What a load of crap the English law is! A throw back to feudal w*nkers who had nothing better to do than annoy the oiks! I love that in Scotland I can go where I want when I want and noone can say nything about it. All this searching out paths, and "ooohh can I ride there or can I not?" would put you off biking completely!

The DSG needs oil and filter service at 40k, very important apparently, my dad had his done, but it still started failing

My dad has just got rid of his 56 plate passat as the gearbox started making a rattling noise. The garage were quoting him £1000 with no guarantee what they were trying would actually fix it, so he got rid. There was also some stuff on american frums where the box can catastrophically fail causing the wheels to lock up at speed!

I just got a camelback Octane which is so light you dont even know its there. I had a Dakine Helipro pack which Id used for years before but was just too heavy. The camelback will get used a lot more because its so light.

I have a Thule ride on three bike carrier and its amazingly light, and was only 100 quid from halfrauds! Best thing ever, makes getting away so much easier, and can still take three riders in car with all the crap!

I badly bruised my ribs after a spectacular crash whilst skiing. Got helicoptered off the mountain and they xrayed and was okay just bruised, but….. and sorry to tell you this…. I wasnt right for about 3 months! Couldnt lie on my back or anything, had to sleep sitting up, I was in a real state for weeks, then constant pain for the three months.

Ive been told that the trance (non x) will take up to a 140mm fork, but Im thinking, wont that throw the whole bike out because there is no way to increase the rear travel?

As far as I can see Ive just walked right slap bang into a scam! Cant believe it! I took the instructions above at face value and have just paid some dude called Abraham Saavedra $18.40! Is it just me or is this a total scam?

Yeah get the CV updated, and use the episode as a demonstration of his proffessionalism and career focus. "They gave me no extra money, but I knew it was good experience and I did the job perfectly blah blah"

He shouldnt be out on the street then. The teaching him a lesson part is secondary to protecting yourself, and the best defence is a good offence as they say

If someone lays a finger on you in an agressive manner, lay him out as quickly as possible, ideally with a headbutt as he punches you! The lesson Ive learnt in life is that noone will look after you, you gotta be able to look after yourself. Police will be as much use as a chocolate fireguard as usual, whereas a broken nose might make him think twice about who he picks on next time.

The problem is with the companies. I feel sorry for the people asked to do these irritating things. Doesnt cost the company anything to get them to ask, and some people will say yes so more sales. They might incentiveise the staff in some way, or they may just say they need to do it or they will get bagged

The Humax is a great machine, but mine has started freezing too. Apparently Humax is about to issue a software upgrade to fix the slowing down and freezing, and also add some new functionality. If your happy with the freeview Id just wait for the update, thats what Im gonna do. There is info on the web about it at
    here

Best toy I have ever had :-D And the amount of hassle it saves you with regards to Anti Virus stuff etc is amazing. I get called to a meeting, close the lid on my macbook, it sleeps. Get into the 3 hour meeting with no power supply open the lid and in 2 seconds its back awake. Connects to net perfectly and Im good to go. If that was my work laptop, Id be sitting there 5 minutes later not being able to get net connection, and having to reboot. So defo worth the extra

I think TUI Travel were great at how they handled people. They took people on coaches with reps all the way back to Calais, putting them up in hotels overnight and then drove them on to their departing airport. Can get better than that really.

I read a magazine articel, may even have been a singltrack edition a couple of years back, about a guy who ditched his work, split with the missus, bought a camper van and headed off. It was really inspirational

Ive worked a number of winter seasons in the French Alps, and anything related to tourism is full on for the whole season, 7 days per week. Although you learn ways to shortcut things so you can get out and ride as much as possible, at the end of a season you are a wreck :-D
Although waking up in the morning seeing the sun on the peaks and walking to the bakery for fresh REAL Croissant does make it worthwhile :-D

Usually a d*ckhead who bought it just cos it was more expensive than the other one in the showroom, or a woman who doesnt want to mess her hair up, and same point as above :-D

On both counts, total muppets. I read somewhere that the UK sells more convertibles the the rest of Europe put together!

Ive had a 2002 audi A4 TDI 130 estate for a bout 3 years now, and all Ive changed is tyres and oil! Been the best car Ive ever had, has 150,000 on the clock, runs like a watch, loads of power, looks good, and still get 55mpg every day. I think if you get a VW/Audi diesel, you cant go wrong really

Im amazed at the fact that the news coverage hasnt been its usual useful over-sensationalisation of the actual facts! When you think how they managed to blow the world out of the water with their credit crunch reporting on what started as a rather inocuous blip on the financial radar, this is back page by comparison!
Its almost as if they have been warned not to report big on this! When you think of the possible ramifications of this should it continue for any length of time, its amazing they arent shouting armageddon!!!!

Yeah its designed to go between the cage and the frame but on my bike because the frame bubbles out at that point, so the tabs on the pump brackets look too short to fit
