I have the 16gb wifi and it has been fine. If you get the compression settings right for handbrake for movies, you can get them to about 300mb.
So you can still fit a few on there. I dont have any music on mine as Ill use my iphone 32gb for that. I liked the idea of using the ipad as a big screen sat nag, only to discover the wifi only ipad has limited gps, due to the fact the 3g radio aerial is the bit that has the good gps chip :-(

Well I was assuming that a niche mountain bike forum wasnt a direct route to people involved, and therefore no further hurt would be caused. I do feel for the families hugely, and no accusations were intended. Its just that there are a lot of discussions on here relating to subjects in the media. Hadnt thought that this forum had descended into a “what tyres for….” type place.

I just bought an older white macbook for the missus, I think its a 13″ 4,1 with 120 GB HDD, 4 GB RAM, and Core Duo 2.2Ghz

Its great although wont run mountain lion, but runs lion fine, and she is using it for photo editing with CS4 with no issues. It was mega cheap too, only £280 off gumtree, guy had just had the palm rest area and keyboard replaced by apple under warranty, so it looks as good as new.

I have an MBP 13″ and use Aperture with an external monitor, and its perfect, havent tried the old MB with that setup yet, as havent had time. But there are defo bargains to be had, and the old MB sounds like it would do the job for you.

+1 million for Bepanthen, miracle cream! And Ashton and Parsons powder sent our baby on a crack like buzz! We used a different powder called Nelson’s and it was the winner

It really has illustrated how ineffective the legal system is for small claims. I bought a property and engaged a solicitor to handle the conveyancing, as is required by law I believe, and they then handle the formation of a contract between myself and the vendor, with a view to handling the transaction and protecting both parties. In that contract I have an intimation period (14 days I think) where I inform my lawyer of any defects. This all happened within the period. I am not even claiming for the boiler repair as this was discovered outside of the 14 days. This was due to the fact that there were numerous water leaks when we entered the property, so emergency callout to plumber on a bank holiday weekend. Bathroom out, floorboards up, and the ceilings had to be brought down. Then when the plumber was checking the heating after putting the water on, there were 5 radiators which were leaking and wouldn’t seal. The plumber stripped the valves off and stated that the radiators were corroded inside and would need to be replaced. So thats why the plumber’s bill was £1600. I haven’t claimed for the boiler repairs, any of the decor or plaster work, as I had friends who fixed this for me. Looks like I’ll need to put it down to experience and walk away. My lawyer who handled the sale said if I wanted to take it further when he said he wouldn’t pay me anything initially, stated that his firm didn’t do court work, but with small claims you didn’t need a lawyer. So went down that route and then got mucked about by the court, by him, and then even if I had won, the court can’t enforce payment. In Scotland even with a judgement against him, this does not affect his credit score at all, so is in effect useless. Great system isn’t it!
Thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated as usual! :-)

No Al, the judge just asked if we had reached an agreement, and then said he would continue the case till tomorrow to make sure I got paid :-( Looks like I will need to go and give him more time to pay. Just hate wide boys that get the better of you.

Jeez. I just hate the feeling that I am being humped over and over from this guy. The boiler in the house was unsafe and leaking gases into our bedroom, despite having lied to us when he was showing us the house, saying that the boiler was under maintenance by Scottish gas, and it would be fully serviced before we took the house. We know this was a lie as he has since produced dodgy letters from a guy doing a homer repair on the boiler. What makes this worse was the fact he knew we have a baby in the house, and he is a firefighter!

Thanks guys, have bought some of the Nuun tabs and will try a couple before the big day. Any preferences on what to eat also? I notice the drink is no cal, so wondering what to take for the walk. Also, if Ive been doing the IDave plan, if I jump back into a high carb day, will it have any undesirable effects?

I did the same thing a couple of years back, there is a website hackintosh which gives you all the steps. I currently have a VM image of OSX Lion which I use at work running on a windows 7 laptop. Works great. The Hackintosh thing was a real pig to get working, I gave up eventually, but things might have got better since. Ive now got a macbook anyway and wouldn’t go back to Windows except for work issue stuff.

I have an aeropress after trying a lot of different methods, and I love it. If you use espresso ground coffee and put a lot of pressure on the plunger, you get a first class espresso with crema and all. Best thing I have bought.

    I use http://www.moneydashboard.com
Its great and links live into your banks so pulls all the data automatically. No importing statements in like MS Money or the like. You can then tag all your transactions and it produces reports or you can export to various formats. And its free :-)

Either do what sugdenr suggests and build the case for doing the role yourself, and include statements from other people who you have helped by being a team player.
Either that or go on the sick and bleed em dry whist looking for another job :-)

So a bit of an update, took her back two days later as she was in so much pain, she wouldn’t even move. Went to A&E and they got an orthopaedic consultant to have a look at her. He ordered X-rays, and admitted her into a general / ortho ward for observation. The X-rays looked clean, so they ordered an MRI with general anaesthetic, which again showed nothing. She then started showing a really high temp, and was more or less out for the count, with a heart rate of 200. This went on for about an hour during which we were terrified! She settled after they gave her more brufen, and they then started IV antibiotics and fluids as a precaution in case it was an infection. The ortho ruled out any joint muscle or bone issues, and passed her to a surgical consultant querying possible appendicitis :-( They checked her over and ruled that out. More bloode tests, and then passed her to medical consultants, and they have been stumped. They gave her another batch of X-rays in the chest area this time, an echo cardiogram, and an ecg, all showing nothing. She then got passed to an infectious diseases specialist, and they were talking about TB which was very worrying. They did more tests and ruled that out, but found fluid in the abdomen after revisiting the MRI and X-rays. So she was moved to an source isolation ward for observation, and the antibiotics were stopped in case they were hiding anything. She has got a bit better, still off her food a bit but drinking and up and about like a little trooper. Still all smiles too :-) So they took throat swabs and nose swabs etc, and today had came back saying they have found a mycoplasma infection from one of her throat swabs. So hopefully they think that this is the cause of the high temperature and general unwellness. And they think that this has caused muscle and joint pain which may be causing the strange walk. I have read about it though, and apparently it can cause inner ear infections too, and a problem with her ears (which are red when examined) might lead to a balance issue and her strange walk? She is so fed up in there its terrible. Hopefully on the home straight now. Thanks again for all your advice guys.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Took her in and got doesd with Brufen on admission. A two hour wait and she seemed a lot better (typical :-D) but the doc was quite thorough, stripped her off and checked her walking. Put a line in and took blood to check for infection, which came back in an hour all clear. He thought it was probably reactive arthritis due to the spell of illness she just had, and told us just to keep giving her Brufen and it should resolve itself. Wouldnt x-ray her but said that he couldnt find a specific area to x-ray as he couldnt find a specific point of tenderness, which made sense to me at the time, like I say he gave her a very thorough exam. He has however refered us to the paediatric orthopaedic department for a consult to double check that there is no underlying issue relating to the scoliosis, so will need to see what that brings up. She was in agony this morning, but after a dose of Brufen she is bright as a button :-)

Thanks again for all the advice!

Steve we are in Glasgow, and went to the A&E in the Yorhill kids hospital.

I am a qualified network engineer, and the troubleshooting they had me go through when I first got the sagem sky router was absolute bollox. I binned it after two days of stupid support tasks to try and get the thing working. Just google sky router password, there is a way to get the ADSL password, as Sky lock it down. Then just buy any ADSL router, Ive got a net gear one and its been great. Sky won’t do anything, just plug the old one back in if you ever have connection issues.

I use wix for a lot of mates sites. You can get something up in 10 minutes. I just then get a cheap domain name package from 1&1 and point the domain name to the wix site job done. One of my mates I did recently can be seen here

I did a season when I was 26 and I felt a bit old at first. I worked as a ski-tech/ski-rep for a large company, and the ops team were always a bit older, pro reps etc, but the rest of the team in the hotel were all 19 to mid twenties, and lashed every night. Got into it though, and even when stuff got stressful, getting the first lift up to the slopes with a beautiful blue sky and amazing snow, made you feel amazing! defo go for it, and some companies do employ high-season reps, to cope with school groups, so might be a way to do a few weeks to see if you like it, and then a full season next season?

Cool sounds okay then. Its not really buyer beware, as I have bought a number of properties previously and never had any issues. Anyhow, thats why you get a period to intimate faults to the vendor, to give you time to ensure that things are in order and as described.
The faults mentioned are the tip of the iceberg, and some of them could be classed as criminally negligent in my opinion.

Thanks guys, Ill look forward to the date. However if I win, getting the money may be another ball game altogether!
