Is that last section above the ‘horsebox’ car park ? Sort of below the fast rooty end to the old orange trail.
Looks almost mud free , rode round last weekend and it was claggy . Good workout tho.

Yes it is and there was no clag, is so dry for Feb is mad!!

The Queen Elizabeth Country Park Collective would like to invite you to the launch of the new red (yet to be named) mountain bike trail at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield in Hampshire on Saturday 19th May 2012. By that time the Collective would have added nearly 2km of extra trail to the existing orange trail, as well as tidying up and improving bits of the old trail. By then the Collective will have been working on the trail for one year, with thousands of hours of planning and digging done by volunteers with the assistance of one of the Park’s Rangers. The budget for all the work is £0 and at the moment we are still within the budget!

This is not the end of the work. There are still many years of digging ahead but we would like to invite you to celebrate with us the remarkable achievement made by a remarkable group of volunteers that are focused on building mountain bike trails that everyone can use. At 12 noon on 19th May at the park visitor centre there will be a presentation made by members of the collective where the trail will become officially “open”.

That weekend Hargroves Cycles have organised a cycle festival at QE park, which will include a kids race, enduro race, live music and a demo day on 20th May. We have scheduled our launch so as not to clash with the activities Hargroves are putting on. There will also be camping facilities available should you wish to stay overnight.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park is situated on the A3, 45 minutes south of the M25 and only an hour from south london. If you would like any more information on the launch then please contact qecptrailbuilding@yahoo.co.uk or check out the QECP mountain bike trail build facebook page.

    Many thanks,

    The QECP Collective

    Viva la trail revolution!

You can link red and blue in two ways
    Three ways :
    3) Carry straight on along fireroad at top of final red descent and after 1.7Km turn up another fireroad to the right which after 1.5Km will bring you out at the top of the blue descent on your left. The blue descent is definitely not to be missed !

Or you could go on the black for a bit.

Bonty Mud X 1.8 TLR (or XR Mud as it’s apparently now called)

    +1

As above, Mud X, good mixed conditions winter tyre, IMO not as mud specific as the name suggests, but it’s pretty rare you want a 100% mud specific tyre..

    +1

Mud x, great in slop, cookie dough and sorbet mud and roll surprisingly well on tarmac too

+1 no idea why they are good on the road but they are.

Good all rounder in and out of the mud ;)

Not everyone wants to be guided in a group! We stayed here for a few nights

    http://www.leversoyen.com/

our group is 15 peeps some are staying at that campsite, not sure why cos it cheaper to club together and get a chalet.

Scottfitz – how did you find/book the chalet?

We went on same website as we did for our Chatel Trip last year, most of the people on here are brits and its really cheap to rent them in the summer ;) ours worked our at £45 per person for a week.

But There is a comment in bike radar review that everyone runs them differently to the arrows isn’t there (or did I make that up!!)
    Anyone with experience?

    I run them as designed.

Is like the people that run a Minion DHF front tyre on the rear. They will work best how there dsigned.

So out of curiosity what are the Maxxis and Continental equivalents, ie. all rounder, to Nics which I’m running at the minute and have never used anything else.?

Never used Continental but i do use maxxis high rollers and minion, the super tacky one are brilliant but don’t last only put them on for alps, afan, brechfa trips etc…

    The Captain

they don’t like the Chalk/Roots in the south downs. tried the on a demo day, you can tell the designed in California, I’m sure there good in sand or stony soils.

    never tryed Purgatory.

    @scottfitz
which version is that? mine just say ‘rotation’ with an arrow, so the same front or rear

Evo’s, front one and back one run different ways.

I do like maxxis but the good ones only last me 4/5 months (i ride alot)
