Earn some trail karma and cut a couple back, if we all did a little bit we would be golden :)

This. It’s a ballache. But it’s the path that needs to be taken to do anything official, and this is once you’ve convinced the landowner it’s a good idea.

A high level proposal to convert, improve and maintain the existing trail network is very doable.

Uplift? yep why not great way to generate funds to cover maintenance, insurances and expansion.

If anyone is interested in putting together a proposal I can email an example if it would help.

Its naughty, but not as naughty as duplicate threads.

    Balls, mega fail!

The area has just become too popular for a non trail centre. Word of mouth and the frequency with which it is featured on certain riders social media videos hasn’t helped the situation.

All the more reason for someone to work to make a official bikepark/trail centre, rouge trails become official trail builders. or at least put a proposal to the land owner.

But that all relies on if individuals would like to keep the trails they built or have them trashed/closed. Its never to late to build relationships. Fresh slate and try and work to a long term future for a trail network.

BTW I been to Pippingford park helping Adam from Southern XC out a bit. What a great venue, if you’re not signed up for their race this weekend get on it :)

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. When has having a battle with a land owner ever worked?

Bit late for it but working together with the land owner is common since. Putting together a proposal to have a sustainable trail network and a way to fund some insurance.

The requires the local mountain bike to work as a community.

Just looked on there website, that explains why its mostly on bridleway

    “Is the ride timed?
Although the ride is not a race, rider times will be posted on the website shortly after the event”

    Rogate thriving? Really?

Well every race there has sold out since 2015 https://www.rootsandrain.com/venue285/rogate/

Rogate is a winter spot, its always been rubbish in the summer.

-40% refund is still not great IMO. At least there is a cheaper transfer option.

both my kids are in adult elbow pads.
my larger than average almost 7 year old in Scott d30 elbow pads size small i think.. and my sparrow sized 5year old in Troy Lee shock doctor elbows in XS.
they wear them all day and dont have any rubbing issues and they certainly stay in place while working as required
    Cheers just ordered these:

Have heard from BC that a BC race license will cover it.
How much did the BC licence work out at?

Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co. (Chinese: ????????????) is the ninth largest tire company in the world. Established in 1967, in Yuanlin, Taiwan, by Luo Jye. Maxxis is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheng Shin.[1]

Racing on a bridleway- is that not illegal?

This! how can they market this as a race? Should be classed as a none competitive sportive that just passed through some strava segments.

    Things that I don’t like:
    – routes that are a complete boggy mess. Not very responsible of the organisers to send 200+ riders down a route that is already fubar.
    – conversely, too much road
    – same route every year? I’ve repeated the Reading one with a buddy and it was exactly the same as 2 years previous.

    Things I do like:
    – not having to plan a half decent route round places I don’t know
    – getting to see new places.

    Perfect thanks

For it to be an MTb event, not a cross event that needs to attract more entrants….

Waaaay less than 50% road… less that 10% Ideally!

It’s not really a bike for this country though. If you lived near a pedal to some huge rough desert it would make sense.

Or– seek out the Tunnel Hill Trolls and go and ride some of the other areas completely; Tunnel Hill, Deepcut, Porridge Pot, etc.

    It’s a public area though isn’t it?

So is the M25 but I tend to go with the flow of traffic.

Over 500 replies now, keep it come, some great results to take to the park management! We will close the survey in a couple of days and share the results in a week or so.

Charlie owns the trademark ‘Gravity Enduro’. I know that because he emailed me to ask me (very politely) to stop using it in 2013 for the QECP Gravity Enduro

He now uses the term for the Welsh Gravity Enduro Series.

Was hoping the regional organisers could have put on a round each

It looked like the BEMBA members (ha) were on the case, but perhaps they’re not any more.[/quote] I can confirm that BEMBA were/are.
