.

been looking at these myself and find sizing coming up small-ish. Im 5,9 and M seems best fit but not ideal. if you are around south Yorkshire I can sign you to a retailer with some in stock and the very latest in Scott bike fit tech if you want a bike fit

I know narrow cut better but is there anything wider than a 2.0/2.1? a 2.2/2.25 would suit me. There seems to be a gap as there are plenty of ‘free ride’ mud tyres at 2.5 etc… Sorry to pinch ya post graeme87.
