Tbanks for the answers everyone. I have never understood why anyone wants to ride around with the large words, fat lad at the back emblazoned on it lol.
Looked at the showerpass stuff but nothing in there looks decent. Might llook at some of the outdoor stuff as suggested, had a North Face flight series windproof before and fitted well.

    Thanks all :-)

I used a website called hypnosisdownloads.com a few years ago when I had a period of anxiety and insomnia. I found they were really good, and you download them to your device so can re-use them as often as needed.

Just turn it on, darken the room, lie there and it helped me a lot.

Merkur HD34C here. Switched to a real razor because the normal blades are so expensive! I use Feather Platinum blades, tried a few and these are amazing. I just use normal King of Shaves gel, foamed up and applied with a brush.

Wix is good if it needs to be free, for something that looks good then square space is great but costs. Both have good online page builders with good templates and flexibility to customise.

we have had a stokke, a phil & Teds, a bugaboo Chameleon, and now have a city jogger mini. Stokke was great for city and shopping centres. baby was really high, then snow came and it was hard to push around safely. So we got the Phil & Teds, and its been the best all rounder, been abroad numerous times and is really solid. On holidays byt the pool or beach its like a base station as you can load it with everything and drag it anywhere. Weighs a ton though, so borrowed a friends Bugaboo, and it fell apart. Plastic lugged main joint keeps failing. Seems really flimsy made. Mrs got a bad back and couldnt lift the P&T in and out the boot, so she got a city jogger mini, and its amazingly light and well built. We now have a secondhand city jogger doubler as we have number three on the way soon :-)

Wix is really good, used it for a few friends sites. If you wanted something a bit more polished then squarespace.com is very pretty but a bit more expensive.

The new chromecast audio thing looks good too. Pick up decent hifi separates from ebay and makes them available over the local network

Fantastic but very stylised production, a bit like Sin City? Both movies are awesome though. I have to say that Gerard Butler seems made for that part

Such a shame but as above, better than the view from a nursing home! Although I always remember a talk by Alan Hinkes saying that there is nothing romantic about dying doing what you love, your still dying!

I liked the Tado system. uses apps on your smart phones to see when you leave the house and knows how long it will take you to get there when you head back and switches heating on accordingly. They do a rental or purchase. I didnt go ahead because we were moving house but still considering it in the new house.

So, back from my trip now and the jet lag is causing me real problems :-( Cant sleep at night and knackered all day, but what a trip! HAd possibly the best day on a bike in a city Ive ever had :-D

Took the advice but ended up getting a bike from the Bike Hut, as it fitted in with where I was based etc, and wanted to use them as they are a charitable outfit. Bike was okay, but heavy as hell, and the first one I took, I had to take back 15 minutes into the ride as the chain had a dodgy link which was about to split completely. They swapped the bike quickly and I was off. In general the shop was okay, but the people werent very friendly, but you never know what people have going on, they just have been having a bad day :-)

Rode from there to Fishermans Wharf area and had some lunch (it was a late start) and then round to the Warming Hut Cafe at the foot of the bridge, toilet stop and some water fill. Nice place. Then up and over the bridge, and down to Sausalito. A guy in a VW camper was playing a guitar out of an amp, at a little car park overlooking the bay and I stood there for moment just listening and looking out over it. Then down to Sausalito and had a coffee. Ferry back to the Ferry building and pedalled back to the bike hut. Was a great day so thanks for the advice and pointers :-)

So I get to Miami for a conference on the 25th, then fly to SFO on the Friday 30th at 1015. Then I’m free time I think till Tuesday, work till Thursday and fly home that night. So will probably be Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday I have to do anything.

I’m thinking the GG day out thing might be best then.

Just another way to shaft people who have taken a risk and jumped into self employment. So the payback for taking the risk, having to do tax returns, engage lawyers, accountants etc, and the stress and worry of it all is now diminished, so why would anyone now go contracting?

I can relate to feeling as if your going mad after just such a break up, although it took about 18 months of craziness before the dump happened. My advice, and they may sound weird, if your sitting at night and cant sleep and feel like your going nuts, go out and drive around, it seems to calm you down. Also, go to a 24 hour supermarket and just wander. They are actually designed to make people feel at ease and it does work :-)

Also, as above, get to the gym, out on the bike s much as possible

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that given the close location of Maryhill to Kelvindale, that the scum who have stolen the bikes are from that area. He’s not saying that all people in Maryhill are scum, just that they may have came from that area. I’ve had personal experience of bike thieves who were very organised working from the Mayhill area. Nothing against Maryhill at all,it was just that’s where they were based out of.

His ‘prejudices’ may have been based on that same experience rather than any discrimination. Sounds like your the one jumping to conclusions here Bencooper

Hmm… has anyone had a good experience of trading? I was looking at it as a way to supplement my main income, and have some fun along the way. Am looking to demo trade for about 8 months, learn as I go, test out some strategies and then commit to a couple of grand that I can afford to lose. Seems a lot of people have a lot of bad experiences, those that have, would you say it was down to something you did, markets rigged against small traders, or stress related to real money loss?

And read the terms of the contract with them. I used a solicitor in Glasgow recently stating a price of £599 plus £150 ish for extras. To**er hit me with a bill for £1360, and when I called him to ask WTF, he said all the costs were outlined in the contract, which iv hadn’t really read as I’d gone for the “fixed price” lie

We just replaced our kitchen with the new system from Ikea, and it was amazing to fit. You fit a rail along the wall to a level height and then all the units just hang on it and slide together, level front to back with screw legs at the front and that’s it. Really happy with it, we got the new worktops they are doing which is chipboard centre but with real oak laminate on the surface. It is a pain to oil but I haven’t devoted the right amount of time to doing it, once done a few times it should be okay.
I bought a secondhand Siemens double oven for £95 off the bay, like new! Retailed at over £1000 new and it is immaculate. I also bought a Neff cooker hood which was also immaculate for £60. Both look great and saved a fortune
