Best thing you can do, before you even patch up your wounds is to get straight back on the horse and hit what ever obstacle has had you off again.

Bit of a thread hijack here…. I've had mine bar mounted which has been fine apart from on bumpy ground when it shakes like crazy and gives a nice strobe effect, it's getting worse now the elasic band is stretching too.

Asides from wrapping it with a load of tape has anybody come up with an ingenious solution to get it nice and snug on the bars?

Is this the 'freeride' line? Been looking forward to this opening for a while. I thought it started up by the pump track

Just ride around for a while with the crank bolts off. They'll come off soon enough.

Probably an urban myth but I thought the police wee not supposed to chase cyclists in case they knock them off and get sued.

It's him saying he's going to take down the police that everyone loves, best if we just ignore the whole shooting his missus thing.

What a load of conceited snobbery. As someone above mentions these people are a product of our society, it's certainly not them steering this ship.

Just chucking money at them in the form of benefits and then resenting them for taking it is not going to help anyone, these people need to be empowered and that's where it's going wrong.

I would imagine that to these people the police are mostly oppressive and intimidatiing, and as in one of those posts never actually there when they are needed. That's certainly my experiance of them. I don't agree with it but in that context it is entirly understandable why Moat is being idolised for his vendetta against the authorities.

You'd have to be a right fatty to pinch flat through a side wall, and if you manage that then there really is no hope if you're running tubes…

I'm possibly being a bit of a spaz here but could someone explain how on earth is it possible to get a pinch flat running tubeless?? What exactly are you pinching?

I love making burgers, you can get away with pretty much anything just experiment!

I made some a few times with mozzerella in the middle- make two 1/2 thickness burgers and sandwich a smaller diameter slice of mozzerella in the middle then seal around the sides. Yum Yum.

Also fry off and chuck in some finely chopped onion and garlic if you have time. Finely diced chorizo is also pretty good. Bit of chilli for some heat maybe

I'm glad you posted this up as I've been suffering from this alot recently. For me it's localised to my fingers only, my palms and arms and thumbs are fine.

It's worried me a bit because I've been riding several times a week for probably six months or so now and it's only really started in the last month. I'm not riding anything that different to before. It's also really annoying having to stop half way down decents I used to do in one.

Going to give some bigger grips a go…anyone got any reccomendations?

I make an exception for John Terry

As much of a scum bag as he might be off the pitch, I can't help but admire him after that penguin dive attempt to stop the ball with his face yesterday. That's proper commitment to the cause and as a bonus hilarious to watch over and over… look it up if you haven't seen it already, genius.

+ your the man Penrod. Stuff like that really annoys me.

Went to apply for a job I know I am more than capable of earlier this week and the first question on the online application was 'do you have a masters degree', i entered no and was booted out of the application form, end of story.

Like the sound of that. I can buy an xt bb, wear it out over the course of however long, then replace/ upgrade the bearings and wear them out all over again for less than the cost of a hope bb.

Looks like a winner to me.

CK is way out of my price range to be honest, might begrudgingly fork out for a hope though. I'm pretty lax with maintenance so something that's fit and forget would be great.

How long is the warrenty with hope?

Around five people a year suffer death by lightening strike and I dare say there are a few more people wondering around in storms than there are swimming in reservoirs.

That wasn't directed at you Junkyard you posted while I was typing. It is tragic when people are hurt doing stuff like that but to try and wrap everyone up in cotton wool is a far worse fate for us all, a few people getting hurt doing daft things is a small price to pay. People need to be left to their own devices and not scaremongered by the H&S crowd.

How much are compressors, anyone know where i can get a cheap one from?

CO2 cannisters work just as well and are a fraction of the cost.

I've been running ghetto for a while now after getting 3 snake bites on a single ride. Not had a one since running 30-35 psi and plowing down whatever rocky descents are put in front of me on my hardtail.

So how far below the hook (think that's what the bit of the rim the thyre bead sits in is called?) are you building the gaffer tape up to? Surly if you go too high there will be no room left for the bead?

CO2 cannisters are the cheap alternative to buying a compressor and work just as well.
